[Meadows] Serenity (Alwyn/Silver Only)

Silence.
Sunlight beams from above, blue skies with several clouds
floating, vibrant strands of the green grass, the sounds of
animals, the motion of the colorful flowers tenderly swaying and
the gentle warm breeze to complete the package. However, in the
scenario, there was a lone figure in the midst of the flowers, a
young gray simian child donning a getup that was earthy in
coloration, as he was resting among the flowers as if it was his
own personal paradise. Arms relaxed, legs spread, tail idle and
eyes closed, one could question how long he has been there even
if it was only for a few hours. He needed to destress himself
especially with the troubles involving wandering robots and
other things that could pose as an issue. Survival was
especially hard but he had to pick up on new areas to make it in
this world, full of conflict and strife as well as hope and
friendships.
Even at a standstill, Time's hands kept going and what the
future hold changes every moment. It could be peaceful for now
but what of the following days? That is one of Life's greatest
mysteries since only those with a strong free will, who
constantly defy the hold of Fate, were either rewarded or
punished, and this was no exception.
However, as it would seem, just as the wind was swaying his fur,
the sensitive fibers that grew back as an aftereffect to the
merger, stood up as it was tugging at the child's attention. The
sensation of a familiar energy was detected closeby, which
stirred the duo despite of that not showing the case to normal
individuals; after all, it wasn't only him that felt it but
another, his friend, well only friend, Aglaea, that he made long
ago before he ran off from his village after it was devastated.
This is his idea of escapism; in the hands of Nature's serenity.

Silver floated away from the strange, conflicting and loud city
they called Mobotropolis which to Silver was known as old
Mobotropolis. Too much people thinking all at once, no one
shielding their minds. Silver was specialised in psychokinesis,
not telepathy but the city was just too much to bear. Weirdoes
and what not, he needed a place to rest away from those
barbarians. As he floated away he saw the beauty of nature.
'this...I need this. Of course...they call this a meadow I
think' He thought and landed in the grass and felt a calm he
never experienced before and the smell of flowers intoxicated
him. No burned lifeforms, no ruins just the calm of the meadow
and the flowers growing there. He took a deep breath and lied
down exhaling a sigh of relief but then his mind was alerted by
a presence, unlike any others. Silver tried to focus on this
psychic presence, unable to discern how many they were but he
didn't care. It felt right to find another psychic entity
around, reassuring even. He wasn't alone with his own mind and
wasn't attacked by all the wild thoughts these people had.
'Hello...? Are you a being like me? Am I disturbing your quiet
time alone?'He mentally asked the presence he hadn't noticed
until he landed. 'I really hope I am not intruding, it was the
only quiet place I could find...'

The telepathic message from another confirmed the suspicion.
While her friend, Alwyn, was trying to rest and is someone not a
fan of being contacted by strangers, Aglaea perked up as she has
to be the one to be the speaker for the duo.
(Oh no, you're fine.) she answered back. (There's no need to
apologize and besides, to the earlier question: yes, well, in a
sense. To be honest, I think it's actually nice there's another
around besides us after all. Though, who are you? I would like
to know, well, if you want. My name's Aglaea but you can call me
Aggy for short. It has a nice ring to it if you ask me.)
Aglaea sounded excited. The fact that there's another individual
besides Alwyn, who was an Empath, before she came in and
strengthen their overall ability in the merger, allowing them to
branch out, was a nice change of pace. Ever since her
disconnection from the Overmind due to her past and into Alwyn,
they had developed a strong mental link as the years go by. The
Voxai knew that recent times had been tough for her friend and
he was suffering even though he didn't want to admit to it; in
fact, he always did blame himself.

'excellent...I....I haven't caught my breath ever since I
arrived in this world...' He said to his mental interlocutor.
Knowing that other psychics existed soothed his anxiety for a
second. This was a strange world but knowing that he wasn't
alone reassured him. 'I really enjoy this...the quiet of this
place with no unshielded mind and no barbaric thoughts. Not that
your world is barbaric, I mean. I really don't... I'm gonna
remain quiet.'
Silver felt like an idiot who had spoken too much. It was a
thing he wasn't proud of, whenever he would get comfortable he'd
talk too much. He did not have the luxury of seeing a flowery
meadow before. All of this was new to him and he needed time to
process. He lied down in the grass and enjoyed the tingling
sensation of the blades of grass tickling him in between his
quills. 'Is this, a meadow? I mean, is this real? the pleasant
scents and the ticking green blades are they real?'
He asked the strangest questions to Aggy without the need to
speak. It felt natural to him to communicate like this, with no
one forcing his hand to do anything. 'I realise that I keep
talking but I did not introduce myself...I-I am Silver, you are
different than the people of the village. Calm yet excited,
well, I can only guess...I am not an empath, I guess they would
better at this than I am. I can barely use telepathy...I'm only
good at moving objects and even then.'

