Shattered Mind

It had been mere days since everything had come crashing down on
her and even now, realizing and reflecting upon it still felt
like she was being hitting by a freight train. That's thing
about freight trains, they move fast, carry heavy cargo, they
hit hard and just keep on going... and going... and going... and
going... and going... and going; as far as the eye could see. In
the middle of a secluded part of a forest, Karahl sat on her
knees on the grass with her eyes closed in front of a small
pond. She was breathing deeply, meditating - or at least trying
to.
Her eye twitched.
'Peace. Tranquil. Still.' she silently reminded herself.
Her hands balled up into tight fists; cracking knuckles
simultaneously.
'Peace! Tranquil! Still!'
A scowl.
'P e a c e! T r a n q u i l! S t i l l!'
Soon, despite her efforts, past events regarding Eggman's take
over and her mind being brainwashed flooded her mind. The tiger
gasped, grinding her teeth together and a low growl struggled to
escape her maw as she tried so desperately to clear her mind.
'Peace. Tranq-'
All of a sudden Karahl's eyes shot open and the ninja ripped off
her mask just as her canine teeth along the top and bottom jaw
extended and shot out to their saber-like nature; as well as the
second row of nail-like teeth that lined her inner jawline. She
glared wildly at her reflection, truly seeing herself for what
she is, what she had been gradually concealing away since she
had been having an on-again-off-again relationship with Sonic.
A cannibal. A monster. A murderer.
The tiger bellowed out a mighty roar, one that could be heard by
vast distances. A roar of anger. A roar of confusion. A roar of
desperation. A roar of agony. Karahl, who prided herself in
showing discipline, control and professionalism, for the very
first time cast all of that aside. The tiger was still breathing
heavily but the longer she stared at her reflection, the more
vile her expression grew. She raised a clawed fist and punched
her relflection; sending water flying everywhere, then punched
it again with the other fist and repeated the process
continuously until it devolved into a wild frenzy of
unpredictable swipes, gashes and punches. Water and mud flew in
all directions; even splattering herself and leaving her fur and
uniform a mangled mess.
She had her mind stolen from her. She got it back, but was it
truly hers?

Footsteps are getting louder and louder with each step until
they come to a suddent stop. Making no more noice he stood
behind her, about two-three feet to be percise. Why was he there
in a timely fashion is uncertain, Karahl's unexpected display
of vulnerablility amping up his curiosity was probably the
source behind this. Ty could have spoken a word but he didnt.
These two formed a bond to the point that he didnt need to say
anything.
Instead he stood there stoic as usual, an array of questions and
concern can clearly be seen within his eyes, its difficult hard
to tell whether or not he was even curious but only people like
Karahl, Sapphire and Blaze can truly know what is he thinking.

During her rampage Karahl hadn't noticed Ty, another thing that
was out of the norm. Karahl wasn't one to be snuck up on. After
some minutes that had passed, Karahl's fury and desperation had
died down; just enough for her to stop attacking her reflection
in the water and noticed Ty looking over her shoulder from
behind when the ripples weren't so violent.
"Ty!" Karahl gasped, whirling around, wide-eyed with surprise.
Though in doing so she tripped over her own feet and stumbled
backwards and fell into the shallow pond in a clumsy mess. Her
body was shaking and on top of what she was feeling earlier she
felt humiliated and anxious for being seen like this. Scared,
even.
Soon after she got back to her feet, stood tall and with her
hands behind her back; though they were still quivering.
"T-Ty, g-good to see you. Again." she followed up with the usual
greeting; acting as though she never had an episode, nor
standing in a muddy muddle, nor with her sabers extended; nor
being covered head-to-toe with dirt and mud. It probably, would
have been a convincing facade if it weren't for those things...
but even without, even she couldn't fool a close friend.

"You look like a mess.." he was also blunt while at the same
time hypocritical, guy walks around with injures everyday and he
has the nerve to tell her that. He glanced at her figure from
head to toe, its clear to him she wasnt the invinicible warrior
he had always depicted her, it was impossible to achieve
perfection even for someone like her. looking at her like this
is devastating..depressing even. To think this fairy tail like
imagination of her was nothing more an illusion.
He appraoched her calmy and place a gloved appendage on her
cheek with gentle care. "Are you eating okay? whats the
matter?"interesting his voice lost its powerful amd commanding
tone, it was instead replaced by a soft, almost whispering voice
of concern and kindness, which is only something reserved for
Sapphire.

