April shower, May flower.

Valentine had recently moved near the city with her older
brother and they were still trying to get used to the city
folks. Despite their efforts, a few things remained too subtle
for Valentine to comprehend just yet. Today was her turn to go
get the groceries abd she went to the public market but she
hadn't catched up with the monetary system yet and after the
defeat of Eggman everyone seemed tense.
Val carried a woven basket with her right arm and the rings in
tiny bag she carried at her waist. The sounds of rings tingking
and her naive look had the merchants attention pretty
quickly.(especially the greedy ones.) Valentine stopped by an
herb and spices stand and ordered a few grams of real saffron,
basil, nutmeg.
-"It'll be 15 rings for your order miss." Little she knew but
the merchant was raising his price with her because she was a
stranger. "15...?" Val asked confused before shoving her hand in
her bag to get the rings out. It was her first time on the
market because Sacha was busy working in town to sustain them.

It wasn't too long before a small cough was heard behind
Valentine. " !5 rings? You sure about that buddy because you
charged me 5 rings for the herbs yesterday...are you trying to
swindle the new girl? " Sakura said a she had a hand on her hip
and a stern look on her face as if she was annoyed with the
merchant.
She looked at the girl before shaking her head lightly. " Don't
mind him he's just trying to get a bit more than he needs. " she
replied with a smile.

Valentine looked surprised, was the merchant really trying to
swindle her? "Are you really being greedy mister?" She asked
with her shy voice tone and her smile disappeared. "Hehh...it's
the inflation!" Responded the merchant hoping he would get away
with an excuse. "Besides the taxes apply and I have to rebuild
after all the destruction!" the merchant kept trying to justify
his conduct. "I...this should helo you kind sir for the damage."
she gave him 7 rings turned herself to her would be rescuer.
-"Thank you, it seems I would have spent all if you didn't
aooear in time." She smiled and leaned her head to the left
while shoving her herbs into her basket. "But...whom should I
thank?"

" You sure are a real piece of work dude..." she replied with a
disappointed look on her face before turning to Valentine as she
spoke to her. By the way she talked, Sakura assumed she wasn't
from around here at all. She simply rubbed her head lightly
before responding.
" It's quite alright miss. The name's Sakura. From the sound of
things you must be new here. " she address the girl before
glancing at the merchant again before returning her gaze towards
Valentine.

She smiled and bowed to her. "You would be right, I am from the
northern forests and my brother and I only moved here recently."
She then lean toward Sakura and looked at her. As if she saw
something. "Huh...you remind me of someone. I can't pinpoint
whom exactly. Mother use to say it's a memory from a past life."
Then she took a step back and regained her composure. "Tell me,
where could I find these?" She asked Sakura with a paper in her
hand. It was obviously a grocery lift.

Sakura raised a brow a little as Valentine explained her
original place of stay. " The northern forests? Isn't it chilly
up there?" she asked. She then blinked a little as Valentine got
closer to her. " A past life?.....well my mom believes in that
stuff though I can somewhat see what you mean. " she replied as
she rubbed her chin in thought.
It was then she was shown a list of items. Clearly a shopping
list. " Oh..i think I've seen those before. Why don't I help you
out and you can tell me about yourself...if you're ok with that
of course. " she replied with a smile.

"Off course, my brother says I should familiarize myself with
our new environment." She said nodding and walked in the
direction Sakura shown her. "I come from a lineage of witches
from the north... But my brother and I needed to explore the
world." She briefly explained to her new guide.
She noticed that Sakura spoke of her mother believing in past
lives. "Does your mother practices the Craft as well?" She asked
her with a hint of curiosity in her eyes.

" Witches? Like magic with spells and stuff?" she asked with a
tilt of her head before stopping for a moment in thought. She
then continued her walk with Valentine as she showed her around
the area. " Well not really...she uses elemental powers. She
controls lightning. My father controls fire. ...me personally
harness both as one. " Sakura replied.
She then held her hand out as a small ball of fire mixed with
lightning swirled in her open palm. It wasn't a strong energy
but just enough to show her new friend. " So do you know any
spells? " she asked.

"I do know a few spells but my familiar would disagree with me
using them just to make a demonstration. He would call it a
waste..." She said after exhaling a sigh. "But I could introduce
you to my familiar of you want. He's not a fan of strangers but
I sure he can make an exception." She giggled and stopped by a
stand to get the ingredients for tonight's dinner. Then a raven
flew in their direction. "Valentine! Still chatting with the
locals I see!" The Raven yelled before landing over her
shoulder. The bird barely looked around of him but stared at
Sakura. "Poe meet..." but she was interrupted by her familiar.
"Your new friend?" he asked mockingly.

" Oh I see.." she began as they stopped by a stand to pick up
more ingredients. It was then the mention of her familiar that
made Sakura tilt her head in confusion. Soon after a raven
arrived and boy was he chatty. Sakura let out a small chuckle at
the bird before nodding lightly.
" Pretty loud familiar you got there. Nice to meet you Poe."
Sakura replied with a small wave.
