Re: [Arc: Middle 2] The Gateway
By: Maria Hawkins Date: February 7, 2017, 2:23 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Maria realized that she was pointing and quickly lowered it with
sheepish expression. "Sorry, i didn't mean to do that... it was
a reflex."
It didn't seem to matter, while she had inadvertently agitated
the griffon the others were able to calm her down and even make
her join their cause, which was a plus.
That feeling was quickly replaced however, as Pin made her
appearance with her gigantic rotten tree golem in toe and
Sonic... wait a moment, what's Sonic doing with her? The
question plagued her mind as she witnessed Viola valiantly
charge them three only for Sonic to send her through five
buildings. She wanted to run after the griffon and help her out
but she found herself locked in place as Sonic taunted them. Was
it fear? Most likely, though Maria managed to somehow twist into
being her own shortcomings. Still, she wasn't one to let fear
bind her as she got herself to snap out of it and make a dash
for the nearest cover she could find... even if it wasn't of any
use. Then there was Sonic... or what appeared to be Sonic at
least. Honestly she wasn't sure what to think, but if his won
daughter wasn't going to call him that then that would either be
indication that something was off or Sapphire was denying the
truth.
"Laugh it up fuzzball!" she yelled back, trying to hide the fear
in her voice and barely succeeding, "what do you base your
assumption on? Your own judgement? If so then it might be time
for a reality check."
As they started to get ready Viola resurfaced, thankfully and
made her other attempt to attack the hedgehog. Maria hid behind
her wall and made lightning check. No grenades, no that could
burn effectively... except her ethanol... if she could get some
of it onto the rotten golem and ignite it... it might just give
them an upper hand. But she needed an opening.
From his inspection Sonic would be able to deduct she was
nervous and fearful with her finger itching just off the
trigger, ready to fire and in her state, she would be prone to
irrational actions.
That turned out to be correct as well as she suddenly peaked
from her cover and opened fire at Pin as she stood on top of the
golem. She figured, in her mind that she could try and end it
faster. Like most soldiers she didn't think much in direct
combat, she just did what she was taught and what her experience
had taught her as well.

Val felt anger rising inside her. Another practitioner of the
craft using her art in such a dreadful way. It triggered the
beast inside her was growing even stronger but this time instead
of going rabbid she waved her hands while a crimson circle
appeared underneath her feet. Her book of shadow began to
vibrate and emit a strange sound. Even her facial expression
changed. She looked amused and grinned then she spoke with a
guttural voice: " Parlor tricks.Oh chérie, Vaudoo ...Really?Let
me show you what a real witch can do!"She finished her sentenced
with an even deeper voice , cackling like an insane woman. She
pointed at Pin with one of her clawed fingers and thorny vines
sprouted from the ground climbing on the woodeen creature than
on the Hedgehog herself constricting them both tearing her dress
and scratching her skin as well as immobilizing her creature.
"And this Caroline seems to be an intriguing character and I'm
just dying to meet her." Val's attitude and voice was eerie as
if someone had taken control over her. The witch enthusiasm to
fight was almost unnatural then with a flick of the wrist
tightened the thorns grip over their victims." And before you
try anything funny , killing me won't destroy the vines. It will
only make them twice as aggressive.."

Sonic stomped his foot and his body erupted into a golden aura.
His blue fur erupted into a shade of brilliant gold. His blue
eyes were a glowing crimson as he glared at the party
threatening his master. With nothing more than a glance he sent
out a wave of energy that nullified the attacks of both the
griffon and the witch. However the sniper fire from Maria got
through managing to ignite her rotting golem. The wooden
behemoth went up in flames and it's master along with it. Pin
screamed in agony as fire scorched her skin. As she attempted to
get away her own creation held onto her as if pleading for help.
Pin wasn't strong enough to escape the clutches of her wooden
titan and continued to burn along with the fire wood. Super
Sonic glared at the assault upon his master and walked towards
the group. With every step he took the ground shook under his
feet. His red eyes started to glow as laser beam exploded from
his pupils tearing up the ground as it headed towards the group.
Anybody who got caught up in an energy beam this powerful would
be dead with no exceptions. All they could do was run.

Viola was thrown back when her attack failed, though she was
able to catch herself mid-air with a somewhat rocky maneuver
involving stretching out and beat her wings along with twisting
her body about. Once leveled she gasped as the lasers fired tore
up the ground towards her allies.
The knight then tore after the beam, taking a sharp turn and
knocks one of them out of the way of the blast to the side.
After a rough, crash landing she quickly got to her feet again,
"Dost mine eyes deceive me? Many akin and foe wield such power?"
she exclaimed at whomever was closest. It would seem that from
the land and time she was from, Mobians wielding super powers or
abilities wasn't as common as it was now and in the future,
"Methinks a contest in glorious battle is but a folly. What say
you?"
((I figured I would let whoever choose be the one knocked out of
the way by Viola.))

