The burnin' point [chemical plant]
By: Torie Iven Date: April 28, 2018, 7:23 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
The young raccoon was working hard at the chemical plant since
the end of the war. Her mechanical skills were highly in demand
in that particular zone since most of the working badnik were
rabid. She and the resistance member station there had to stop
out commission the badnik first before restarting the facility.
While the resistance was fighting the mad robot, she was busy
repairing all the damage made by the war and the subsequent
battle. She was always alert because she could easily become a
prey for the robot but still, she was constantly excited about
the ordeal. The constant supply of action and twist was making
her ecstatic and overly energetic. All the action was making her
work at her 200%. Most of the resistance fighter couldn’t even
understand what she was constantly mumbling because she was
perpetually talking to herself.
Today, she was asked to work on a main burner of the refinery.
If she couldn’t repair it in time this whole section of the
chemical plant would explode and put the entire zone at risk of
been set off in flame. She operation was very prone to badnik
and Eggrobo because of the passive alert that was sent to every
robot nearby but without an Eggboss to give them order they’ll
just bring mayhem and destruction.
“Ahh man, hope they’ll be able to give me enough time to repair
this huge lighter. That stupid scrambleman sure like to build
highly dangerous zone geez Louise,” said Torie speaking to
herself.
“Hey,buddy,Tail give me a ratchet and a phillips screwdriver”
she surprisingly said at her tail while everyone around were
confused if she was speaking to her tail or speaking of Tails.
Then a ratchet and a screwdriver fell off the fur of her tail.

The chemical plant, of all places why did she have to be sent
here by the employment center? Sabine sighed in annoyance as she
started to put on her safety gear, consisting of a gas mask and
nothing else. She had merely been told to cover herself up to
deal with any lingering chemical residue in the area. Apparently
getting her a proper safety suit was too expensive for what she
was worth. Not like she had anything to say in the matter, it
was this or no pay at all.
Her job was a simple one, remove whatever toxic waste that
remained in the area so it could be disposed off safely. In
addition, she'd be bringing in materials and supplies to the
construction crew. It wasn't glorious or noticeable, but it was
important and she had been promised a hazard bonus for doing it.
Even then, she detested the staffing agency. While they could
provide her with a steady amount of work, it was all over the
place and they had her by the throat because of her inability to
sustain a normal job. They had tried to get her settled with a
normal job but after she lost her temper and lashed out at the
offending party, it put her career to on hold, if it didn't bury
it outright.
The biggest bonus the agency provided was that she didn't need
any fancy degrees or long term education for the jobs on offer
and her temper wasn't that much of a factor. Now she could at
least rest assured that she could always find something, even if
she did all the jobs no one else wanted to do. It was work and
she was being paid... and she couldn't really ask for more in
that regard. Work conditions was something else entirely.
Her work day overall wasn't too bad, it was messy and sweaty but
that was something she was used to when she worked. It was what
she preferred: physical activities to help her use her strength
productively. Still, as she went in near the refinery with some
basic parts and was about to remove whatever waste was left, she
noticed the engineer working on it talking with her... tail?
After which a ratchet and screwdriver fell out of it. Sabine
just looked at her in disbelief, her mask had to be
malfunctioning and caused her to hallucinate.

Of all thing, working on repairs makes her highly unaware of her
surrounding. Since she's half deaf she can't guess where to
sound is coming from which wouldn't help her to dodge anything.
She was thinking: jeez I hate relying on someone for protection.
Imma gurl of action I WANT TO KICK SOME BUTT That damn that mono
hearing, I miss my Dolby surround hearing. And then she called
for help because some heavy pipe was in the way of an important
control panel.
"HEYA YA behind me or beside or under I dunno... I can't hear
where you are but if ya have some muscle to flex I can use a
hand. It would be easier than just blow off that pipe buuuuuuut
setting an explosion would be funnier buuuuuuuuuuuut where
inside a huuuuuge burner so it could possibly blow off the whole
installation and I here boring myself to death to prevent that.
Why can't I just have fun and destroy one or two rabid Badnik
I'm bored." she complained loudly to whoever was hearing her.
"HEY GUY, did we hire some mercenaries I can't remember. I was
totally snoozing my way out of that debrief before the mission."
she rambles speaking to anyone behind still too concentrate to
be aware of anything else than what in front of her. Pursuing
her complains she continued with" Ya know Imma a country gurl I
was working with my Papa in a big forest cleaning every day all
those rubbish and then we ended our day by creating some gizmo
and weird stuff ahhhhh those were the good times. But still I
received the call for action and heroism and I ended up working
a simple mechanic for the resistance instead of KICKING SOME
ROBUTT AHAHAHAHA ;D . Ya understand that one robot butt, ROBUTT
I mix those 2 words to create that hilarious one. I know ,I know
Imma genius don't tell me" she finished her sentence with a
chuckle laughing at her one bad joke.
After telling that joke on the level of Eggman bad pun, she put
back all the tool she was using into her tail. She continue her
preparation to work on that control panel by pulling of her tail
a red metal boxing that she opened to get some electronic tool
like a electronic soldering gun, some screwdriver and many more
small thing. You see since the last Badnik attack some random
fire went right in the wrong spot and busted out that panel
which was regulating the burner action for this refinery. If she
wasn't called for repair, the burner could have spark an
explosion instead of just burning the impurities if there was
too much air for the fuel ratio.

Sabine just stood there and looked on in disbelief. This had to
be more than a equipment failure on her part, what was up with
this raccoon?!
Truth be told, she was considering just bailing out and going
about her business in another part of the plant, it was clear
even to her that the raccoon had no spacial awareness and just
called out hoping someone was in the room. She could probably
just leave the girl to it and she'd be none the wiser.
The only thing that made her mess it up was when Torie made that
horrible pun and then proceeded to explain it. That was the
straw that broke the camel's back.
"Yes, i got it and you didn't have to explain it, dammit!" she
snapped in exasperation as she went to help her with the pipe,
"okay, fine, i'll help you. If that'll make you shut your trap,
deal?!"
She took a deep breath and got a hold of the pipe. Once she had
a good grip and stance, she raised it up with some strain and
looked at Torie with narrowed eyes.
"Okay, there, get going dammit," she snarled at Torie and made a
head gesture at the control, "before i decide to let it drop on
you."
She didn't pay attention to what happened with the items and the
tail, she didn't want to divert her attention to such....
absurdities.

" WOAAAHHH!! WATCH OUT THERE! " Exclaims Grinder as he slides
down the hall bumping with the two. " Uh.. what's that.. sniff
smell?! " Says the Porcupine intruder, as he stands up and
swipes some dust off his back. " So uh, which way's the exit. "
he asks in a jerky way.