(Nice to meet you Silver.) mused Aglaea as she continued
communicating with Silver before she pause for a moment. (Well,
another thing, this is my first time here; I've never been to
someplace this lively and bright before but it's a different
thing. It's nice to be in a different world that's not so dark
all the time.)
It was kinda her fault that she ended up in this predicament
with Alwyn after all and despite the rough start, they got along
in due time even if it was several years down the road. However,
pushing aside her emotions, she continued.
(Oh and don't worry, I understand and plus, you're the second
psychic outermind that I've came across so far. It makes me
wonder how many more are out there in total; I mean, even though
it's been years that I had been away from home and..well, my
friends and family. Though, to be honest, we're both alone out
here since Alwyn lost his parents and he has no place else to go
to since his village was attacked and people fled in panic.)
Aglaea was concerned for the emotional if not psychological
wellbeing of Alwyn and she knows that he felt the same since
there was a shifting of emotions going on despite the telepathic
discussion. In time, her tone became calmer.
(I'm sorry. I should be careful with certain topics, Alwyn is an
Empath in his nature and he could sense shifting emotions. Me,
on the other half, added on to his power with telepathy and
telekinesis when we merged so we're essentially a two-in-one
ordeal. However, telekinesis or not, you're still special in
your own right; after all, everyone is different.)
Though, she is curious of how Silver is, knowing her eager
personality. If she was outside and not merged with Alwyn, she
could show herself but how would he take seeing such a tiny
Voxai like herself after all? That was what got her wondering.

'I thought I had sensed more than one mind, but I couldn't tell
how many of you were psychics. I am very glad to feel a
connection that is neither forced or intrusive. I suppose you
could say that your presence truly soothes me. I come from
another time and this world is just strange and unruly and their
minds are chaotic as they come. Having this conversation is
truly a bliss...oh, I shouldn't mention me coming from another
time...'
He was chatty with Aggy, and it felt natural. Maybe it was the
fact that they were psychics, maybe it's the fact that they were
both away from their own worlds and felt estranged by the
feeling of loss or maybe it was just him feeling alone. While
lying down in the grass he closed his eyes and slid his fingers
across the green blades just to feel their sharp tickling
sensation on his hands. instead of lying in ruins praying for a
swift death he was lying on the ground enjoying nature and
another psychic mind to communicate with for another purpose
than alerting them.
'Tell me, is your world of origin beautiful? Can you describe it
to me? I have never seen anything but my world before I arrive
in this strange primitive world. All I knew of this place are
the strange documentaries they left behind and strangely many of
them featured the same people with other names, some of them
were even alive after they died in others. This is so strange to
me...I don't understand this world and it makes me incredibly
nervous but again, I might not understand yet.'
He couldn't help but feel comfortable with them around, he
talked and they responded. They had a casual conversation!
Silver chuckled and rolled on his side and stroke the grass.
This pleased him in ways he never imagined possible.

He was from another time? The thought of it has a means of
catching her attention though she could also sense Alwyn getting
curious as well. She could sense his curiosity popping up after
all. As Silver spoke, Aglaea used her time to gather up the
thoughts of him one by one and even though she was hesitant, she
also felt like she should explain.
(The world I came from is very different than this place. I
remember about the eternally twilight skies with mostly barren
floating islands, however each of it was filled with some format
of glowing flora, technology and/or light, namely with the fact
that there were different groups: there's the Voxai, the
N'rrgal, the Zoah, the Kron and finally the Nocturnus. I am a
Voxai, one of many, though I'm smaller compared to others
because of my age and I'm from the Beta Colony, one of two Voxai
colonies.) she explained as she was remembering. (The good part
is that we all live in peace, are more independent than what we
were in the past, help each other out and live in a utopia,
well, that is that if you are used to the constant darkness.
That's why it's called the Twilight Cage after all.)
She seemed to be worried about something as it was surfacing:
what of that horrible monster that ripped through and attacked
out of nowhere? Is everyone okay since she was warped to another
dimension? Have they forgotten her? No, there was no way they
would. Surely, she would be able to see her family
again...right? Aglaea's worry seemed to had concerned Alwyn in a
sense and in a way, he had to speak up in the discussion.
(Don't be upset Aggy. You have us with you.) he spoke calmly.
There was a calming reassurance in his tone that helped the
Voxai to calm down.
(I know. I'm guess I should try to calm down, haha.) she replied
softly to Alwyn before she spoke to Silver. (Oh Silver! This is
Alwyn but you can call him Al for short.)

