[i] Having protected them from the majority of the impact, the
ringing in her ears wasn't anywhere near as sensitive as it
should have been, but even so the mild ringing the mild results
was just as jarring. Grateful for Umis attentiveness, it took
her few minutes to concentrate on her concerned inquiries. Her
dark green orbs, fading back into there usual calming shade of
sky blue, she managed to muster up a timid smile.
"I-I'm okay Umi, that just really took it out of me,
recuperation and coffee sound like a fantastic idea.."
Doing her best not to place the majority of her weight on the
kindly hedgehog, she failed rather feebly, and instead just
ended up leaning against her. Given her dazed state, it was
hardly a surprise that she didn't register much as far their
change of scenery went, Umi proving without fail that was she
was a lot stronger than she initially looked.
Relief flooding through her system, that the coffee shop they
ended up in, was more or less deserted give or take a few
scattered curious onlookers. She focused on putting one foot in
front of the other, until they got to a table, managing to slide
herself into a chair, she reached for her purse with still shaky
palms.
"Coffees on me okay, i think we've both more than earned it."

Sally sat in the corner of the coffee shop a pencil stuck
between her teeth and a stack of papers with complex
calculations sprawled out before her; her left hand was running
coding sequences in her hand held CPU dubbed N.I.C.O.L.E, while
the other tapped idly. Sally was growing more and more irritated
by the moment every time the two speedsters roared past. Pushing
he glasses up her nose she slumped over the desk, before placing
her fingers on her forehead massaging her temples slowly. "Do
those idiots have to do this now?" She sighed after her outburst
before returning her eyes to her work. Sally had grown tired of
being pestered with royal affairs and came to her favorite spot,
for a quiet afternoon of code crunching.

[i] Her blue irises casually skimming their surroundings, she
almost dropped her purse, at the sight of who she saw. Sure
seeing her here wasn't the surprise, that much Sonya knew. This
was her go to spot when she was in the city and needed some
peace and quiet, she just hadn't expected to see her back so
soon. She had so many questions to ask the chipmunk, but in her
weakened state she wasn't exactly in a position to bound across
the cafe, like she probably would have if did have the energy.
And Sally seemed way to engrossed in whatever she was doing to
take notice of them, so that only left one option.
Balling up a napkin, she aimed, and tossed it hard Sallys way.
She'd had maturer approaches in her time, but'd it do for now.
Her ears tall on her head, a grin began to spread.

Watching the crumpled up paper land at her table broke Sally out
of her self induced daze. She turned noticing Sonya was carrying
an injured friend and rushed to her side, leaving her portable
CPU behind. "Oh Sonya, I apologize I didn't notice you right
away. Oh my, is she okay? She hasn't been hurt by those two
taking out their aggression on the city, has she?" Sally placed
her dainty fingers upon her cat-framed glasses activating a
medical scan. The LCD screens inlaid into her lenses showed
Sally nothing was broken causing her to breath a sigh of relief,
placing her hand over her heart. She couldn't help but smile
looking over the hard working medical officer who even now was
helping others.
Pressing a small button on her frames again she snapped a
picture of Umi adding it to database for later use. "Hrmm the
feedback from her biological scan shows she can manipulate
water! This is too perfect she'll make a brilliant subject if
all goes well." Sally told herself becoming lost in thought at
the possibilities of Umi and her powers. Running the data
through her head she forgot the water bender hadn't introduced
herself and accidentally blurted out the name she read on the
file she downloaded. "Umi, Sonya whatever happened to you two?
You look a mess." She said not yet realizing how creepy it was
she used Umi's name despite it was their first meeting.

