Backstory: Umi was a nobody from somewhere in the depths of
Sunset Heights, living in foster car until she hit puberty at
the age of 12 and was kicked out once she was showing signs of
her powers and flooding her caretakers' homes. After some years
alone practically on the streets, Umi heard whispers of a
certain blue hedgehog with great speed saving the world from
time to time and had hope that one day she would be able to
control her powers just as he had. She needed to prove to
herself and to the world that she was not just a reckless
endangerment ready to happen, and that she was worth her life.
Then one day, opportunity struck once the Eggman Empire settled
in for those long, painful six months and Sonic went missing.
Hearing this only made Umi want to join the Resistance and fight
against the evil Empire. While she was certainly not a major
player by the end of the war, this experience only urged her on
to continue harnessing her powers and maybe, one day, even Sonic
will give her the light of day and some regard.
