[Arc] Familiar place, Familiar face?
By: Sapphire Date: April 11, 2017, 4:29 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Team Trouble, after reaching their emeralds and the ends of
their tunnels would feel that feeling of being yanked once more,
like they had when they first entered this time. Their yank
would end once the group had hit solid ground once more, finding
themselves in a corridor with marbled walls and floors aside
from the red carpet that trailed along the floor in a line
heading to all the doors it could reach. The ceiling looked like
a galaxy of colours and stars and appeared to be shimmering and
moving ever so slightly as well.
There where two doors at either end of the hall, the one on the
right was slightly open, while the one to the left was
completely open, yet both had security code panels beside them
as wall...
The right door seemed to lead outside or at least, the breeze
coming from it suggested as such. The left suggested it lead to
more of the building they seemed to have landed inside....
Sapphire was already waiting for the rest of them at the other
end, when they reached the area, she would be standing by,
fiddling with her right wrist bangle. She'd look up once the
group had all came through though, tilting her head for a few
moments before she'd smile lightly, almost forcibly. "Glad to
see you all made it through okay" She'd say softly as she stood
up straight and held up a light blue emerald shaped gem, the
chaos emerald in her tunnel. "Did you manage to catch your
emeralds?" The young hedgehog would ask, raising an eyebrow as
she looked over the others in their little group of a team.
"Also if we head left, I think we will have a better chance of
finding the others"

Once again Maria felt all air leave her lungs as she was wanted
into the light. It was like she was going to the future all over
again and then, just as soon as it came, it ended and she was on
solid again, wobbling a bit, but she was still standing,
clutching her emerald. However, all that was forgotten when she
was the room they were landed in.
"WOW, would you look at this," she muttered while gazing at the
ceiling, "say what you want, SHE does have artistic sense."
Maria then turned at Sapphire and nodded and she asked about the
emerald, "ye- yes, i got it... don't worry, i will protect it
with my life. No one will be allowed to wield it... its frankly
terrifying power."
One thing she noticed as the young hedgehog spoke was her smile
seemed... well, kinda off. She wasn't sure why but she wasn't
really sure if it was worth asking about. Right now there were
more important things to worry about. Still... she couldn't stay
her mouth, she felt compelled to ask to make sure she was
alright.
"Um, is... everything alright, ma'am?" she asked Sapphire
quickly before focusing on what she said about the doors, "while
i do agree that going left is easier... the other is also open,
why can't we just... sneak a peak, to know all the faculties?"

Val appeared crashlanding on the ground with her broomstick
being broke into splinters and rolled on the ground like a
ragdoll thrown by a child throwing a tantrum and once her
movement ended she rose her hand holding her emerald in the
air." Got the shiny power rock...I'm okay.." she said laughing
despite the pain. "Anyone can reach into my bag and give me my
painkiller."

[center][glow=green,2,300]"YEAAAAAH!!"[/glow][/center]
The energetic voice of Ashura designated his doubly energetic
arrival, appearing mid air, he landed on his feet and skidded a
few feet forward, dust suddenly scuffed upwards. "Heheheh~!" He
stood triumphantly, Green Chaos Emerald in hand, as he held it
up. "Hey guys, look what I found!" Ashura showed it to the
group. "Another cool rock~ Now I've got two of em!"
Of course, he noticed that the group had managed to collect some
of their own. "Oh wow, nice, the ones you found are pretty cool
too." He looked upon his own with childish glee, not hearing
that Sapphire or anyone else mentioning what they were exactly.
"So many good luck charms, oh boy."

