Re: Upgrading Val's wardrobe... what could possibly go wrong? [S

Maria heard what Pan said but didn't want to believe it. The
nerve of that girl was just unbelievable. Frankly, as much as
she was against... and the fact that she had been the one to
protect Pan from Val attempting to hit her, she now was in a
situation where she thought a slap on the cheek would be the
best course of action. Still, she restrained herself, although
she had tensed up a lot while that thought had gone through her
head.
Sabine wasn't as restrained and took a hold of the teen's lower
jaw and forced her to look her straight in the eyes.
"Meet me on the parking lot," she snarled before letting go of
her, "that kind of behavior doesn't fly with me, you little
punk."
As the crushing sound was heard from the handbag both women fell
quiet. It didn't take a genius to figure out what had been
destroyed and Val's facial expression made it all the worse. It
definitely seemed to have unnerved Pan as she turned to Maria
and even address her as Auntie, something she normally wouldn't
do in public as far as Maria had gathered.
"Well... i think you may have pushed it too far," Maria trailed
as she tried to figure out how to say it, "your mother has been
through a lot, both good and bad, mostly bad. So... the way
you're acting right now have been testing her and really pushing
her. Now you've pushed her too far and paid a heavy price for
it."

Val didn't react to either Pan or Viera she had enough and
walked into the first store she found and just browsed around
the store. " Are we not supposed to shop for new clothes? " She
didn't smile and spoke on a neutral tone. Which made Pan even
more uncomfortable. " I will accept any punishement if any of
you can turn my mother back to normal..." The teenager said
showing genuine concern for her mother. It was as if she had
realised she went too far or she was a good actress.
The dire wolf roamed the store but didn't seemed at ease but
still managed avoid all contact with the clerks who themselves
seemed quite unsure of what to do their new customer. It was a
pathetic spectacle but again, she wasn't used to these modern
comodities

Veira sighed a bit and gave a small nod as she followed Val
around the store. She too was a bit concerned for her friend.
What could she say or do to get her back to a stable mindset.
This side of Val was lost to Veira. " So I take it you two
haven't really tried talking to one another? " Veira asked her
friend as she browsed through clothes.

"In that case, i think Sabine has you covered," Maria answered
Pandora with a downtrodden expression, "as for your mother, the
best we can do right now is probably keep going. Then, when all
this is over, we can have a talk with her."
"Trust me, i will make you regret ever saying that," Sabine
added with sinister smile, though whether she was referring to
the insult or the willingness for punishment was left unclear.
For now it would seem all they could do was follow Val into the
store.
Their help certainly seemed to be needed when the two saw how it
was panning out in the store, with both the dire wolf and store
staff seemingly unsure of how to handle this.
"So, what should we shoot for?" Maria asked the others, "we were
here for something casual which would make easier to blend in."
"Hell if i know, a pair of jeans and a loose shirt," Sabine
suggested with a shrug, "served me well enough."

"Something casual? Jeans? What are those?" She asked with an
arched eyebrow. Val wasn't the type to follow the current trends
or inform herself of the modern fashion standards.
" Ehh.... I think that this is gonna be harder than expected..."
She said then released a sigh. While her daughter swallowed her
pride and walked to no one else than Viera. Her mother's special
friend. "Viera , it is no secret that I am not fond of you
but... I think I know what my mother could wear but she won't
listen to me and if someone can help her change her mind it's
you..." Her ears lowered and she grimaced while saying each
words. "Try a black dress... It never goes out of style and
choose a summer one to reveal her calves...so she won't look to
uptight..." The teen's facial expression was closer than genuine
disgust than compassion but at least she tried, no?

Veira looked around until Pandora made her way to the huntress
and suggested an idea. She looked at the teen a bi skeptical at
first but then realized she had some truth behind it given she
wore the same thing to impress Blaze a bit. Her own cheeks
flushed red for a second before clearly her throat. " Perhaps
you're on to something Pandora....thanks for that advice. " she
addressed the teen by patting her head a bit and walking off to
Val.
"Hey Val how about this summer black dress? I think it will look
good on you. " Veira replied as she showed her the dress.

Maria and Sabine exchanged glances at Val's response, they
weren't really surprised if they were being honest and, if she
was being completely honest, Sabine didn't even find it funny.
How could she NOT know what that was? It was evident that she
was hopelessly lost, but that wasn't going to deter them and
indeed even Pandora was going to help them out.
"That could work, it wouldn't be that big of change but still
make you blend in better," Maria nodded in agreement.
Sabine just shrugged at it, honestly she just thought it would
make her look like one from the higher society, which was a lie.
But what did she know about fashion. "I suppose it is better
than what you have now."

"I suppose so.." She glanced at her old fashioned(medieval) gown
and grabbed a black dress with an open back and no shoulder
straps. " It can't hurt to try..." Her discouragement wasn't
helping the clerks still unsure if they should intervene or not.
While the teenage girl ran off to find a decent pair or red
heels and a few accessories that would make her mother look like
a modern citizen and while browsing the store for the said items
sighed." I can't believe I'm doing this... Hell she might even
find a decent date..." The teen brushed off the thought
chuckling. "As if...mom with a date..hue hue"
Val entered the changing room and slipped in the dress. As she
pulled the fabric around herself she felt a bit different. Her
chest wasn't much covered. Which cause her to blush in front of
the looking glass." I shan't walk out of this room dressed like
that! What would everyone think?" She asked herself out loud ,
forgetting everyone elses might have heard it. While her
daughter's ears pearked up. "It's called being feminine...you
should try once in a while.."She whispered before bringing the
red heels and black jewelry to her mother's friend." just
suggest her that.." She said feigning disgust.

veira turned a small shade of red as she heard Val's comment
while behind the dressing room door. She mentally kicked herself
for thinking down those lines before clearing her throat again
hearing Padora's comment. " Why would that be so hard to
believe? " she asked the teen as she crossed her arms slightly.

Maria and Sabine looked towards Pan as she went off to find some
accessories while talking to herself about the potential for her
mother finding a boyfriend before laughing it off, much to
Maria's disapproval although she kept it to herself for now. She
shouldn't say that, with some many various mobians in the world
there had to be one that would fit with Val.
That train of thought was, however, disrupted by Val's comment
about how the dress was too revealing and while it was likely in
relation to what she normally wore it made Maira shake her head
while Sabine tried her best to not burst into laughter.
"Don't worry about it too much Val," Maria tried to reassure the
dire wolf, "the world has moved on from what you're used to. It
won't be too eye-catching, i promise."
"Yeah, as your daughter said, it's what it means to be
feminine," Sabine added, "i am sure it can't be that bad."
"As if you would know what it means to be feminine," Maria said
while rolling her eyes, "if Val has to try and be feminine, i
would suggest you join her in that endeavor."
"No way, Hawkins, because i know what it entails, i just chose
to ignore it," the panther retorted before a grin appeared on
her face while she rubbed her hands, "okay, if i have to do
that, then i say you have to ditch that jumpsuit you always
wear, and put on something more feminine as well. And no, you
normal, overly conservative jeans and long-sleeved shirts or
jackets won't qualify. How is that for an agreement?"
"Let's just wait and see how this turns out," Maria answered, it
was clear the idea wasn't very appealing to her given how
self-aware she was.
