A Twinkle In Time

It was a brilliantly sunny sky hanging over Emerald Beach, a
bright flash exploded across the sky creating a blinding light
causing a pink bubble to float down out of the sky. The pink orb
touched down upon the wooden floorboards of Sonic's shack, the
exterior of the bubble popped revealing a two cats, one of
lavender while the other was colored white. Both felines were
around the same size and exceptionally well groomed, the
lavender cat wore a frilly blouse with puffy sleeves that sat
under a dark purple halter dress, her dress was complemented by
her dainty white gloves with frilly trim and the purple bow tied
around her neck. She pushed her cat-frame glasses up her nose
before patting down her hair that was styled neatly into a tight
bun. After recomposing herself she shuddered having glanced
around Sonic's home. "Your father the famous Sonic The Hedgehog,
lived in this filthy squalor!? Miss Caroline, I'm afraid the
time bubble may have miscalculated the date I entered. Forgive
me but I'm sure I input the correct year." She said bowing her
head to the white cat awaiting her friends reply.

When the bubble popped, the white cat would place a hand to her
forehead briefly in a slight wave of pain or some sort of
discomfort before then pulling the hand away and glancing around
at their surroundings. The room was familiar to her of course
since it belonged to her father- although a younger version of
him at that. She let Twinkle speak first, giving the other
feline a quick glance on the comment she made about her father's
living space, "He's not exactly glamorous, this is true but I
suppose you live how you prefer when you're famous, father never
seemed to be one for all the glitz and glam" While she didn't
100% agree with his lifestyle choice unlike that of her sister,
she also didn't think lesser of him for it.
However the part about the time bubble taking them to the wrong
date made the white cat's ears flick and pin back for a moment,
however she soon loosened up and place her hands together in
front of herself, "It's... Quite alright, I just hope this is
the year that those three ran off to, we must be swift in
finding them.." She closed her eyes for a moment and sighed, it
was obvious that the fact that her sister was missing while
badly sick in another timeline for that matter, greatly effected
the older sister. She was worried and she was scared for her
little sister so they had to find her fast. "Suppose we should
get started right away on finding them, if they haven't removed
their wrist devices, then their trackers should all still work,
if they've removed them... They're going to be in a lot of
trouble.." She gave a light grumble at that last part before
looking to Twinkle again, her tail flicking, "Did our supply
bags come through with us alright too? Or did only us make it
through the bubbles?"

Noticing Caroline's annoyance even ever so slightly caused
Twinkle to internally panic; in order to remedy the situation
she quickly pulled out the tracking device and started punching
in commands in order to locate their targets. "Excellent
thinking as always, Miss Caroline. I'll see to it posthaste."
Inputting the final prompt caused two red beacons to start
flashing on the device's screen. Breathing a sigh of relief she
handed the tracker to the white cat before bending over to check
on the supplies. Unzipping the bag to reveal it's contents was
piles of neatly folded frilly blouses with matching dresses and
spell books. Twinkle's tail stood on end as she nervously bit
her lower lip; it appears only her personal baggage made it
through and Caroline's belongings were lost adrift in the time
stream.
Twinkle let out a small giggle that escaped her mouth as a purr
causing her to place her dainty fingers across her lips. Twinkle
must admit she found the prospect of the cunning Caroline being
forced wear the same clothing as her, amusing; she'd never seen
her in anything other than her red tights and coat, the thought
of her in an elegant blouse and a well pressed dress was almost
worth the verbal lashing she was sure to receive. Quickly
zipping up the bag and flinging it over her shoulder she backed
away from her friend nervously. "Boss, I regret to report that
your belongings were lost during the jump. As you know this
technology is still in it's infancy and thus it still has a few
kinks to work out."
The lavender cat held her duffle bag before her, making an offer
to her furious friend. "Rest assured you'll not have to wear the
same clothing for weeks on end. When your garments are no longer
fit for wear, you are welcome to share mine. I packed and
pressed enough for an entire months stay." Twinkle was trying to
be helpful and put a positive spin on a bad situation but she
was kidding herself if she thought Caroline wouldn't scald her
for the machines bugs.

