       The Challenge. (One-off)

       It was time. FINALLY TIME! After months of work and countless
       failures it was time.  Eggman smiled to himself, stroking his
       moustach as he paced about his lab, circling the table that
       housed the project he had been working on for so long.
       "Its ready. Finally. I've certainly outdone myself this time.
       Even with my genius I hardly thought it possible and yet here I
       am, having done it!" He cackled to himself before shaking his
       head. "I truly am a master of my craft."
       The doctor moved to a console, quickly tapping a few buttons on
       the keyboard before flipping a switch.  There was a humming and
       a sudden surge of power as the thing on the table began to
       shutter and shake before the humming grew quiet.  Hyper Metal
       Sonic sat up slowly and looked about, its eyes looking about
       slowly, taking in its surroundings.  It would move off the
       table.
       "I am running at peak efficiency. All power levels are stable."
       Spoke Hyper Metal.
       Eggman smiled wide. "Excellent. Then its time to issue a
       challenge."
       A few hours would pass before every electronic device on earth
       would be hacked. Eggman's logo appeared over the screens before
       Eggman's voice spoke out.  "Greetings Mobius! It is I, Doctor
       Eggman!" he spoke. "I am broadcasting on all frequencies to
       issue a challenge to Sonic the Hedgehog. My newest robot, Hyper
       Metal Sonic, will beat you.  He has all of your abilities and
       More. So I propose a race! A race on the only track that can
       withstand your true speed. Stardust Speedway. There will be a
       blue warp ring waiting for you in Mobotropolis. Should you
       accept the challenge, just jump into it.... If you don't accept
       the challenge... well."
       Eggman began to cackle before calming himself. "I will detonate
       what is left of Robotnik's Nuclear arsenal and send Mobius into
       a nuclear winter.  You have three days. Eggman out."
       The transmission ended there and a large blue warp ring would
       appear in the middle of Mobotropolis.  To guard it from others
       two Metal Sonics were sent down to defend it.