Beastly Val intercepted the griffin. The shock pushed her back
only making her angrier.:" Fine , if it's how we are gonna play
this. Viola, thou hast to stop the guardian whilst I deal with
the witch and protect these innocents." These words sounded
almost unnatural for Beastly bit she knew Val would soon be in
control again. "Those who are wounded stay back, those who can
fight come forth, we have to make it stop. Val raised and waved
her hands and accelerated the fire on the rotting golem. "If we
can't get to her like this ..." she whispered a few magic words
slowly attempting to take control of the weather.

Maria just watch in horrified awe of her handiwork as she
managed to set the tree golem on fire and burn it and Pin alive.
She felt the screams tear at her heart but it was for the better
of the group, for the better of the group... and the future.
She didn't get much time to recover either as Sonic suddenly
went super and came at them, the ground shaking beneath his
feet. At first she just stood there, frozen at the sight. What-
what was that? What happened to him? Maria started to back off
as Sonic started to use the eye lasers, causing the doe to try
and flee only to stumble and fall on her back.
"Wha- what is this?!" she borderline screamed while trying
continue her backpedaling, "what's gone into him? Why is he
golden and why is he shooting laser?!"
She reached for her weapon to make a countermove, something,
anything that could stop him, only to realize she had dropped it
in her attempt to escape.
"What do we do now," she yelled at Sapph, practically demanding
an explanation as she forced herself up and made a dash for
them, "what is he... and how do we stop him?"
Even then something clicked when she caught on to the fact that
it was eye lasers Sonic was using and she quickly reached into
her bag to extract a small canister. Anyone with just a bit of
military knowledge, be it from videogames or otherwise, would be
able to identify it as a flashbang grenade.
"Heads down!" she screamed as she pulled the pin and chucked it
at the golden mobian. Only to see bounce off the ground and down
to Pin and her burning tree where it detonated into a blinding
flash and deafening tone.

Re: [Arc: Middle 2] The Gateway
By: Ashura Date: February 12, 2017, 5:44 am
---------------------------------------------------------
'What is he even-- Is he having a tantrum?!' Ashura's gaze was
locked onto Sonic as said Blue Blur stamped his feet in
defiance, surely not the greatest image to portray himself as
some kind of hot-shot hero like people have been saying so
far... The emerald anomaly would've given it more thought had
his train of thought not been immediately derailed by the
eruption of golden light, the spiking of fur and spines, and the
glare of crimson eyes.
This triggered a memory in Ashura-- though fragmented, was a
memory even still...
[hr]
The world that Ashura perceived had changed. From what he could
tell, he was in a tube full of strange liquid, barely conscious,
barely able to see beyond a meter, but he could hear fairly
clearly from his place in the tube.
First, he heard a robotic voice, one that made him want to puff
out his cheeks and not listen, as much as he knew he should.
"Professor, the Vicious Vandals have increased in number, the
chances of remaining hidden are--"
The robotic voice was interrupted by a male voice, rather
stressed and gruff but Ashura found great comfort in it still.
"-- Now below 34.54%, yes, Hex-Borg I know... But you have far
more grave news than that, do you not?" There was a pause,
before the robotic one spoke once more. "Y-yes, professor, I
do." Another stint of awkward silence. "They... They have all
succumbed to the Golden Curse..."
[hr]
The memory was cut short there, for Ashura was right in Viola's
path towards one of the others, and thankfully knocked aside and
away from Sonic's laser beam eyes. Interestingly enough however,
as soon as Viola hit Ashura, a glow blinked over him, and once
again when he hit the floor, and one final time as he bounced.
The emerald hedgehog groaned as he tried to sit up. This wasn't
a time for lying down!
'Ugh, why do I feel so... Heavy?' With one eye open Ashura
looked around for Sonic's now golden form. '... A curse, huh?
Then how do we break it?'