[i] "She's fine Sally, promise.. if anything Umi held her own
better than me out there today."
Tossing another friendly grin Umis way, Sonya purposely ignored
the fact that her childhood friend had used Umis name before
she'd even had a chance to open her mouth. No doubt they'd be
explaining about how Sallys glasses frames was far from ordinary
later on. Pulling out the chair next to her, and motioning for
the other female to sit, she continued, making introductions
much more cheerfully.
"Sally, meet Umi she's a friend of Sonics, and she helped take
care on the offense lines during the Eggman Empire chaos, Umi,
this is Sally Acorn, leader of the resistance, Princess Sally if
you want to get really formal."
She knew that she sounded uncharacteristically confident, but
she couldn't help it, Sally brought that side out in her.
"What happened.. well .. that's kind of a long story."
Feeling that familiar ache of tiredness creep up on her, she
quietened down again, giving the orange furred female, a subtle
nod to take the ropes on the explanation.

Umi walked over to them after setting Sonya down next to a table
before she got distracted by a new girl who she seems to know
and who has suddenly taken a photo of her without her consent
and suddenly knew her name..? This was an interesting day,
indeed...
Blinking, Umi slowly replied, "Um...okay then... Gonna ignore
all of that..." Shaking herself out of her shock, the orange
hedgehog strained a warm smile at the chipmunk girl. "Hello, I'm
Umi the Hedgehog. It's nice to meet you...Sally." She finished
uncertainly, holding out a hand to shake.
After that was finished, Umi crossed her arms and shifted her
weight on her heels before she suddenly looked as if she had an
idea and snapped her head towards Sonya. "Oh! Um...I'm gonna go
inside to grab a tea. I'll leave you two to catch up for a
moment..." With that, she promptly left along with her feelings
of unease towards Sally and the whole situation in general.

Scourge had been roaming the zone since the warp ring he had
with him just happened to disappear during one of his visits. He
was mostly trying to find a way to contact Fiona, or get a new
warp ring, while avoiding confrontation. As much as he'd love to
do the song and dance with Sonic, it wasn't the same without a
method to continue trolling the blue bastard. The warp ring was
just one of those things. Going in and out, trying to rile up
the good version of himself.
This was a moment where he had to not give in to teasing his
alternate, at least not until he finds a way back and get a
replacement. Whichever came first. Scourge came across the
cafe... and three girls. He didn't recognize any of them. Wait.
Who is that?
Sally?
When did she have long hair? Or even glasses for that matter? He
didn't remember. Alicia did have long hair, though. It was more
wild compared. Maybe she wore contacts, too, never really paid
much attention even before he became who he is now. He shifted
himself to step back a bit and huddle to a corner so he wouldn't
be fully seen quite yet. Couldn't discard the possibility that
Sally knew him and probably told others about him... Or this
could be a much different Sally than he was used to.
He had to be smart in this situation. The green hedgehog watched
the trio from the corner, observing for now so he can figure out
how he can interact without one of them trying to alert Sonic.
It was the last thing he'll ever need to deal with in the
situation he's in. Come to think of it, he might be within the
city of the freedom fighters and that definitely can't be good.

[i] Brief concern passing over the fennecs features, givens Umis
sudden departure, before she can leave, the female pressed the
right amount of money into her palm.
"Like i said, it's on me Umi.."
Watching her new friend wearily for a few moments, she turned
her attention back to Sally, an eye brow slightly raising. As
much as she admired and respected her childhood best friend
sometimes she had a tendency to be a little ..forward, and
granted that was usually her way, it being within her
personality, but still. Drumming her fingers gently against the
table counter top, she thought about her next sentences
carefully.
"Um Sally, i think when Umi comes back you need to provide some
explanation about what just happened, i mean i obviously know
what your gadgets can do, but for someone thats just met you
having their picture randomly snapped is going to be cause for
alarm."
Letting out a nervous giggle, she continued.
"And as for what happened with Sonic and Shadow, well.. you know
how he gets whenever Shadow is concerned. I-It all just spiraled
out of control, and i couldn't get him to listen.. i mean i'm
lucky Umi helped me out on damage control, otherwise things
would of been a whole lot worse, and now they're duking it out..
"
For reasons unknown to her, Sonya suddenly felt a wave of unease
spread through her bones, and it was something none anxiety
related for a change. Her fists clenching, her confident
care-free expression dropped there and then, her large eats
continuously flickering.

