Entering the Tiger's Den

By the time Sonic had arrived at the village, everything was in
shambles.Huts were destroyed, deep claw marks were embedded into
some door frames that remained in tact, some dried blood
scattered about the place and signs of empty bullet shells
littered everywhere and scraps of torn of metal were half buried
into the dirt. Aside from the muffled sounds of gasping that had
echoed from inside a dilapidated hut; not a single sound nor
soul could be seen.

Sonic arrived at the scene skidding to a stop. He knelt down
picking up one of he discarded shells raising an eyebrow.
"Shotgun shells? Whoever was shooting at Karahl really had it in
for her. Never fired one of those things but I've seen what they
do to trees from dodging enough of them. He walked around the
area aimlessly until he heard the sound coming from the hut. He
the only thing clear to Sonic was there were signs of a struggle
he was sure it'd take more than this to kill the toughest tiger
he'd ever met. He kicked opened the door excited expecting to
find his woman. "BABY SONIC'S HERE!" He exclaimed excited
looking around.

Light had poured into the hut from behind the hedgehog and the
gasping temporarily ceased as a slender, shadowed figure dragged
itself away in a rush to retreat into the shadows.The tiger's
mask was torn off, her uniform ripped and burnt in numerous
places. Her hands and mouth were drenched in dry, crackling
blood and a bandage that was wrapped aroun her waist had her own
blood soaken through on the side. Her eyes were wide and fangs
were fully extended, "S-Sonic!" she croaked before raising a
hand, "S-stay back!"
She looked like that she had lost an unhealthy amount of weight
since he had last seen her.

Sonic seemed oddly calm for the sorry state he'd witnessed
Karahl in. "Karahl! I've been looking all over for you. You
never call and you never write but I still have a soft spot for
you." He dismissed her statement holding open his arms as if he
wanted a hug. "Oh come'ere bring it in. It's been ages." His
smile faded upon seeing the bandage around her waist. He dropped
the flirty and fun approach and became concerned. "Kara You've
been shot! Wait here! I'll go..." Sonic zipped off and returned
with an abundance of medical supplies. Needles and fresh
bandages were falling out of his arms as he rushed towards her.
"You look like hell just let me." He said as he rifled though
the box alarmed trying to find what he needed. Eventually the
paramedic Stella would notice her storage locker had been raided
so the point it was empty. Finding a roll of bandages and a
syringe filled with pain killers he attempted to give her an
injection. "Hold still I'll have ya patched up in no time."

"S-Sonic don't-" Karahl protested again, her nose flared as
Sonic drew closer; catching his scent immediately. That
tantalizing oh so familiar scent of not only hedgehog, but also
burnt sneakers - not even the strong smell of chillidogs had put
her off as most cooked meat did. A soft, murmured, hungry growl
rattled through her throat before finally gave up and allowed
for him to tend to her wounds.
"Make it quick." she insisted before reaching for a chunk of
broken timber and bit into it until it snapped like a twig. Many
would have assumed for it to be a reaction to the pain, but
really, she was struggling to not go for a bite.
As soon as he was done Karahl immediately back away, just barely
able to make that jump to a higher level on a support beam
above.
"Thanks for that but you really need to stay back Sonic." she
quickly pleaded as saliva had started to drip from the sides of
her maw, "There has been a reason why I haven't tried to contact
you... I don't know what the hell happened exactly but
something happened shortly after I returned to the now...
destroyed city. It's a bit of a blur but when I woke up I had a
insatiable hunger... but everything I tried to eat tasted like
dirt and I could not keep it down. Eventually I ended up here,
still looking for answers and food of course but... still
nothing..."
Karahl stopped talking, her eyes dilated and her long saber
teeth gnashed together as she took on a different tone, "You
best to leave Sonic. It's been days..."

Sonic looked up only to have saliva drip down onto his eyes.
Giving a disgusted expression he blurted out his tongue while
cringing. "Charming..." He said brushing her liquid off his face
before shaking his head. Seeing that look in her eyes Sonic
shook his head. "Please you couldn't eat me. You love me. You're
so crazy for me you wouldn't even eat me if I was the last man
left on earth. It's not like you could even if you wanted to.
Besides is that a challenge I detect on your breath? Perhaps you
misunderstood you're coming home with me weather you like it or
not. We'll sort out whats wrong with you back at base. Come on
quit being a drama queen. Or you gunna make me come get you like
a cat stuck in a tree." He stated wagging his finger at his
feline companion.

"Back at base?" Karahl echoed, looking off to the side to think
for a moment before looking back up at him.
"I-I don't think that's a good idea. Sonic, just look at this
place. Sure I was attacked, but what do you think happened to
these Mobians? I can certainly assure you that I couldn't simply
just... let them leave. Whatever has happened to me, has been
the reason why I can no longer trust myself around others.
They're just so... tempting." she explained, though didn't quite
respond to what he had first said to her but something inside of
her snapped.
Her pupils turned into thin slits as she rose back to her feet
as if she were uninjured; towering over the hedgehog as she
licked her saber fangs enticingly.
"Ask not the cat how the tiger roars." she began, her voice
returning to it's almost-respectfully cold tone; the kind of
which she spoke to strangers. Her voice felt distant, like icey
daggers to compliment her piercing, predatory eyes, "Well Sonic,
I propose a wager. If you can successfully defeat me in combat,
you may take me home - on the condition that you are able to
restrain me effectively so as I am unable to bring harm to our
allies. Should you fail-"
Suddenly without warning, Karahl kicked up dirt into the
hedgehog's eyes before she decided to finish her sentence. She
then followed through by lunging at him, claws extended; going
straight for his throat.

Sonic rubbed his eyes trying to get the dirt out of them. He
stumbled backwards as her strike tore across his torso in place
of his neck. He finally cleared his vision looking down to the
large gash across his chest. "First OW! Second are you trying to
make me look like Scourge." He said pointing towards the
identical scar he now had across his chest. Seeming more annoyed
than he was hurt his eye twitched. "I don't care you killed
these people. You're as evil as they come but I look past that
because I care about you. But if you wanna rumble I got some
time to kill. After all a little fight now and them makes life a
little more interesting don't ya think?" He said sliding under
her feet only to be gone from Karahl's sight. He was sitting
perched upon her tail as he couldn't find a chance to attack.
Seeming nonchalant he smiled with that smug grin he always wore.
"Baby why we always arguing like this?" He said laying back on
her tail as if it were a hammock. "You know me I'm a lover not a
fighter."
(Round 2 Attacks cancel each other out)

"Time to kill? What a poor choice of words." the tiger hissed
before letting out a roar as she reached into her weapons pouch
and threw a series of kunai at Sonic.

Sonic stood before the flying blade snatching it from the air.
He swiftly flicked the farming implement between his fingers
before tossing it over his shoulder. "Always so serious and
literal. Listen kitten don't get the wrong idea. I'm here for a
little fun." Sonic zipped behind Karahl pulling the back of her
shirt along with the strap of her bra. He attempted to snap the
clip to let her bust fly free.