"Yes I a-" she began before letting out a heavy sight and wiped
the mud from her face, "No. No I am not." she confessed, turning
away.
There was a pregnant pause before she continued, "...I have not
been okay since Eggman took over. My mind - what is the mind? Is
it what we truly are? If it is then why do we not feel the same
once we got it back? My mind is the one thing I value the most
about myself. Disciplined, sharp and in control. Without that I
just run purely on instinct, driven by an insatiable hunger and
losing control." She whirled around and extended her claws over
his face in a predatory fashion for emphasis. She then retracted
them and sighed again, "I've never lost control before. That is,
until Eggman..."
"Ty, I still cannot fathom that Eggman had managed to -" she
shuddered. "-brain wash me. Into doing his bidding. I wasn't
myself. I tricked you. I graduated you so that you would feel
more compelled to be loyal to me and also doing Eggman's
bidding. We collected the Emeralds and simply handed them
over... from there you know the rest."
Karahl hugged herself as she stared at her reflection again,
"Not to say I wasn't going to graduate you, but rather the
timing was going to be later this year instead. I wanted to
graduate you after a final test, not to be a lackey..."
She had to look away, "But worst of all, were the things I did.
I was completely aware of what I was doing - just as Blaze was -
but I couldn't regain control of it. I witnessed and acted on
manipulation, deception, murdering and devouring Mobians
again... and I enjoyed it. I hadn't felt more alive since before
joining the Freedom Fighters. I felt more comfortable, in my
element doing all of that, who I really am at my core... but the
thought of doing that for Eggman makes me feel sick to my
stomach."
The tiger then pulled out the golden badge given to Freedom
Fighters, staring at her own reflection again on it's surface,
"I do not think I can still be considered a Freedom Fighter
after the stunt I just pulled. I can't ruin that reputation for
everyone else. I'm going to have to leave."

The truth...the revelations....everything, thier so called bond,
her wanting to graduate him to become one of the the feircest
ninja assassins in the world, was all the handy work of Eggman.
He didnt know how to respond, obviously there was anger,
confusion and sadness but....his emotions where having a hard
time to process which one to in this brain, let alone make him
openingly express that feeling.
All there was to openly express was a state of shock, however
her honestly and pitiful nature helped retracted back to his
stoic face and strangely enough into a smile once she spilled
the beans to him. He approached her, placed a hand on her
shoulder and tenderly spun her around to take a good look at her
face. His smile appears to be warm and fuzzy.
"Karahl..I just wanna say thank you, youve took a twenty three
year old me and Blaze under your wing when we had nowhere to go,
you showed us nothing but kindness and treated me and him like
we were one of your own, and you finally opened up and be honest
with me, for that I'm forever in your debt and want to return
the favor..I love you.."
He cupped her face once again, his lips deeply pressed against
her's unlike the last time where it was a random surpise kiss it
was an act of geniune love, if Karahl was honest with him then
so could he and letting her know how he felt about her.
[sub]A sharp knee to her gut and a surprise kick an attempt to
knock her down, revealing that kiss was just a ruse, his eyes
glared and his posture formed into a battle stance. "In order to
properly repay my debt to you "partner" is to beat you back to
normal, I wont let Eggman get ahold of you or anyone else ever
again!" he stated sharply. Two tears rolled down his cheek. If
he rescused Blaze from mind control then he could do the same
for Karahl.[/sub]

Sonic had only just arrived on the scene witnessing a betrayal
between two people he trusted above all else. Out of sheer anger
he crushed the power ring within his grasp causing it to shatter
into a storm of golden glitter. The golden shards crunched in
Sonic's hand as he tightened the grip of his fist. At this point
he was beyond words and reason, only boundless rage remained.
Sonic gritted his teeth as he ground his sneakers into the
ground as his blood boiled. The scene unfolding before his eyes
created a stormed of negative emotions swirling inside of him.
Jealousy, hatred, anger and even envy. That last one was a new
emotion to the blue awakening something deep inside of him. His
body trembled as his entire being started to shake. Slowly
static energy started to surge around Sonic. Little by little
the lightning grew greater as it started to turn from blue to a
glorious gold. A wild vortex of lightning surged as thunder
rumbled causing the ground to shake. Sonic's body started
building up so much energy he started to release a primal roar.
His blue eyes would flicker a blood red as his quills started to
dance between gold and blue. Falling to his fists the hedgehog
focused on his hatred and how those he trusted used and betrayed
him.
"I trusted you....." Was all be muttered before returning to the
roar. Finally Sonic stood his body emitting a massive blast of
energy that leveled nearby trees. The trunks of the trees
splintered into hundreds of pieces as the hero's image vanished
in a swirling vortex of golden energy. Finally with a solid
stomp the storm vanished finally revealing what all that power
had been building to. Before them stood a golden hedgehog with
his spines standing on end as his red eyes fixed onto Ty with a
deadly glare. Sonic had tapped into the the chaos energy that
lay dormant within him after exposure to the seven chaos
emeralds. He spoke as if two voices had melded into one creating
a powerful reverb effect with each sound uttered. .