When Sonya introduced the orange hedgehog as one of Soinc's
friends, Sally became instantly standoffish, refusing to shake
Umi's hand. Sally would have normally noticed Scourge by now
however her mind was elsewhere concerning Umi and her relation
to Sonic. Taking the seat her old friend offered she started
idly doodling notes on a napkin as Sonya spoke. "She noticed
that? I would have thought the photo function was more discrete
than that, I'll have to look into upgrading these with a stealth
photo function. I do suppose, I owe the girl an apology. Forgive
me, Sonya my mind is elsewhere, I'm up to my neck in royal
duties, rebuilding the city and.....there's the breakup." She
said looking down with a somber smile trying to keep a brave
face.
When the medic brought up Sonic AGAIN Sally's grip tightened
snapping the pencil in frustration. "Sonya, I'd really
appreciate if we could avoid talking about my ex-boyfriend at
the moment. Teen drama is the last thing I need when this city
has so much left to rebuild." Not that she'd ever admit it but
thoughts of Sonic being with Umi were racing through her mind
causing her to dislike the orange hedgehog even more. Sally had
been under a large amount of stress lately and Sonic being a
larger than life figure made it hard to avoid conversation about
him. It seems Sally had taken their separation much worse than
the blue furred hero; however then again he was currently
engaged in a street brawl with the Ultimate Lifeform, so perhaps
he did still care. Sally seemed disappointed in her friend's
insensitivity on the topic as she repeatedly brought Sonic up;
The Princess was lucky she wasn't privy to the information her
little fox friend had a romantic dinner with her ex.

[i] Picking up on the animosity almost instantly, it was no
wonder the fennec was confused. Although the confusion was soon,
cleared upon the chipmunks further explanation. Which personally
floored her, the last thing Sonya had expected to hear today was
that Sonic and Sally were no longer Sonic and Sally, the very
idea was baffling to her, but now it all made sense with Sallys
sudden stand off ish attitude. Her ears half flattening, she
tried to think of an appropriate way to respond, and knowing
that Sally was no doubt in a very sensitive place, she knew she
was going to have to tread carefully.
"Sally .. firstly if i had known, about what was going on
between you two, then i wouldn't have brought him up so
carelessly, nor would i keep bringing him up so carelessly, but
you asked what happened to me and Umi, and the only way i can
explain that you to is through mentioning him, so i'm sorry if i
seem uncharacteristically insensitive, but how else am i
supposed to fill you in?"
The fennec was surprised at how firm, her tone had suddenly
become, usually she had no reason to put her foot down, with her
close friend, but this childish behavior wasn't on, and what was
worse was that it wasn't usually Sallys forte.
"It's more than clear that your're bottling up your emotions
again .. and you don't have to do that with me, remember?,
your'll have this city rebuilt in no time, your're just going
through a lot right now.. and for what it's worth, i'm sorry,
you know that i wouldn't deliberately say things to upset you..
so please don't think i repeatedly made mentions on purpose."
Giving her a gentle nudge in the side, the female continued.
"Also just in case your're wondering, it's not what you think,
Umi and Sonic are just friends, so cool it on the hostility
front okay?"
Not able to disguise her disapproval at how coldly she'd reacted
to meeting Umi,the female found herself pushing herself gently
from the table.
"I'm going inside to check on Umi, just .. take a breather until
we come back."
Ignoring the dizzying sensation, that hit her from moving, she
wandered into the cafe, the sudden sounds and stares of the
general public, setting off her anxiety. Regardless it didn't
take her long to casually scout the room, and find Umi in line.
"Sorry, excuse me.."
Ignoring the subtle glares of the mobians behind Umi, the fennec
tapped her new friend gently on the shoulder.
"Umi .. i'm really sorry, she's not usually like that."
