A Protector's Shadow

Zooming back to the lake of rings, He carefully placed Mallow
down gently on the soft cushions of grass, crunching footsteps
approached the body of mystical water, a reflection of the ebony
figure revealed a stoic yet calm warrior examining the bottom
for a sign of some sort.
Whatever he sign was it was surely hard to miss, that glowing
light of hope and success took the form of a golden ring rising
up from the clear liquid. He grabbed the ring and hastily placed
the ring in Mallow's open palm, watching power being absorbed
all of his body, there wasn't a guarantee he will wake up, it
was a 50/50 chance it could happen, but all he could do was wait
and hope for the best.

As the ring was absorbed by the albino mobian's body, the rabbit
stirred as his injuries and bruises faded. His chest rose as a
deep breath was taken in then let out. White eyelids fluttered
open and the faded blue eyes of Mallow slowly looked around in a
daze, taking in the forest scenery, before landing on the black
and red hedgehog.
"Master? " His voice was slightly hoarse from screaming his head
off during his little 'free falling' experience. He sat up
quickly and instantly regretted it as a dizzy spell rocked his
head in discomfort. His body may have been healed, but the rest
of him was trying to catch up. "Ohh... that was a mistake. What
happened? The stadium- Robotnik! He's back! Someone was in that
robot! They are in danger! I have to-" Mallow tried to get up
but swayed and the world threatened to rock him back on his ass.

"Save your strength.." he cuts him off sensing a state of panic.
He uses a tone of reassurance to calm him down.
"We will save that woman shortly once your body adjust to the
energy" he stared out into the vast open space folding his arms.

Mallow faltered and let gravity pull him back to the ground. He
rubbed his eyes and waited for the dizzy spell to pass. 'So it
had been a woman. Chaos, I hope she's okay. I hope we aren't too
late.' He shuddered to think what Eggman could possibly be doing
to her. Mallow took a deep breath as his body became less
disoriented and more aware as he made to stand again.
"Alright, I'm okay. What's the plan, Master? What did I miss
while I was... out?" He asked, his intuition felt that something
had happened, other than Robotnik returning.

Shadow continued to stare off into the distance arms folded, he
knew exactly what went down, he was just contemplating on
whether or not he should tell him about the revelation and how
he was involved prior to this whole mess. "Nothing.."he lied,
he decided it was best for Mallow to not get himself mixed up in
his dilemma.
"The doctor got the better of us that's all there is to it, the
plan is to retrieve the girl and put a stop to Robotnik once and
for all"he said.

Mallow nodded slowly, his intuition blared in the back of his
mind, but the rabbit chose to believe his teacher and friend.
Getting to his feet, he slowly dusted himself off. "Indeed, now
that we have two doctors to worry about, this won't be easy." He
clenched his hands into fists. "If it's alright by you, master.
I would like to continue our training. I barely had any time to
perfect the Chaos Spear before that base mission."

"Very well, lets check on your progress" he spun his head and
body 180 degrees to face his student eager to further develop
his abilities.
"Perform a Chaos Spear just like we practiced, I want to make
sure its refined" he folded his arms to watch the demonstration.

On command, the rabbit focused on the energy constantly churning
inside his body. His eyes sought a target of a decent sized
boulder aways from them and he swung his arm out, flinging a
well-crafted arrow of light at the object. The rock in
connecting to the disharmonic energy did its opposite in its
very essence and shattered, no longer a firm foundation for
anything. Mallow straightened, then turned to Shadow, awaiting
criticism and guidance.

"Hmph, perfect"he gave him a smile of approval. Its not everyday
someone could get the hang of his abilities, perhaps Mallow has
a hidden potential deep within himself. He will have to keep an
eye on him more often to bear witness other talents he could
surprise him with.
"Your growing faster than I anticipated, its time I teach you
how to deal with multiple targets using the Chaos Spear, follow
me" his shoes tread upon the soft grass up until the dark
hedgehog blended within the trees, whether he took off running
or kept walking at at slower pace is uncertain, point is Shadow
is going to take him to another location to show him a new
trick.

Mallow beamed at the praise, his entire countenance radiated
happiness as he hopped alongside Shadow. The rabbit was very
excited to learn something new with this ability, his mind had
already begun to formulate ideas of how he was going to
incorporate the Chaos Spear in his fighting motions, and perhaps
into his dance choreography, but that would be another time.
Right now, he had to focus on getting stronger, faster, better.
He couldn't let another slip up like what happened at the
stadium happen again. He would not let it happen again.
