       [Arc: Middle 2] The Gateway
By: Caroline Bishop Date: February 4, 2017, 10:53 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
White streaks of lightning crackled across the dark skies, large
grey storm clouds plowing through the sky above what once was
Mobotropolis city. The city they once knew, was gone. Only
rubble and broken parts of what could of only have been homes to
mobians of their time remained, scattered about the dead city.
Where the castle of the royals once stood, now stood a large
spiral fortress, which twisted its way up towards the stormy
skies above, vines and roots intwined with the marble, stone and
brick making up the fortress. Pin's addition to the cause after
being revived, and although the fortress shone with light from
within it was still as gloomy and dark as its broken city
       surroundings.
Who knew how many floors the fortress held, fifteen, twenty or
so it looked at least, a fair climb for the team to make for
sure though. For now, it was quiet, no unnatural sounds where
made. Only the sound of the lonely wind blowing by through the
deserted streets of what once was their city and home and the
gentle pitter patter of rain as the clouds above finally decided
       to drop it....
Off to the right in the broken cities streets, not far off a
distance from the fortress, a circular flash of light would set
off, someone else appearing in he area. Someone new.... Where
they friend or foe to the group though? ....
Sapphire hire would skid to a stop, the rain had made the grass
along the way to the city slippery and wet however, and as per
usual, she want in for a safe stop. She would topple over
backwards and go skidding on her butt across the grass, only
stopping when the ground had suddenly changed from green grass
       to dirt.
They had reached the cities outskirts, a perfect ring of a line
went around the city, still there from when the dome was put
       down around it...
Sapphire put a hand against the ground, feeling the small dent
in the ground still left from the dome before pulling her hand
back up and looking at it, clenching her hand into a fist and
glaring at the fortress ahead as she did...
Getting back to her feet she would usher the team forward,
pointing to the fortress in the rain. "We need to get to the top
room, see the one with the brightest light in it? The light in
from the gateway, that's our goal to get to. Our only way of
getting their is from within the fortress, we can't scale it....
I've lost friends who tried that for those who are wondering
why..." She said, looking away for a moment with a pained look
before she clicked her fingers, her outfit had a sudden change.
Her hair went up into a ponytail supported by a light blue ring,
her one piece became consisted of mostly white and light blue
with a bit black, a belt wrapping round her hips, two bands with
blue medical symbols tying round her upper arms as a weird
looking box pack slipped around her shoulders and onto her back,
connected to an odd looking gun with a nozzle, her boots
splashing into a deep black, the rest of her legs between her
boots and the one piece covered by semi-transparent black
       leggings.
Beginning to head towards the fortress she would look back in
her new getup, ushering them again to follow, "I will not be
healing anyone who does anything purposely stupid, like breaking
away from the team, cmon! We've got your futures to save"
Seems the team wasn't alone though as they had a newcomer, an
old enemy, and a hero whom had gone missing earlier to meet up
       with very soon...

After the silver-white hedgehog was done transporting through
the wormhole of space, a feeling he was quite used to by now
and, thus, felt no discomfort over, he peered his gaze over at
the colossal city before him...or more like "city remains" by
now. Silver flew by close, staring blankly with a hint of a
furrowed brow towards the wreckage HER and the others have
unleashed upon the city, shaking his head as he was reminded of
his own home's ruins. "Funny how I hardly ever see this city in
its full-bloom glory..." He half-heartedly tried to joke, his
face telling a different story. Perhaps it was more grim after
all. Either way, he turned towards Sapphire in response to what
she mentioned about scaling the side of the building, nodding.
"I don't suppose it would help much that I flew up there myself
since we'll be separated, right?" He mostly asked out of
curiosity, although he also did want to let her know that his
gift of telekinesis and. therefore, flight, among other things,
were available at their very disposal.

Here they were, Mobotropolis... or what was left of it. It
barely classified for being a shell of it former glory. It was
but a ruined husk, reduced to rumble and all that remained
standing was that tower they had to get to with the rain only
adding to the depressing atmosphere. One could argue that it
made it easier to find their target, but seeing the city she had
lived in all her life in this state... it tore at something
within her. But now was not the time to be hampered, they were
on duty and they had company.
"Understood," she nodded as Sapph finished speaking, "then i
suggest we use the ruins to cover our advance. As for sticking
together... how close are we talking?"

Sapphire bit her tongue for a moment, taking in a few breaths
before she turned around to answer Silver, trying not to let her
mood, his sarcastic tone nor the fact she'd already answered the
question cause her answer to be too snarky "Robin tried to fly
up there once and he is lucky to still be alive and with us
today, flying up there is the same as scaling, you'll achieve
nothing but seperating yourself from the group" She answered, as
kindly as she possibly could, Silver might have all these
powers, but they would be put to the test in this time.
       Everyone's would be.
"You don't have to follow as a team but I will tell you now that
everybody I have known that HAS tried to lone wolf, I have never
heard from again. The choice is yours, there's no room for ego
on this team guys, is that clear? I have bubbles that can send
you home if I need to, or if you want me to"
Sapphire would close her eyes for a moment and listen to Maria,
she tapped a finger against her lips for a moment before
responding. "If we do that, go around in pairs, and never too
far from one another" Her eyes would then dart over who was
there, probably thinking of pairs in her own head.

