Beat you black and blue

Blood warning
Sapphire had dropped off Veira before heading out elsewhere
herself, glad to have escaped the exploding chemical plant along
with her friends and the others she'd only recently met as well.
But now she needed some time away, even after a year or so of
just that.
The hedgehog trudged along, wandering away from whatever was
still there of Mobotropolis city, walking away even from
Knothole. Not stopping till she'd reached a wide valley on the
outskirts of a thick forest. The valley was littered with
patches of beautiful and well coloured wild flowers, peeking out
from the tall grass to get a taste of the warm sun in the sky
above.
Sapphire wandered about the valley and even came across a patch
of cement ab out the middle of the field, like someone had
planned to start a house there but never finished past the
foundation.
Sitting down in a patch of wild flowers and smooth grass, the
hedgehog would begin to run her fingers through the grass and
flowers, feeling the earth beneath her fingers, she'd breathe in
deeply before huffing the air out slowly. She was real. But how
do you prove something like that to someone so important?
Sapphire would flump down onto the soft bed of grass and roll
onto her tummy, kicking her legs up as she hummed softly,
closing her eyes and enjoying for a brief moment the warm
comforting feeling that the sun beating down on her back
brought.
Until someone blocked the sun from reaching her.
The blue hedgehog would look back over her shoulder, whomever it
was, was silhouetted by the sun's beaming light, but she could
make out the outline and who it was made her scrambled to her
feet.
"Scout!" Sapphire would almost squeal with excitement and glee,
he was just the face she needed to see right now. As she wrapped
her arms around the bat swinging tiger and hugged him close,
she'd not notice he wore no smile he usually did when around
her, in fact he wore a look of hate and disgust as she hugged
him. Sapphire would find herself shoved off and away by the
tiger soon enough. "Wh..wha.. Scout?" She'd tilt her head as the
tiger pulled out his bat and rammed it against the center of her
chest, pushing her backwards and towards the cement slab in the
middle of the field. "[shadow=Mediumblue,left]How dare you touch
me, ya nothin but a fake, you where never real doc, Sonic is
right[/shadow]" Scout would say, giving her a hard jab to the
chest which would knock her over onto the ground. Sapphire
gasped lightly at this and started tearing up, looking up
Scout's bat as he pointed it down at her, as if to make sure to
keep her at an arms distance.
Sapphire didn't know nor question how he knew about what Sonic
had said earlier, she wanted badly for Scout's comfort... She'd
reach up to the tiger, tears welling up, ".. No.. No I'm real!
Scout its me!" She'd manage to get out before loosing the breath
for words from her rapid breathing.
Scout would lean down to her, putting a hand on her cheek and
leaning in close, Sapphire smiled at this and closed her eyes,
Scout wouldn't be doing what she was hoping he would though.
"[shadow=Mediumblue,left]You're nothing but a liar doc, a
freakin liar and a fake, I do not believe dat I ever trusted
you. The whole team hates you. Ya friends hate you. Sonic hates
you.. I hate you[/shadow]".
Scout would rise, batting Sapphire's outstretched hand aside
with no sign of gentleness before booting her in the side to
send her closer to the cement slab. Sapphire would let out a
soft whimper before trying to get up, only for Scout to grab her
by the hair, pick her up and slam her head first down onto the
cement slab, making Sapphire let out a cry of pain, "Scout stop!
Scout I'm real! It's me!" She'd whimper as he picked her up and
slammed her down again, dropping her to kick her in the side.
Sapphire wouldn't fight back, after being kicked she'd use her
shaky arms to push herself up onto all fours, staring wide eyed
at the ground as blood gushed from her nose and dribbled from
the side of her mouth, she'd cough and the red liquid would
splatter onto the cement beneath her making tears roll down her
cheeks. She'd look up just before receiving a sharp bat to her
right arm, sending her back to the ground.
Scout would grin and walk circles around her, wiping the blood
off his bat before tossing it to the air. Sapphire took this
time to roll to her side, heaving in some air before going to
reach for her medigun, which she found wasn't healing her
naturally as it usually did...
"[shadow=mediumblue,left]Pathetic[/shadow]" Scout would murmur,
narrowing his eyes at Sapphire as she striping led to unclip the
medigun with one hand. He'd go and u clip it for her before
hitting her over the head with her own healing gun. Making her
cover her head in her arms and curl into a ball.
Scout would forcefully tear the medigun and it's healing pack
from Sapphire and toss it aside, almost compeltley smashing it
into the concrete in doing so. "[shadow=mediumblue,left]You're
not worthy to be our Medic. No fakes are allowed on dis
team[/shadow]" He'd taunt, slamming a foot down o to one of her
legs before smashing his bat across both her legs.
Sapphire would cry out in pain, tears streaming down her face,
but he didn't stop there. Reaching into her medic pack he'd pull
out her syringe gun, emptying it of a bit of ammo, he'd twirl a
needle in his hand, getting over the top of Sapphire's back to
keep her on the ground before he'd stab the needle into her
shoulder, then another into her other shoulder. No matter how
loud Sapphire would scream or cry, he didn't stop.
"[shadow=mediumblue,left]And da best part is. Everyone else is
either busy or hates you. No one is going ta come looking for
you. No one is going ta help you. Not even a week or so back
here and look at you[/shadow]" Scout would say softly, brushing
a hand gently against one of Sapphire's cheeks as she lay there,
paralysed by pain and grief. Her bright cyan eyes had dulled,
looking to Scout's blue eyes, her eyes for once, seemed to hold
no hopeful glimmer or spark. This made the tiger grin, patting
her head as he got up "[shadow=mediumblue,left]You've failed,
runt. You'll never save your time, or ya Dad, or anyone else for
dat matter, it's over, much like you are now. They're gone and
You'll never save them. No matter how many times you come back
here to change dat[/shadow]" He'd sneer, giving her medic kit a
swift kick to skid it further away from her before wandering
off, chuckling as he left her there in her own tears and blood
on the cement slab in the middle of no where with night falling.
Sapphire didn't see the appearance of none other then Anti Robin
come to collect 'Scout', whom had changed back to whom it really
was. Crystal, Sapphire's anti, the two would disappear in a
flash of light shortly afterwards.
Sapphire was left there, trying to overcome the shock and pain
'Scout' had just put her through, the needles still stuck out
from the back of her shoulders, blood still oozed from her nose
and mouth, her legs and arms and body in general ached with
bruises and wounds. Her breathing was becoming steadied but was
rather raspy and she struggled to get in a good amount of air.
She'd take one more try at reaching for her medigun, reaching
out and trying to grasp it within her fingers. But she could not
reach. Sapphire would drop, her cheek resting on the blood
splattered ground beneath her as she lay limp and still, only
moving gently and almost unnoticeably to her steady raspy
breathing. Her eyes closed. Her mind trying to find something
positive to latch onto...