'It is nice to meet you Al, well in this psychic way of meeting
someone. I hope we weren't too loud?'Silver was smiling, this
felt great. He approached his nose to smell an orchid and he was
impressed. He had just made a friend and he wasn't thinking
about a giant weapon trying to destroy everything in its path.
'To be fair I never had such a casual conversation with everyone
before without having a feeling of discomfort of stress. But
most conversations are face to face with a lot of strangers are
they not? At least when I arrived here I was lost and my
presence seemed to have attracted strange people...'
He blushed and covered his face thinking about all the people
that must have a headache because of him and his psychic scream
from earlier. But he did not regret his course of action, it
could have gone worst. He then felt bad that Aggy had told him
about her world and he didn't about his.
'I'll tell you about what I can of my world, it's only fair
after you told me about yours... I came from a barren world, a
catastrophe happened in our past that created a being of
ultimate powers, the ultimate life form as the ancients called
it and later on, the Elohim. This being rose to power and was
under the control of a tyrant who destroyed all who rebelled or
opposed against him and burned the cities and villages to serve
as examples. I wasn't born when it was created and I never got
to live under the overlander's reign, for I was born after he
lost control of it. I was born to live the consequences of this
being's existence.Up until recently, I was trying to fight it
with the others and I was chosen to be sent away to find a
better fate. I am not sure if this decision was wise but I am
trying to see the positive side. At least I get to see and
smells things we only knew thanks from relics of the past...
Like this documentary...I think it is called Die Another day and
a Mobian recorded his spying adventures against evil
organisations'
Poor Silver had no idea of what a movie was, nor that he
probably already said too much about origins. He was so
enchanted that he did not realise he had blown his ''cover'' but
at this point he did not care, they were his new friends right?

Both of the children felt bad for Silver especially with how his
future is in general but they did sympathize with him. After
all, even if Aglaea's kind were imprisoned in the Twilight Cage,
they had things going for them, while Silver, he lost more.
However, the kinship that was developed over a small discussion
between the psychic entities were enough to get Alwyn's
attention if not ease him into a comfortable state though
somewhat still cautious.
(It's good that you, along with others, are fighting for a
cause. All I could say to that is we're rooting for you!)
replied Aglaea. (In fact, I'd wish there are more people like
that.. Maybe because we haven't really had ran into other people
yet, just a couple of robots running about and trying to catch
us, but they always get tossed aside. After all, we work like a
team but I'm getting kind of worried because we've been
traveling like this. In fact, we have to find someplace safe to
stay at before night comes and it gets really dangerous.)
Alwyn's physical body was starting to shuffle a bit as he slowly
but surely opened his sky blue eyes slowly, only to be welcomed
to the sight of the clear blue skies above before he yawned a
bit. He carefully sat himself up, stretching his arms and legs
as well as his tail before he rose his hand from the soft grassy
ground and straightened his glasses. At this, he was eventually
looking around his surroundings a while before he asked,
(Um..where are you at Silver?)

Silver was still down in the grass and flowers, afraid that
meeting his new friends in person might disappoint them. He was
anxious, but they had a connection, it felt so natural then why
was he so anxious he didn't know. 'as if it would work, right?'
He thought and didn't dare to stand up. The meadow was
comforting and the blue sky gave him courage. He finally raised
his right hand after he took a deep breath. ''I...I-I a-aaam
here!'' He said nervously and sat down.
His previous experience with the people of this timeline was
dreadful but this psychic encounter had been more than
beneficient and he was willing to give it a chance. Maybe it
would be a very good encounter and would restore his faith in
his mission and this timeline. 'I hope that you won't regret
meeting me...hehe' he tried to hide his insecurities but he was
ready to give a chance to this world. He then stood up and
looked around just in case the weirdo from earlier would have
followed him. But he did not seem to have pursued him which made
feel much safer.