Silver mutters under his breath something about "no one is nice
anymore" before clearing his throat and replying just as kindly
as she has. Apparently, he keeps getting misunderstood or just
overall get the impression he was not welcome around. If only
Tails were here... "Nevermind then." He knows now that he should
probably not ask or give suggestions. Just follow her lead. It
may be best anyway. Instead, he just keeps quiet and pulls on
his gloves, tightening them and cracking his fingers to prepare
himself both physically and mentally for the upcoming attack.
Whether we was wanted or not, the future needed saving, and that
was more important to him than being "liked" by anyone anyway,
       after all...

Suddenly, out of nowhere a portal ripped open through the very
fabric of space before them. From within thundered the battle
cries of war, slaughter and the clashes of metal against metal
boomed from the other side. The most predominant sound which had
erupted from this portal from an ancient time period was a high
pitched shriek of a falcon, followed by a cry filled with steel
and honor, "Thou shall not escape mine blade, thou lily-liver’d
       ba'stard!"
Immediately afterwards a winged beast of Mobian proportions shot
through the air with twin blades drawn out to her sides and
collided with the nearest member of the group; Ashura. With her
armored boot, the griffin kicked him to the ground and swiftly
raised her swords and slammed them down towards him, calling out
in the process, "Today, I smite thee demon and banish thou to'st
the pits and finally free our-"
However she stopped just as suddenly as she had attacked, the
cold edges of her swords just barely touching the supple skin of
his neck. The armored griffin was breathing heavily, already
worn down a bit from the struggles of the war from her time and
she titled her head slightly with confusing as she stared down
Ashura, "What a strange demon thou is to be." she muttered under
       her breath.
The warrior whirled around, just in time to see the portal which
she had flown through close up behind her, leaving her trapped
in this time for who knows how long. Noticing that the hedgehog
was also surrounded by allies, she jumped off of him, retreating
a few steps with her swords already drawn; ready to fight. A low
growl rivaling a leopard rumbled from beneath her helmet as she
eyed them aggressively, "Yield, demons!" she barked, "For I
shall not fall for such trickery!"

Ashura followed close behind, bringing up the back. He felt 'at
home' swinging through what was left of the trees up until Team
Trouble reached their destination... It didn't look good,
Sapphire's earlier description in the Future Knothole basement
barely came close to the dreary sight that Ashura's gaze fell
on. "O-oh my.." The emerald hedgehog sputtered, having finally
landed near the group. Ashura looked to Sapphire with a quirked
eyebrow. "D'you think I should try and uh... Recreate that
vision zoom in from earlier?" he asked while making a binoculars
gesture. "I-I mean it couldn't hurt ri-"
The roaring chaos of war and battle suddenly echoed through a
sudden gash in the air; someone had rushed through the rift and
booted Ashura into the dirt! His body made a comical squeaky toy
noise when the newcomer's boot held him down, he flailed
slightly, his limbs wiggling around like hastily animated pasta
noodles. "Woah hey wowowowowowowOAH THERE. NO WITH THE STABBING,
PLS." Ashura reflexively shielded his face with his arms in an X
formation, the strange wrapping material on his arms whipped
into action, constricting the swords, but also unfortunately
locking him to the stranger's movement, for as soon as she moved
backwards, Ashura was unceremoniously yanked along with them,
promptly face-planting in the dirt. "... Liddl help? wbld be
       preciat'd."

looked over the group trying to deduct who would fit together,
"we'll see how the situation de-"
Her train of thought was derailed by a portal opening with a
battle raging on the other side... and one combatant that really
riled up. Then a creature suddenly shot out of the portal and
smashed into Ashura, calling him to be a deamon and preparing to
kill him only to realize that she is somewhere else.
"Freeze, stop, don't move, it doesn't have to come violence.
We're not demons!" she exclaimed to try and calm the griffon,
but the shock had made her take aim at the newcomer as a reflex
which might send a conflicting message, "please, just- just put
your weapon down. We can work this out."

The combination of being hyped up from the addrenaline of war
from her time, the strange and extremely alien reaction of
Ashura's body and voice and having a weapon pointed at the
warrior weren't exactly helpful in calming her down right now.
Feeling both confused by absolutely everything and the yearn to
follow her Code, the knight hardened her stance.
She looked quizzically through the slits of her helmet at the
hedgehog whom was still attached to her blade. At first she
tried to shake him off, but thought better of it. The knight
managed to pull one of her two blades out from his
       noodle-X-gripping-arms and swung it in an arc-like motion;
stopping just in front of his jugular, "Yield, demon!" she
barked again at Maria, "For Valoians do not falter in the face
of battle and trickery! I praythee, release me from thine
witchcraft-hold so we may honorably end this war. 'Less thine
ally wishes to bless the ground with pools of red riches."
((A/N: Please note that Viola will calm down and even help team
trouble quite quickly if the right posts are made. She did just
get ripped from her time after all. XD Please note that I don't
intend to derail the arc at all in my future posts~))

Val felt a rush of emotions flooding her mind and her whole
feral body trembled. She had to contain herself and remain
composed. Though her primordial side was getting stronger. But
then she remembered Veira telking her to remain in control. She
could still hear her voice in her mind. It had a soothing effect
on her. At least long enough to think before talking. " Thou art
lost in a time in which you do not belong, should you help us in
our dangerous task to save a world in a dire situation. You
would be granted a way back to your home." Val said on a very
calm tone despite the beast clawing it's way out inside of her
then took a vial in her bag she quickly uncapped and drank as
quickly as possible to numb the beast inside. " And what sorcery
brought you to this time?" She inquire the fantastic beast on
       her most diplomatic tone.