"Hmmmm?.. Oh.. Yeah I'm alright. Everything is handy dandy"
Sapphire would say in response to Maria asking if she was
alright, accompanying her response with a cheesy smile and
thumbs up.
When Val crash landed, she blinked, before she'd reach down into
the witch's bag to find the painkillers she wanted, the hedgehog
would pull out the first thing she got her hands on from within
the bag, which happened to be some dried fruits and nuts, she
would hold it all out to Val, "Is this the painkillers?"
Afterwards, she would look to Ashura, whom seemed over excited
over getting the chaos emerald, although he didnt seem to know
exactly what it was and claimed to have two of them. "Two of
them? You had another chaos emerald on you? May I see it?" She
would ask, for a second her eyes would narrow at the other
hedgehog, it was soon replaced with her signature smile though.
She wouldn't look to Maria as she answered her question about
the doors, "I mean. Sure, you can go peak if you want but, the
outside is guarded, probably even more then the inside is, and
our friends where warped to HER office.. Most likely, so they
are inside somewhere, we need to go in deeper if we wish to find
them." She would explain as she made sure the emerald was
secured inside one of her bracelets before she started to head
for the right door. She would stare off into space quite
literally, staring up at the galaxy themed ceiling as it moved,
waiting for the others to follow her to the door, she wouldnt
wait long though. pushing the door open and looking both ways
before simply wandering on in to the next area.
The next room was circular in shape, in the center of the room
stood a statue, a life-sized one made of pure gold in the shape
of Sonic the Hedgehog, although a bit taller and more matured
looking. The statue stood atop a podium of white marble. The
statue was odd though. Rather then giving him a pose that made
sense for the hedgehog to have, he was instead in pose that was
as though it was Sonic had been frozen in time. Was this really
just a statue?... The gold hedgehog was knelt down on top of the
podium on all fours, one arm reaching out, like he was calling
for help or reaching out to someone else who needed help.
"Here lies Sonic the Hedgehog. Mobius' Greatest Hero. Fallen."
Behind the statue, three doors stood waiting for the crew. The
right door was slightly ajar. The other two did not seem
recently used. The center one seemed so unused, that the keypad
that was used to unlock the doors, for that door, had no glowing
lights to suggest it was even still on. "Hmmmmm..."

"Huh?" Ashura blinked at Sapphire. Was... Was she interested in
the cool rock?! Finally, someone with taste! "Yeah, yeah! Wanna
see?" He would bounce over to Sapphire, fully just excited that
someone was interested in his good luck charm that he held so
dear. Rummaging around in his carrying pouch he brought out a
very interesting gem. He would very gently hand it over to
Sapphire; indicating it was something of great importance to him
with how he did so. It was both scattered with blue and green,
and no matter what angle it wa viewed from, the colours were the
same and in the same spot; completely static and identical in
everyone's perception, similar to the effect of eyes in a
picture always looking at you if you looked back at them while
moving. Anyone proficient in perceiving Chaos Energy, or any
energy at all would be able to notice that it had absolutely
nothing extraordinary about it besides its looks. "I mean, it
doesn't float or light up-- really it doesn't do much of
anything-- but I think its cool, cuz... My..." His cheery
expression faltered, and became incredibly sad as he zoned out
once again. His green fur dulled for a moment. "My father left
it in my care." Ashura shook his head, now wasn't time for a sad
trip down repressed memory lane. The group was here to save the
future or there won't be any memories to have. He awkwardly
cleared his throat. "Sorry, heheh. Noclipped for a second."
Thus, his signature smile also returned, as did the saturation
of his fur.
Interestingly enough; those proficient in perceiving Chaos
Energy would additionally notice that Ashura was unaffected by
the radiation coming from the Green Chaos Emerald as well as the
others that had been gathered. "Did you wanna look at this one
too? I reckon its pretty cheeky for a rock! Almost like it was
teasing me earlier, so keep an eye on it." Ashura held out the
Green Emerald, offering for Sapphire to take it if she wanted
to.
That little interaction aside; Ashura followed along, now seeing
the statue of Sonic. "Oh jeez... I don't think he'll wanna see
this..." The green glitch winced, averting his gaze. Soon enough
he reached the same three doors as Sapphire; eyeing the busted,
unused and abandoned keypad that had no lights on. "Well. Anyone
know how to work that thing? If not, I can take a risk and,
like... Touch it, I guess."