Truly, it was a wonderful day. A wonderful day for many normal
things. Going out to play catch, getting an ice-cream from the
local ice-cream parlor, staying in a really long line for a
movie convention, causing a super bright blinding light that
conjured a giant pink bubble from thin air above a secret
secluded island, buying groceries— Wait.
A super bright blinding light that conjured a giant pink bubble

Now that was abnormal.
Fortunately, one particular connoisseur of the arguably abnormal
in the world had been on this island attending to his own
personal business. So, he was able to closely witness the
occurrence. This was the mysterious individual that went by
'Doubles'. Fortunately, the armor he wore included a helmet with
a visor that filtered a majority of the flash in the sky, but it
was still quite noticeable. Following the pink bubble in secret,
he saw where it landed, right there in front of Sonic's shack.
Leaning on a nearby coconut tree only a few paces beyond the
archway and deck of Sonic's shack, he caught the tail end of the
conversation the two felines had. Ooh dear, how awkward that
situation looked. [shadow=white,left]"You know, personally, I
would say trespassing is an action that could land one squarely
in trouble."[/shadow] He mused idly. [shadow=white,left]"Not to
burst your bubble or anything, but you've picked quite the time
to drop in."[/shadow] Speaking casually with a very subtle wit,
letting the two know he very plainly saw their arrival.

Every since Sakura arrived in this time line, she had enjoyed
her time exploring everything her parents had in this time
period. She hadn't ran into them yet for fear of messing things
up and preventing her birth. She didn't think it possible to
tell the truth but still choose not to risk it. She had seen
them a few times however but from a safe distance. Today was no
different. She sat idly on the beach as she watched her parents
spar with one another. Just like in the future, those two were
always training getting ready for the next big attack. Sakura
gave a small sigh before standing up and dusted herself off.
" Sigh....just like back home. Those two are always training. I
wonder if they ever have fun." she said to herself before
turning getting ready to leave. She stopped however as a bright
light appeared out of nowhere near Sonic's shack. Once the light
faded Sakura decided to be curious. " I know that light from
anywhere...did one of the others come to this timeline?" she
asked herself as she went to investigate.
When she got there however, her face went pale as a ghost. " Oh
no...." she said to herself as she looked at who had arrived. It
wasn't sapphire or Robin. Oh no...it was Caroline. Sakura went
stiff as a board as she starred at the cat. She had took note of
the other feline with her and she had heard a small part of the
conversation.
She looked to her wrist as she had indeed forgotten that she
wore her bracelet with her always. It wouldn't take long for the
felines to notice her presence and with no real hiding spot, she
stood out like a deer in headlights.

With the amount of workload, he's been doing for the past weeks
the cyan hedgehog Soul decided to take a breather perhaps maybe
enjoy the scenery over by the beach. It was a little too sunny
maybe, but he came prepared and bought a pair of sunglasses to
block out a few harmful rays, at least that's what he thought
when he witnessed the flashing light above. It did block out
some of the flashes but he felt little drawbacks from it, such
as a minor headache but managed to shake it off after a few
walks. "What in the name of Chaos was that?" he asked himself
rubbing the back of his head. With the use of his aura
perception ability he was able to track the source of two
incoming individuals nearby, an incident like that spelled a
possibility of trouble.
By the time he arrived in a quaint little shack, he saw two
felines dressed neatly, an individual in a suit of armor and a
red wolf. He took a deep breath trying to take it all in,
raising his sunglasses to his forehead and spoke "Well look what
the cat dragged in, You two felines seem out of this
world--looking fur someone purr-haps" he asked casually though
was still wary about the two.

