Upgrading Val's wardrobe... what could possibly go wrong? [Set a
fter Arc]

Time had passed since the bar-fight and ritual. Val had given
birth to the child and named her Pandora after Veira's
suggestion and now lived in her own apartment with her daughter.
She had also managed to get a job as a botanist and managed to
send Pandora off to school.
Despite her progress she was still uncomfortable with
technology, something her daughter wasn't. This has meant that
Maria, Sabine and Veira still were there to help her when she
needed it, granted Sabine was still slightly on the fence about
it. Regardless, the progress so far was encouraging so they were
confident she could make it.
Today, however, something else was on the list of things to do.
It was time to help Val update her wardrobe to fit the times.
While she could easily live like this, it would help her blend
in and perhaps make her more comfortable as she didn't stand out
like a sore thump.
That was Maria's reasoning anyway as she made her way for the
apartment. Sabine was coming along too. Partly because she
didn't want to miss this and partly because she was going to be
the pack-mule, whether she liked it or not.

Val dreaded the day she would have to change her wardrobe.
Pandora had been very insistant about it. 'My mom is such a ...'
She remembered, these word had broke her heart. But today would
be a good day, the girls were coming and it shouldn't be that
difficult. For once she took a day off to enjoy herself with her
friends, knowing that a wardrobe change was a huge step for her.
Maybe it would be good too and her daughter would probably
follow knowing that her aunts would be around.
"Mooooommm! You better get ready faster, we're not going to the
mall everyday...and you need new clothes, these rags are not
cool" the arrogant teen said to her mother. She didn't seem to
realise the impact her words had but it was too late.
"Yes sweety, we still need to wait for them to arrive first" Val
responded while her daughter sighed and rolled her eyes in
annoyance. Their relationship wasn't perfect, but at least they
talked to each other..?

it had been quite some time since Veira had a normal day off
without much to do. Blaze decided to take part in doing some
solo missions for a change. Guess all those times saving the
world has made him more independent? It was a girls day out and
she was going to enjoy the most of it. She had arrived just a
little bit early before knocking on Val's door. She wonder who
she would run into first. Val or Pandora. If memory served those
two weren't normally on balanced terms. She kind of wondered how
her life with her daughter will turn out.

"This is gonna be a blast," Sabine snickered as they reached the
apartment building, "i still can't believe she hasn't changed
her looks yet."
"It takes time to adapt Sabine, i already told you this," Maria
sighed while they climbed the stairs, "it isn't like flicking a
switch."
"I get that, but really, you know Pandora can't handle it. You
would think she would have caved at some point.
"That is not the way to think of this, their differences are
driving them apart," Maria said with a concerned voice, "it is
holding together but you know, as well as i, that it might not
be able to continue."
"Whatever you say, Hawkins," Sabine sighed and rolled her eyes
as they stood outside the door to the apartment, "let's just get
this show on the road. I am dying to see how this is going
down."
Maria didn't even respond to the panther and instead just
knocked on the door, "Hey, Val, you're ready?"

Pandora ran to the door with a smile but once she opened it to
see Viera on the other side her smile turned into a frown." huh,
it's only you....Moooommm...She's there..Then noticed auntie
Maria and Sabine behind her and her annoyed glance disappeared
and she pushed Viera asise to run to the girls." I've missed you
two!" For once she wasn't on her phone. Val soon appeared behind
her daughter." Sweety be nice..oh.." She noticed Viera and
replaced her hair behind her ear and hugged Viera. "Hello sweety
" She said with a joyful tone and a quirky smile which cause
Pandora to grimace.
"M-mooomm...not infront of everyone ..." She sighed and rolled
her eyes. The teenager's attitude was painful for Val's heart
but maybe someday she'll understand. "I suppose today is the
fateful day..? Val asked a little worried. She was still wearing
one of her peasent long beige dresses with an apron covered in
dirt from her job as a botanist." Hello girls , It's good to see
you!"

When the door opened up, Pandora was the first to greet the
huntress. And her response wasn't a big surprise to be honest. "
Nice to see you too kid...." Veira replied as she let out a
small sigh rubbing her head. It was then Maria and Sabine showed
up behind her. Pandora's mood changed rather quickly when they
showed up. Veira said nothing on this and simply watched.
It was then Val came out and hugged Veira. Returning the hug,
she nodded to her friend. " Yeah today's the day we try and
upgrade your clothing. Hopefully this will get Pandora to ease
up on the words....I still can't see what she sees in them two
but I guess I will find out sometime later maybe..." she
replied.

As the door opened Maria frowned at how Pandora greeted Veira.
She knew the young dire wolf didn't like the wolf, but that
didn't give her the right to act like that.
Even then, she did smile when she came running over to them.
"Same, it's been a while, hasn't it?" Maria asked back and then
went to hug Val and Veira, "its good seeing both of you again, i
trust it has't been too bad since the last time we met."
Sabine meanwhile gave Pan a pat on the back and smiled, "hah,
the feeling is mutual. So what have we been missing, kid?"
"And yes, we are here to help you fit in more in terms of
clothing. Hopefully it will make it easier for you to blend into
the crowd... and hopefully help bridge the gap between you and
Pandora," Maria continued before looking at Veira, "frankly i
don't know either. I just hope she'll learn to appreciate you
and Val. She seems blind to the effort you two have put into
this."
"Okay, that's all nice and dandy. Now, let's get going," Sabine
said and gestured down the stairs, "i am dying to see how this
turns out."
It was clear the panther was looking forward to see how Val
would fair. It was pretty much why she tagged along in the
beginning. Now, after being here so long, she just wanted to see
how it all ended.

Pandora smiled ather aunts:" Nawh , mom didn't annoy me too
much, but her wardrobe though, I can't bring friemds here woth
lookin' like dat" The teenager said on a disgusted tone. "What
would they think about me?" She was quickly intereupted by her
mother." Besides her usual shenanigans , nothing has changed, at
least this time the principal of her school didn't call me to
report her behavior." She seemed exhausted and sad but she had
to keep calm for her child's sake. Since Pandora's birth her
magic was restored but she didn't use to give Pandora a good
example and to protect her. But her daughter caused her so much
problems lately." I suppose it is time to go.." She sighed at
the thought ehile Pan was excited."Weeee let's go already!"

Veira returned the hug to Maria before looking at Sabine. She
was curious how Maria convinced her to come but then again...it
didn't take long to figure out why she was really there. Veira
patted Val before smiling. " Don't worry Val it will be fine. "
she replied with a smile. She then turned to Pandora and nodded.
" Right let's get going.." she finished before heading
downstairs.

"Don't talk about your mother that way," Maria sighed while
heading down the stairs, "you have no idea what she's gone
through before you were born."
Even then, Maria couldn't really be too angry at the child. She
knew it was a phase and she would grow up eventually, or so she
hoped. She had to grow more mature at some point, right?
The mall itself was buzzing with life as mobians were going
about there day, getting what they needed or wanted. Now the big
question was where to start the search. Given how Maria actually
preferred her uniform and Sabine rarely buying anything, they
might not be the best bets.
"So, where do you suggest we begin," Maria asked the group, "i
am, frankly, a bit at a loss."
