Sonic's body stopped burning with Blaze's help he let out a sigh
of relief. However he looked at his hands realizing most of his
fur was burnt off and his skin was scorched. The gentle breeze
felt like daggers against Sonic's exposed muscle. He caught a
look at this reflection in a shallow pool of chemicals he was a
horrid mess anybody would mistake him for the walking dead. He
barely had any skin left and was mostly bone and muscle. He bent
over placing his forehead against the ground. He tried to keep
the pain at bay but it was far too great. Sonic's image started
to flicker as he started to vibrate his body at a high
frequency. Terrifying screams of pain could be heard as the once
blue hedgehog started the process of rapidly healing his body by
speeding up it's functions and reforming his atomic make up.
After some time had passes Sonic's skin and fur had grown back
in full as if he'd never been burned. He took a moment to pat
down his arms as the sensation of feeling had returned to him.
Sonic stood with a deadly glare upon his face. This enemy's
cruelty could not be understated. Sonic was almost killed thus
he felt it time to do some living.
He blasted off down the street and rushed past The Flame Empress
zipping around her. The blue hero turned around ceasing his
rapid movement nodding with an approving smile. His grin
couldn't be bigger as he egged her on. "Look it's Smokey The
Babe and she's my biggest fan." He said snickering. Should the
royal conquerer look down she would notice she was wearing a
T-shirt with Sonic's face upon it. The blue hero decided to
start an ego trip after the suffering she had put him through.
He stuck his fingers in his mouth calling out to the cat with
inappropriate yet hilarious whistle used to ogle attractive
women. "Here Kitty Kitty!" He said smug smile as he beckoned her
as if she were a common house cat.

Once they had reached the city Blaze had left to attend to take
care of something. Without knowing what it was Maria had just
started heading back home to the barracks, trying to ignore the
polluted air. That seemed to get a lot easier when a massive
fireball erupted further inside the city. Suicidal as it may be
she had started making her way towards the origin point of the
fire and as the heat became unbearable she saw the three
combatants.
Two of them she recognized, only one of them wasn't known to
her, but she seemed to be the aggressor. She wanted to do
something, but she had nothing with her right now, no weapons,
armor or equipment. She didn't have her communication equipment
either, so she was completely on her own. She had to improvise.
The city was still in ruins to an extent so she might be able to
salvage something to create a weapon, with that in mind she ran
for a construction site, she needed a pole, a sharp piece of
metal and, most importantly, duct tape. This sadly meant that
she had to cross the current battlefield and while she probably
could do it without too much problems, it was never with out
risk.

Despite the sudden and non consented wardrobe change Blaze was
grinning like mad. There was something thrilling about this
hedgehog. Something unnatural and exciting, and something she
wanted to perserve. While the wanna be Pyromancer brought on
some frustration with his slippery movements the hedgehog seemed
to have a rather unique healing factor on top of everything. He
was truly an adversary worthy of her ire. So seeing as there was
an opening Blaze would teleport away, using the force of her
explosion to hopefully push the 'other' Blaze back before she
reappeared high above on one of the building tops. She let out a
wicked grin before holding her emerald up high, it's green light
glinting briefly before sparks of red electricity
"I must admit: Needlemouse, Embers, you two truly are
entertaining foes." She purred, her tail flicking back and forth
as she glared down at them. "Even with all my speed I couldn't
match up to your feats Mr.Needlemouse, and Embers I've never
faced such a resilient foe. This battleground, however, is far
too restricting for my liking. So I'm going to leave for now."
The empress held up her fingers, a spark of scarlet electricity
ominously arced around them. "I've set up detonation points all
throughout your city. While in normal circumstances they'd be
relatively harmless from being stretched so thin: with this
chemical smog the devastation will be far worse." Her eyes
narrowed to feral slits as she desperately fought back the
rained down unto the streets creating a series of glowing red
dots scattered throughout the city. She cackled, holding her
fingers out in a snapping motion before calling out to the two
'heroes.'urge to ignite the chaos and devastation.
"...You're far too entertaining to kill off right away though,
so I'd rather not turn you and your pitiful city into ash. If
you dare follow me or try to stop me though I will not think
twice. The choice is yours."
In one fell swoop she took Mobotropolis by the throat. The
Hellfire Goddess had made her final stand for this skirmish. Was
risking the lives of the innocent worth pursuing her? Or would
the heroes have to fight another day?

Blaze still stood at the empresses's mercy as he watched Sonic
heal himself with his speed healing. No doubt that took a lot
out of him. Before turning his attention to the hellfire
goddess, he noticed she was gone in a flash blasting him into
the wall again. Man was that move irrating. Shaking off the
harsh push, he looked to the nearby rooftop in which the cat
perched herself as she stated her final move.
Blaze froze in his tracks as he saw the small sparks appear.
This cat was serious about leveling this place. In theory he
could stop her attack...or at least reduce the blast somehow. He
looked at Sonic and pondered a bit. Would he be willing to let
this one go? Even if he is the fastest putting people in danger
of this magnitude....the whole city would be gone like that.
" Damn...if only i still had my emerald....tch...Sonic i say we
hold off on attacking her. The city was just starting to rebuild
and i don't want another slaughter on my hands....just this once
let's let her go and think of a better plan for later. Besides
the others needs us sounds like something is up." Blaze
suggested to the blue blur hoping he will be reasonable and not
try something he'll regret later.
"Besides...i think i just found me a new rival..." he grinned up
at the cat with a smirk of his own.

Watching another villain use hostages as a deterrent disgusted
him. He gnashed his teeth as he reluctantly had to agree with
Blaze. Sonic was finding it hard to stand as it was after the
extended healing session. Sonic closed his eyes collecting his
thoughts he couldn't put the people of Mobotropolis in danger,
he was sworn to protect them and would uphold that oath.
Seething with anger underneath he played it kool and careless on
the surface. He gave shrug holding out his hands. "You're
leaving? But we were just getting to the good part. Well run if
you want to but I guess you're more coward than cat. Go on head
home with your tail between your legs. Come on Blaze we should
regroup with the others and let em know whats going down. Way I
see it we've got her running scared between my skill and your
fire she's just a kitten."

Okay, so she had a metal pole and some duct tape, but she still
didn't have a weapon tip for her weapon. In an act of
desperation she grabbed a screwdriver and taped it on the top of
the pole.
However, by the the time she was ready and started to make her
way back, the fighting had come to an end. Something she was
only too happy about as she felt that she was able to breath
again, although the amount of smoke in the area made it a
troublesome action.
"So... you send her packing?" she asked the two heroes while
approaching them, spear still in hand, "nice job."

Blaze wore a blank face as he listened to Sonic for a minute as
he talked trashed to the empress. Somehow he figured he would
try and get the last word. He gave a sigh of relief as he at
least agreed to not going after her. That's when Maria showed up
with a makeshift spear of some sort. Blaze tilted his head at
the weapon before nodding to her question.
" More or less although she left us with no real choice but
that's beside the point. We're needed at the docks. Seems Ty has
some meeting of sorts. Hopefully Veira comes along....she still
has the other emerald after all..." Blaze said the last bit to
himself as he pondered where she could be at this moment.
Without much else to do, he headed for the docks. " Maria you
coming along? Sounds like anybody is allowed to come given your
team helped us out before. I'm sure your tammates might turn up
as well." he added as he looked at her.

Maria looked up at the cat then back at the two before nodding.
"I... okay, i might as well, yeah," she said in small bursts,
"they'll probably be... i hope so." She didn't say anymore, she
just followed the hedgewolf.