Caroline nodded to Twinkle as she was quick to get her device to
track down the other three they needed to find, however Caroline
paused a moment when only two beeps sounded to show up with two
beacons. Two? She was sure that the three of them were back here
in this time... She placed a hand over her stomach briefly as
her gut gave off a bad feeling, something didn't feel right but
what was it? Even if one of them had taken off their device it
would still show up on the tracker... She tried not to think the
worst for now. When handed the tracker she took a look at the
beacons, did she dare look at who's trackers she was picking up?
Was it Sapphire and Robin? Sapphire and Sakura? Or...
Her thoughts were snapped back to the now as Twinkle had done
checking their bags, catching a bit of her giggle made Caroline
raise an eyebrow briefly, looking at her friend while she waited
for Twinkle to give her the spill. "WHAT?!" The white feline
practically hissed hearing that none of her bags had made it
through and only Twinkle's luggage had. As Twinkle had thought
beforehand, Caroline seemed rather furious about this, her eyes
glowing a deep red for a few moments before she took in a deep
breath and tried to relax back down again, listening to Twinkle
offer her a share of her own garments, she knew her friend was
trying to be helpful given the situation but it didn't exactly
make her feel that much better, especially since they had
different tastes in clothes. But she did manage a small smile
from it for Twinkle. ".. Thank you for the offer. Perhaps we
could do some shopping later as well even. Remind me to give
Robin an earful for the faulty time technology he made once we
find him."
The cat's fur would stand on end for a moment hearing another
voice that was clearly not Twinkle's nor her own and certainly
not any of the three missing either. She'd try to turn calmly
around though to see exactly who the voice belonged to, only to
be met with someone hidden in armor. That armor looked...
Familiar to her actually but. She'd tilt her head, squinting
lightly at him for a few moments. But where did she remember it
from? Caroline stiffened a moment at the drop in comment, but
concluded that it was coincidental that he'd said time, and he
didn't mean it in a time jump sense. Standing back up properly
the cat would flick her tail, causing the bell tied around the
tip to jingle gently. "Trespassing? The same could be said about
you, Sonic doesn't wear armor afterall" She folded her arms, so
far, trying to get back the other three swiftly and without
being noticed by many of the other timely folk wasn't exactly
going well. "Oh?" She pondered a moment. Just what time exactly
had they come back to? They would probably look suspicious.. Or
stupid if they didn't know about some things like big events of
the time and Caroline didn't want to look like either of those
things. She'd take a quick look to her own device, it was...
Wait, they had come back to this time? Wasn't this just after...
This gave her some things to work with, "Well we apologize if
this isn't a good time, I've been looking everywhere for my
little sister and some of her friends, they went missing during
all the fighting. She's a big fan of Sonic I thought she might
come here to look for him" She let off a light sigh, drooping
her ears a little "But it looks like she's not here either.." It
was seriously starting to bother her that she couldn't yet quite
remember where she'd seen that armor before. "Have you by any
chance seen a short blue girl hedgehog around? She's about yay
high, full of energy, always got a smile. Or maybe a brown wild
dog? Or-" She blinked as she looked past him for a moment, was
that... Yes it was! "Sakura!"
The cat would breathe a slight sigh of relief, one down, two to
go... Seeing Sakura freeze however made her hold out a hand,
"Sakura, it's so good to see that you're okay, please please
please tell me you've seen the other two" She asked, placing her
hands together. If one of the beacons had been Sakura. Who had
downright somehow managed to turn off their tracker? She
couldn't see reason in the other two purposely doing it...
Seems their flash of light had attracted even more attention too
as soon they were met with another mobian, a cyan coloured
hedgehog at that. The cat would hold up her hands a little and
take a slight step back before taking in another breath and then
speaking again, she wasn't the biggest one for jokes especially
now that she was panicked for her sister and Robin, but she knew
that would've been something those two would've laughed about
"Ah- Thank you? Um. Well yes actually" This was such a busy time
to have picked, why of all the times did Sapphire and Robin
choose this one? Maybe these two who were from this time could
help them to find them? But why would they help? They were
probably busy enough as it is trying to help with the cleanup--
And she hadn't even been polite enough to introduce herself!!
"H..how rude of me.. My name is Caroline by the way, it's a
pleasure to meet you Sir" She'd go to the armored figure first
as he was the first to show and would hold out a hand to him for
him to shake if he chose to. After giving him time to respond,
she'd then go to Soul and also hold a hand out for him, "It's a
pleasure to meet you too!"

