Ignore This! Just stuff I'm Backing Up

RUSH! takes place on an extraordinary world; the people who
inhabit this planet are granted great powers by the world’s core
upon mastering a certain skill or discipline. There are
brilliant scientists who can move objects with their minds &
make-up artists that can change their entire appearance at will.
Once a person has earned a power it is theirs to keep as a
reward for all the hard work and dedication to their craft. No
two people on the world posses the same power, as only one
person may have a certain power at a time, making people who
have earned a particularly powerful ability a prime target for
assassins who’ll make the ability available by killing the
current holder.
The story is primarily set in a Las Vegas inspired town called
Rapid City. Karahl is a stealthy humanoid tigress that has
mastered the deadly arts of the Snow-Claw Clan. This lovely lady
can tear an aircraft carrier in half with her bare hands. Karahl
is a filthy rich paid assassin and puts her wealth to use buying
a local struggling detective agency. The agency is founded by a
superhero called Bolt, Bolt is an egotistical speedster able to
zip around the entire world in less than a nanosecond with his
limitless speed; he’s a living thunderbolt in human form,Bolt's
been using his powers to combat crime for years but now he has
to deal with working for a cold blooded killer.
Among the otherwise unremarkable population of this sin-drenched
city Bolt & Karahl stand above the rest as between the two they
are the fastest and strongest in the city they are unstoppable
heroes who use their unique gifts to protect their city.
Together the two run a private detective agency called, ‘Hero
For Hire’. Between Bolt’s glory hogging-fame and Karahl’s
questionable night time ventures these heroes are far from
perfect, but what better protectors could their be for a city
already on its way to hell?
In short it's the story of what happens when a superhero is
forced to work with an evil assassin.
Our Protagonist is Bolt a super powered speedster who fights for
glory and fame, he doesn't have a tragic backstory involving the
loss of a loved one or an origin rooted in responsibility, Bolt
is quite the opposite in fact. He was just a kid who grew up
reading comics and wanted to become a superhero. After working
his ass off to get his powers he opened a detective agency from
which he operates as the cities protector. Bolt's ultimate goal
is to become the greatest hero the world has ever known, he's
already well on his way with the mayor naming the city after
him. Speed defines him as a person, as such he wants to leave
such an impact attached to having super speed that any person
possessing the same ability that comes before or after are
unable to escape his shadow.
Karahl is a ninja who also happens to be a humanoid tiger, she
is the deuteragonist and Bolt's crime fighting partner & Boss.
Bolt detests working for a hired killer but she saved him from
bankruptcy and he respects her skills. Karahl kills a lot of
people in secret and as such she wanted something heroic
attached to her image to throw suspicion off herself. The two
get along like matches & dynamite constant butting heads as they
fight criminals and threats to the city all while flirting and
taking comical cracks at each other. The two work so well as a
duo as Bolt is cocky & comical where Karahl is stern and
serious.
The Antagonist is Vesper a cruel crime lord able to manipulate
minds. She's a vampric puppet master & a former flame of Bolt's.
Unhinged and bloody thirsty ever since their breakup Vesper has
sworn to take control of the city Bolt protects, she's a
manipulate control freak completely obsessed with bringing her
former lover under her boot and she'll tear the city apart with
her many minions to do it.
The whole underlying theme of RUSH! is hard work pays off & you
can be whoever you want to be, as every person in the story
started out as a normal human and earned their powers through
hard work.
The fact it features two very self centered leads that help
themselfves as much as they help others. This adds a relatable
quality to the cast as when people think about having super
powers the first thing they think of his how they can help
themselves.
On the surface RUSH! is a story of a hero being forced to work
for an evil assassin so she has a cover story for her murders
and their adventures as they save their city. However on a
deeper level RUSH! represents something we can all relate to,
the desire to become the people we envision in our heads. The
way the world of RUSH! works the moment you master something
better than anybody else you are rewarded with a super power
relating to that skill and nobody else can take that from you,
until you die. Bolt started running and got super speed, Karahl
became an assassin and gained the body of a tiger to help with
her hunting.
I want the cast of this book to relay to the readers you can
become those people you envision in your head with dedication
and hard work.
My partner & I came up with the concept for RUSH! out of a
desire to tell stories about self-centered self-made heroes. We
as a creative team are better suited to tell our tale better
than anybody else because we understand what it means to hone a
skill through practice then define yourself through that skill
much like our leads & their powers. We have many experiences to
draw from for this IP from our experiences with other comic book
creators, the comic community and even our relationship that
made this work possible.
The first issue being mostly done is 49 pages long. I picture
every book being roughly 40-50 pages every issue. As for the
number of Issues we have ideas for at 10-12 issues with room to
expand well beyond that.
We enjoy the edge & the non traditional style of black mask
titles. We as a team appreciate the shades of gray approach to
story telling we've enjoyed in your books, feeling this would be
a perfect fit for a story about a hero morally lax enough to
work for a hired killer, while he'd never take a life himself.
The Unforgiving Assassin
Karahl is a ninja who also happens to be a humanoid tiger, she
is the deuteragonist and Bolt's crime fighting partner/Boss.
The two work so well as a
duo as Bolt is cocky & comical where Karahl is stern and
serious.
The Vampire Crime Lord
The Antagonist is Vesper a cruel crime lord able to manipulate
minds. She's a vampric puppet-master & a former flame of Bolt's.
Unhinged and bloody thirsty ever since their breakup Vesper has
sworn to take control of the city Bolt protects, she's a
manipulative control freak completely obsessed with bringing her
former lover under her boot and she'll tear the city apart with
her many minions to do it.
The Butler
Loyal to a fault and willing to do anything to please his
mistress Axis is Vesper's right hand, dealing with all matters
Vesper's deems to trivial to touch herself. Well spoken, polite
and well groomed, Axis is the very model of obedience Vesper
craves from her servants.