By: Sapphire Date: February 14, 2017, 5:21 am
---------------------------------------------------------
"[sub]Super...[/sub]" Sapphire muttered as she watched Sonic
erupt into a golden mobian before her and the team, she still
remember what it was like when she turned super. How he had with
no emeralds was beyond her, she almost transfixed on him as he
shimmered that golden glow and used the power that you could
feel flowing through your veins during it.
It took for the ground to start rumbling for her to snap out of
it and come to her senses, she'd begin to run, picking up her
speed and making sure her team mates where not left behind or
within firing range as she went, zig zagging this way and that
to give anyone whom needed it a little boost.
Seeing Maria pull out a flash ang she'd lock her eyes onto it,
she watched her teammate throw it at Sonic, but it bounced away
from him. To make sure it went to use, Sapphire would speed
over, everything else felt just a bit slower then her for the
few moments it took her to reach the grenade, once she had
though she would leap into the air and kick it as hard as she
could towards Pin and her burning monster roots before landing
back down on her feet, she'd stumble and begin to turn but she
wouldn't escape being in range of the flash bang before it went
off thanks to trying to make sure it hit Pin.
Her ears would begin ringing and all she could see was white
light, she'd reach out aimlessly, grabbing at the air, trying to
catch sight of one of her team mates, her colour and vision was
starting to return but everything was spinning and blurry.
The hedgehog would fall, tripping over her own feet and
splattering into the mud on her knees as she closed her eyes
shaking her head and covering her ears with her hands, she
called out for help, but couldn't hear herself over the ringing
in her ears. The hedgehog hated this, she had a team to make
sure was okay and now she couldn't see or hear them, who knew
wha ours happen to them during this time!

By: Caroline Bishop Date: February 14, 2017, 5:33 am
---------------------------------------------------------
"[shadow=Crimson, right]Oh and I'm just dying to meet you too
dear[/shadow]" Came a voice from behind Val. Upon the name
tumbling from Val's mouth just before, the cat herself had
appeared randomly. Leaning against a bit of broken house as she
watched their struggle.
Seeing Sapphire in such a vunrable state though...
The cat would disappear on the spot again and would reappear in
front of the young blue hedgehog, giving her a swift boot to the
stomach, causing Sapphire to keel over, her chin in the mud as
she wrapped her arms around her stomach in pain. She couldn't
attack, if she did, she could potential hurt one of her friends.
Caroline would hold up her hands and a red aura would appear
around Sapphire before she'd use it to send Sapphire skidding
across the ground and into the bricks of the ruins of old
Mobotropolis.
The hedgehog would scream out in pain after being so defenceless
and having her head smashed into something so hard. Yet she
didn't call for help, not wanting her team to also be
endangered, if Caroline was attacking her, at least they where
okay. She knew who was attacking her, she didn't need to see her
to know.
Sapphire would push herself up, her small body trembling with
determination. Only for the red glow to go around one of her
feet, pulling her up, upside down in the air, hitting her head
on the floor in the process. Sapphire would blink and strain her
eyes, desperately trying to see properly again. She'd wave her
hands and point to the fortress, "Go guys! Get to the fortress!
I'll keep her busy! At least while she's after me she won't hurt
you guys, now go! Don't wait for me! The others need you!" She'd
cry out to them.
Would they listen?

For an instant, Val was standing there frozen. She wasn't aware
of her surroundings. But in her mind appeared a large crimson
room with three creatures. A raven standing on a clock like
device with esoteric symbols instead of hours and the bird was
starring at the battle in between a huge feral quandruped wolf
like beast with a fur dark as the night. It's blood colored
saliva was dripping on the crimson carpet. Around of the beast's
neck there was a collar with sharp spikes and a chain holding it
like a leash and at the other end there was Val leaning at the
wall affraid. The beasted lunged at her and aim at Val's throat.
"Please Beastly, listen to me if you don't let me in control we
will both die!" The Beast locked its jaw around her throat but
didn't clenched it. "Thou art holding me prisoner. Thou always
held my chain. I was your prisoner for so long, it is time that
I take control!" The raven still starring at the grim scene with
interest. Who would win this battle. "Now is not the time..."
she begged Beastly to stop and for once she listened.
"You have everything! People who cares, power and the book of
shadows yet you don't even enjoy any of that.! She said
growling at the witch. " Maybe you're right I should be
thankful.." she said still dreading the idea that Beastly could
easily win this time."I swear that I will destroy everything you
have, but now is not the time..." She calmed down and walked
away and layed down on the carpet. The raven knocked on the
clock like device and said "Time's up buttercup!"
The return to the reality was harsh and bite marks appeared on
Val's neck. What could Beastly have done to her? She smelled a
strange presence and she shuddered at the idea that the smell
could be that of HER. One who shalt not be named. She remembered
an echoe in her mind of Sapphire ordering the to leave if they
wanted to live. Though her memory was fuzzy due to Beastly's
activities. "Sapphire I shant leave you here! " She insisted to
save her knowing she stood little chances against and unknown
enemy. On the other hand she had the others to help, protect and
defend if needed. A decision had to be made and Sapphire would
probably leave no choice. "Please be careful.." She waved her
hands and turned the local rain into fog to hide her team fron
the villains." Guardian of the east, Mother to all, element of
life cover our tracks as I command!".