First she stood at attention on the tips of her toes when
Caroline hissed at her; frightened of what she'd do. Then
Twinkle held her paws together and mewed with delight, "Shopping
with you, Miss Caroline? That would be heavenly! Indeed, I shall
remind you when appropriate to give that dog a good verbal
lashing for his errors." When all the others entered Twinkle
stepped behind Caroline, she was shocked so many could track
them so quickly; she was almost certain choosing a remote
location like this would give them time to plan and stay away
from annoyances. She let Caroline deal with the wolf and the man
in the strange armor however the hedgehog's tasteless jokes
annoyed Twinkle causing her to hiss and her tail so stand on
end. She stepped out from behind Caroline getting defensive,
raising her hand she glared at Soul as a pink aura manifested
around her fingers. "I do not take kindly to being mocked
hedgehog. Another crack like that and I'll fling you out into
the ocean with a flick of the wrist. I suggest you make amends
before I sink your parade." Twinkle had decided to give Soul a
taste of his own medicine in order to show how annoying wordplay
of that caliber could be.

Folding his arms, the armored Mobian stepped away from the
coconut tree and moved forward a few paces, discreetly checking
the recording software within his helmet using ocular activated
commands before any response was made towards him, and turned it
on. [shadow=white,left]"Obviously. Of course he doesn't. One
need not be a genius to figure that out."[/shadow] Sonic? Wear
armor, not to mention a mask, and miss out on exposure? As if.
Thoughts ruminated at extreme speed within the man's head,
calculating any and every implication of what the white cat
ended up saying. [shadow=white,left]"Looking for family and
friends among the remaining dregs of disorder? A commendable
goal indeed... However something about what you have said sticks
out to me. Fans of Sonic do not immediately equate to friends
now do they? You seem to already know the significance of this
private location... Yet, I have not seen you or your friend
before in my entire life, much less anywhere near Sonic and the
others."[/shadow] With a sigh, he shrugged.
[shadow=white,left]"Now, I'm willing to put the issue aside if
you stop hiding what you might know. Consider it a trade; I'll
help you search for those you have lost. I can plainly see you
are not lying about that, at least."[/shadow]
Mere moments before the white cat could finish the descriptions
of the missing individuals, a somewhat familiar face showed
up... It was the kid that bared a striking resemblance to Blaze
and Veira, sporting an odd level of attachment to them. If Blaze
and Veira were together (and they often were whilst working with
the Resistance), Sakura wasn't exactly far behind. The problem
here, is that the teenage wolf looked like she had seen a ghost.
Many more thoughts were sorted through whilst keeping track of
the interaction between Sakura and the white cat. Just how did
they know each other? Something wasn't adding up. Another member
of the Resistance had arrived mere moments later, a quirky one
with a penchant for jokes; their name was Soul if memory served
the armored one— and serve well it did. The corny joke flew just
as predicted. Though a well meaning gesture, one of the felines—
the pink one— really wasn't feeling it and she began to hiss
violently. Being a man with manners, the handshake from the
white cat Caroline was readily accepted. [shadow=white,left]"I
go by Doubles."[/shadow]
With a slight bow, he looked over his shoulder.
[shadow=white,left]"Excuse me."[/shadow] Doubles said politely
as he slinked back, stepping over to Soul and the unnerved pink
cat. [shadow=white,left]"Do simple jokes not exist where you
come from?"[/shadow] He asked with a snort of disappointment
directed towards the pink cat. [shadow=white,left]"What an
abysmal lack of manners. Reign in your attitude before you cause
undue trouble for your friend over there. At least she seems to
realize the situation she is in."[/shadow]

Sakura just sat there a bit too stunned to speak as she starred
at Caroline. Why was she here? Was she taking her back to their
time? She hadn't even done anything too dramatic to the timeline
had she? She thought she was careful but it appeared that was
not the case. She gulped lightly before breathing again. She
walked over to her friend and gave a hug instead of a handshake
before rubbing her arm lightly. She tilted her head a bit as she
listened to Caroline.
" I haven't seen or heard from them since I've been here. I
mean....I had one beep come through my bracelet but the readings
were off so I never pursued it. I'm sorry I should have checked
right away. Has something happened?" she asked Caroline.
She then looked to the others and crossed her arms a bit. One
would find it odd that a wolf was a bit afraid of a cat but
Sakura had her reasons for fearing Caroline. She's not happy
when she's angry.