"I swore to myself I'd never do this again but this is worth
unleashing my WRATH!"[/font][/glow]
Sonic opened his palm as a small golden orb collected itself
into a solid sphere. He hurled the tiny orb as it rapidly
erupted into a tidal wave of pure chaos energy intending on
washing Ty away along with it.

Fur stood on end as Karahl tensed up when Ty kissed her. She
froze on the spot like a statue, mostly due to her expecting any
other reaction but that one. Her eyes widened while her student
kissed her, not moving a muscle.
Then it was broken off with a knee to the gut, knocking the wind
out of her. Karahl stumbled backwards for a moment before
recognising a much more familiar stance from Ty. A challenge.
The tiger then laughed briefly, "You exploited an opportunity to
strike with a sneak attack. I couldn't be more proud." was all
she could say at this point; still trying to figure out how to
resoond to earlier.
But she didnt get to, not when another unexpected guest arrived.
'Oh no.'
Karahl could feel the power radiating from the hedgehog, not
from the blast which leveled trees around them, but the chaos
energy that was flowing from him. She could feel her knees
weaken, pain showered over her body like a bed of needles
pressing against her. She looked up, watching the chaos orb
approach them - considering that she was still standing near Ty.
The ckoser the blast got to her, the more pain she felt.
"Sonic!" Karahl yelled out, "Think about what you're doing!
You're going to kill someone! Don't allow yourself to become
what I am. You're a hero Sonic, not a monster."
In the face of danger, Karahl started to feel morw and more like
herself again. Adrenaline pumping but she held her ground and
didn't budge; despite knowing all too well what chaos energy
could do to her.

His stance was solid and firm, karahl's laughter and compliment
only proved his theory that anything she says to him could be
taken with a grain of salt. "Forgive me Karahl but this is the
only way, until I know for sure Eggman's control over you is
gone, I won't be taking any chances," he was preparing to attack
her again until a voice and an energy wave gunning for him,
threatening to vaporize both him and his target, there was no
time to move he quickly shoved Karahl out if the way and took
the blast head on. Ty is laying on the ground dazed and horribly
injured. "Th-that is gonna hurt.." muttured.

Super Sonic lowered his hand with smoke trailing from the tips
of his fingers. As the wave of energy dissipated he walked over
cracking his knuckles before rolling his shoulder
joint.[glow=red,2,300] "Oh I'm not going to kill anybody. I'm
just going to hurt him a lot."[/glow] He said as he picked Ty up
the the collar of his shirt. He looked into the wolf's eyes
while shaking his head.[glow=red,2,300] "After all we've been
through, after everything I've done for you. We've been through
hell together all the countless battles we've lived through.
This is how you treat a bother in arms? I can't count how many
times I've saved your sorry tail."[/glow] Sonic looked to Karahl
tightening his grip on Ty's shirt. [glow=red,2,300]"You.....I
never thought I'd see you act this weak. I knew you know nothing
about honor but I at least always believe you'd have some sense
of respect for the guy who pulled you out of the afterlife.
Looks like I was wrong."[/glow] Sonic's eyes started to glow a
much brighter red as he glared towards Ty. [glow=red,2,300]"You
and I, we're going for a ride!"[/glow] He said before taking off
in a golden streak. Mountains,lakes and vast fields all passed
in mere nanoseconds. A black trail scorched itself into the
earth across the entire planet marking the path Super Sonic
burned through it. The faster he ran he deeper the burn marks
became. The golden hedgehog circled the planet several times a
second quickly releasing Ty. As the wolf flew into space Super
Sonic kept making laps of Mobius. When he had built up enough
speed he blasted out of the planets atmosphere meeting Ty just
before he got to the moon. Sonic's sneaker connected with Ty's
face as he delivered a devastating kick sending him hurtling
back to Mobius. As Ty tumbled through the atmosphere Sonic flew
before him. Returning to the spot Karahl was sitting Sonic
caught Ty's face in his palm just before he made impact. Sonic
had stopped the wolf from making critical impact and exploding
all over the forest floor [glow=red,2,300]"I could have let you
hit the ground and die."[/glow] He said gently tossing him
aside. [glow=red,2,300]"You're both off the team. No the Freedom
Fighters are disbanding. I'm going back to being a solo gig.
Other people just slow me down anyway."[/glow] Sonic said as his
fur faded from gold turning blue once again.