Maria nodded as Sapphire assured her that she was okay.
"That's a relief," she said and then looked at the two doors
before concluding that the left one was probably the better
choice based on what Sapph said, the last thing they needed was
to alert the entire complex to their presence, "i suppose you're
right, we have to focus on the task at hand. You people get
going. I will just sneak a peek and catch up to you afterwards."
She then carefully walked over to the right door and tried to
catch a glimpse outside for a few seconds. Her heart was in her
throat while doing so. However, given that they didn't know what
was out there it was leaving them in potential danger and she
wouldn't want to expose the others to danger if she could
prevent it. After a few seconds she slowly backed off and turned
around to catch up with the rest.
Once inside the next room, she was, once again, taken aback by
the interior decoration. This time, however, she was confused as
to the pose of the Sonic statue. She walked closer to it and
inspecting it carefully.
"I must admit, it is very beautiful, no doubt expensive as well.
But why would one pay to have it made out of pure gold and get
it a white marble podium if they wouldn't want to honor him?"
she asked the others. She knew it could be to mock the famous
hero, but then again, why go to such expenses. Surely just
making it cheaply, or better yet, just make nothing at all so he
would be forgotten would be much better? Then she saw the plaque
and actually gasped, "oh god... let's hope he at least found
peace wherever he is now."
So it was a place to commemorate the fallen hero. That made her
seriously question the statue's pose, why would they portray him
as such? Then again, SHE wasn't the kindest mobian to have
lived.
After a moment of silence she came over to the doors. Two of
them were in bad condition and the keypad on the one in the
middle was even offline it seemed. She first dared to sneak a
little peek in through the right one, being careful not to move
it even if it ruined her ability to view the room beyond it.
Then she came to the one in the middle with the disabled keypad.
"I am no technician, so i couldn't get it to work, sadly," she
told Ashura, "however, should everything else fail, i can try to
shoot the door off down... it wouldn't be the most silent method
though."
She went to check on the left door, trying to determine how old
the wood was. If it was old enough, it might be weakened to the
point that they could smash their way through it. She did the
same thing to the center door.

Val gently sat down and sniffed what Sapphire and retrived from
and bag.:" No but they will do those berries are not painkillers
per say but their poison will do the job. To me they are
harmless.." She explaned before licking them off Sapphire's hand
and stood up and followed the others while munching on her
snack. As she recalled from her fall they were chasing some kind
of shiny grey rocks, and those shiny stones were "powerful" to
say the least. While chewing she chouldn't help but think about
these powerful items until she bumped into the giant statue as
she was lost in her tought. "Ow! .." and hurted her nose."
What's the point of placing...ohhhhhh" A giant metallic hedgehog
that looked familiar and she finally swallowed her berries,
after a moment she realised the others have moved on to the door
that seemed to indicate three different path and a choice to
make.
The witch sat down and pulled out of her bag a tiny wooden box
and opened it to reveal a tarot deck. 78 cards she shuffled oh
the floor before placing 9 of them in a cross. She slidded her
hands across the cards hoping for their usual cryptic answer.

Following on Sonic couldn't bare the thought of what else this
nightmare world had in store then he was it, he'd always hoped
the day he got a statue he'd be cutting the ribbon and shaking
hands with the king, but this was like somebody had taken his
dream and added a cruel twist. His blue eyes grew wide as they
trailed down reading the inscription....Fallen was the one word
that really irked him, Sonic knew he couldn't live forever but
he planned on saving lives and continuing heroics until his back
gave out, this wasn't even twenty years into the future. He
looked up disgusted by the figure he saw, it looked like him, it
posed like him but he was a terrible father to Sapphire and he
let the world fall apart two things Sonic would never do. He
rolled his eyes annoyed as he crossed his arms. "As if this
nightmarish future couldn't get any worse, now I'm dead! Like
seriously way to drop the ball future me, you had one job and
you went and died?" Sonic seemed like he wasn't able to be
pushed further but this timeline found a way.
He picked up a nearby shovel that was used in the construction
of the statue and started hacking at the inscription. He slashed
and smashed the bladed digging instrument against the pedestal
until he word SONIC was no longer legible. He tossed the shovel
aside huffing turning his back to the monument of his failure.
"You don't deserve to share my name, where I come from the word
Sonic gives people hope, when I look at you all I see is a
failure as a hero and a father." Taking a moment to look back
Sonic proceeded towards the far end of the room looking for an
exit. "Let's keep moving, the sooner we can find a way home the
better."

