And They Say Children Shouldn't Play With Fire
By: Scourge Date: July 10, 2016, 9:45 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Scourge stepped out of an orphanage on second street barricading
the door to prevent anybody from fleeing. With a large sadistic
smile he turned looking up at the building he'd set ablaze. The
fires consumed the complex filled with a thousand tiny screams.
Soon the smoke would suffocate the crying children drowning out
their tiny voices. The green hedgehog looked up with a malicious
grin. He was rather pleased with the lives he had taken along
with the suffering he'd sewn. Deciding to reward himself he
patted his jacket down looking for his lighter. He soon located
the small metal box flipping it open to light his cigar. He blew
a cloud of smoke into the air after inhaling adding to the murky
sky above the burning building. Bodies fell one after the other
becoming fuel for the fire with nobody left to save. "Now we
just wait until one of those heroes show up." He said simply
enjoying his rich tobacco running his fingers along the smoking
cyinder.

As most scenarios like this, a hero must be present in such a
tale. Which was why Mallow had been in the neighbor. His ears
were filled with the screams of children and he felt his blood
turn to ice. His mind flashed back to that dark time in his
memories, and his body froze for a split-second before he
grabbed his gear, and took off towards the source. He took one
look at the burning building and broke into action. Pulling on
his fire-stunt suit from his time at the circus, and power
boots, and slipped on his heat-proof visors to filter the bright
lights from the flames he's was going to encounter.
Leaping from his perch, the power he used to launch himself
broke the platform, and he rocketed towards a top floor window,
he ducked his head and would smash through a window to get
inside. Once inside, he would use his super hearing to pinpoint
each person and carrying them out one or two at a time,
depending on their size.

Spotting a few people now able to run for the exit Scourge was
put into a foul mood. "Well looks like the Calvary is here.
Better go see which one turned up." Scourge zipped out to the
top floor halting Mallow's path. He wasn't impressed with what
he witnessed flicking the cigar toward's Mallow with it bouncing
off his head. "You....again. So what they send you as clean up?
When dose the real hero show up? Seriously we just waiting on
big blue or Blaze maybe?" Scourge sensed Mallow came alone and
his smile turned to a glare. "You mean to tell me not even a
fire in a children's housing is enough to get Sonic or his team
here. I'm about to teach you why playing the hero is a gave
error. You've no special powers like Sonic and his team. I'm
going to drop your corpse at his feet." He barked violently
giving Mallow a chance to respond.

Mallow had been guiding the kids and staff to the new exit he
had made to the fire escape and other routes when something hit
his head, he brushed it off and glanced up but the ceiling was
intact. That was when Scourge spoke up and the rabbit stared at
the hedgehog. "You..." His grip on a crying child tightened
protectively as his mind flashed back to a similar situation,
similar fire, but same hedgehog. He snorted at the harsh and
negative words, but the child quivering in his arms made his
comeback quick. "I don't need powers to do what's right,
darling," he retorted, then without warning, backflipped out of
the top window with the child in his arms. His ears acted as a
stabilizer as he glided down to the ground, and sent the child
on their way to the nearest fire station, then turned back to
the situation at hand. The top floor was clear, as far as his
senses could tell, but the smoke muddled them a bit.
Nevertheless, he couldn't quit, and with that hedgehog here,
things were going to get dicey very quickly.

Scourge came crashing out the window in a roaring spindash like
a whirling buzzsaw. He was aimed right for the rabbit shooting
at insane speeds. He shattered the wall and window he came
crashing through ten stories up as he rain down upon Mallow in a
storm of speed and shattered glass. Scourge was intending on
either cutting Mallow badly or sending him into the ground like
he was hit by a green canon ball.

Mallow's ears perked when the whirring sound of Scourge sliced
down at him, clipping his arm as he tried to dodge. The rabbit
let out a grunt and gripped the wound, watching as red welled up
and began streaming through the torn fabric, staining it and his
coat red. Damn. This suit was not going to be cheap to repair.
He gritted his teeth and sent a flurry of kicks at Scourge,
targeting the face and chest.

Scourge moved aside watching the rabbit begin kicking air. Using
his faster than light reflexes he moved to counter attack. He
placed his fingers around Mallow's face slamming him into the
ground harshly. Afterwards he raised his foot over his head
bring it slamming down towards Mallow's stomach. Scourge was
trying to wind the rabbit while he was down intending crush his
lungs with his biker boots.

Mallow squeezed his eyes shut when the back of his head slammed
into the ground, his body tingled all over as it lay there on
the pavement and the world's sound became muddled. He blinked
and snapped into action when he saw the green hog's leg raise up
and the rabbit's instincts took over, his hand clamped around
Scourge's wrist grabbing his face, then kicked his foot up;
putting everything into a nasty crotch kick. If his feet without
the power boots could shatter stone... well.... Mallow wasn't
sorry for possibly preventing this handsome hedgehog from sewing
his seed in future mating seasons. Mallow would use Scourge's
moment of weakness to reverse somersault and get back on his
feet. He would then attempt to roundhouse kick Scourge in the
gut.

Scourge hunched over in crippling pain stumbling backwards. "You
f,ucking fag.." He managed to wheeze out trying to gather his
bearings still. Before long Scourge took a deep breath thankful
the last hit got more of his stomach than it did his privates.
Taking a moment to adjust he saw the incoming round house and
stopped it in it's tracks holding out his hand. With the rabbits
foot firmly within his grasp he placed his fingers between his
toes. With a smug smirk he spoke. "This little piggy got
butchered." He said dislocating one of Mallow's toes. fully
intending on paying Mallow back for that cheap shot Scourge
bolted off vanishing from sight. Soon a green blur started
circling the burning building about a hundred times a second.
The speedster seemed to be drawing in energy as electricity
begun to spark and crackle building up in a circle around the
tower. Once lighting had begun to crack widely due to the
speedster's circuit Scourge rushed towards Mallow. He held his
fist high as it was coursing with raw energy he had built up. He
rushed Mallow fist raised ready to deliver a powerful thunder
punch.

Mallow felt a slight twinge run up his leg when his toe was
dislocated and narrowed his eyes in irritation at Scourge to see
him vanish and run laps around the building in a yellow and
green blur. "Well, darling, call it returning the love for how
you touched my heart the last time we met," he said shifting his
stance, the pain of the damaged toe was barely registered as the
feeling in his feet was next to nothing. This is what it meant
to be a pro. He braced himself when the blur of light came at
him and got the shock of his life. His vision went white for a
moment, and his entire body was numb, but his guts hurt at the
same time, but he couldn't stop. Not now, he couldn't give up!
Turning on his power boots to maximum power, he launched himself
at Scourge and attempted another Gatling kick, which consisted
of a hail of kicks aiming for a general direction, a hit and
miss sort of attack, good against fast opponents.