Sapphire nodded to Ashura when he asked her if she wanted to see
the 'cool rock', she would blink looking a bit surprised as he
bounced over to her, placing a foot back before relaxing again.
The hedgehog would tilt her head as he brought out a rather
interesting gem, she held out her hands for him to gently place
it into before she'd look it over, narrowing her eyes a bit, as
even when she moved her head, the colours stayed in the same
spots, it looked rather beautiful with it's blue and green
colours, but she felt no energy coming from it.. The hedgehog
would poke it gently with her nose before tilting her head
again, looking back up at Ashura as he became sad and much
unlike how he usually was. "He made the right choice in doing
so,
you have looked after it really well! It's really cool!" She
would say with a cheery smile before she'd take the green chaos
emerald from Ashura when he offered it, the emerald's green glow
reflected on her face, a wide smile spreading across her lips as
she stared down at the emerald in her grasp for a few moments...
"Thanks Buddy~ I'll keep a close watch on it" She would almost
coo as she patted Ashura's shoulder, snapping out of the grin
and placing the emerald into her other bracelet.
Maria's peek of the door leading to the outside would show her
the outside setting, she would be able to spot a destroyed,
dusted town a short while away and three sets of footprints in
the dirt leading up to the door she was peeking out, if she
could recognize footprints, one would belong to Blaze, while the
other two showed resemblance to Sapphire and Robin. The skies
where ugly and dull, as was the plains, which lacked a lot of
greenery and life.
Aside from the setting... She may of been able to spot what
looked like movement in multiple spots around the deserted
town...
Sapphire would look to Maria when she made comment on the
statue, her eyelids lowering down sadly, "She didn't pay to get
a statue of him made out of gold" She would begin, looking up at
the golden hedgehog, "The only thing it costed to make this
was..." She'd pause for a moment to take in a breath, looking at
what would be his eyes if he wasn't a statue, her own eyes
glassing up the longer she looked at him, she would climb up the
statue a bit, placing one of her hands against the gold Sonic's
"Was.. A hero..and time.." She would try to drag herself away
from the statue afterwards, rubbing her eyes to rid her face of
tears as she brought her hand away and slipped back down. She
wanted to do more... But what could she do..
Checking the left door, Maria would find that it was not made of
wood at all, it seemed more metal.. or plastic? What was this
exactly? Getting closer to it though, she would be able to hear
a gentle hum behind it.
Sonic would feel the statue.. Radiating.. anger? When he had
scratched the name from it. As if the monument was furious at
him for doing so.
Sapphire would hold up a hand soon though, giving a light breath
before clicking her fingers "You can't operate something that's
not working... But you can smASH IT!" Her voice would peak,
giving a bit of a squeak at the end as a larger hammer appeared
in her grasp, it was her iconic hammer, bit with additional
spikes. Perhaps for extra smashing? Without another word she
would slam the hammer into the center door. Sending it flying
across the room and smashing into the wall over the otherwise of
the room ahead.
The room was empty, literally. There was nothing in it. The roof
of it however showed reflections as though there was water
somewhere and light was reflecting off of that. But there was no
water. The walls and floor kept changing colours too.
Sapphire would step in, clicking her fingers again to make the
hammer disappear, wandering in she would go stand in the center
of the room. Looking all around, upon her entering, the walls
and floors changed, they became a sorrowful blue, as if to
reflect how she was really feeling perhaps? This would change
again though, the ground closest to her seemed to be showing
pictures, scenes, memories maybe, while the rest of the room
became a vision of space. The stars, the planets, everything was
there, moving slowly, harmlessly. Sapphire herself seemed glued
to the spot. Staring off into space quite literally.