A bright blue shinning light gleams the area dropping off a
black entity aka the Sonic look-alike, Shadow the Hedgehog. Ruby
red eyes scanned the scenery trying to figure out his location
and what to do next, the thought of those freedom fighters were
certainly in his mind especially that blue arrogant hedgehog .
He didn't know what to think of the bunch, they seemed pretty
strong when working together as a group, he can clearly see why
this Robotnik fellow had so much trouble with them. Sonic on the
other hand...bothers him greatly, first that guy attacked him
for little to no reason, second he tried to kill him with a
missile despite being there to provide assistance to the team,
some "hero" he turned out to be. He was under the impression he
went by a "no Kill" moral code.
The most irritating thing about him was that he looks just like
himself..and he couldn't figure out why that was the case. Was
he a relative he has never heard about? If so then he is
probably a cousin..the ones who will sometimes show up to ruin
your life.
His eyes grew larger spotting an injured little blue shrew on
the floor, battered, bruised and obviously nearing death. He
quickly rushes over to her hoping she has some form of life
within her. "Hey can you hear me!?..what happened to you!?" he
kneeled down on one leg in front of her.

Sapphire would remain still where she lay even after Shadow had
appeared, her face cringed slightly at the bright blue light at
first though, believing it to be Crystal or someone else who'd
shown up to harm her more.
She'd not move or speak, simply remaining there to await more
pain to be put upon her, but nothing could hurt quite as much as
the images still fresh on her mind of Scout's look of hatred as
he inflicted pain upon her and like Sonic had, accused her of
being fake.
But this was not the case. Instead the black and red hedgehog
she'd met earlier had turned up and was kneeling down in front
of her. With a blurry vision at first all Sapphire could make
out was that whomever it was had spikes and was about Sonic
size, so she assumed at first that it was Sonic, but she
wouldn't of been able to move away even if it was the real
Sonic. She reached up with a weak and shaky bruised arm, gently
touching Shadow's elbow with a bloodied hand before dropping it
back against the concrete with a gentle thud, smearing a bit of
her blood against Snadow's arm in the process. She'd shift
lightly but her body hurt so badly to move at all.
She wanted to answer Shadow, but couldn't in her current state.
So instead she pointed at the Medic kit a few steps away, hoping
that seeing the medic symbol would let Shadow know she needed
medical assistance first before she could tell him what he'd
asked.

He gazed his eyes to lock unto the firearm-like device her
finger was pointing to and frowned, he had no idea what was
going on or whether or not to pull out those medical needles
first before doing anything, he obediently approach the near
broken healing contraption and studied it for a moment, it
wasn't too hard for the hedgehog to figure out the mechanisms
behind the device as being the ultimate life form has its perks.
He picks it up then aims for the injured smaller rodent then
pulls the trigger to try and heal her wounds. he hope this would
work.

A lightblue healing most would burst out the nozzle of the
medigun and head straight to Sapphire, straight away her smaller
wounds would closer over and heal themselves, her bruises washed
away and blood would slow down on gushing from her nose and
mouth. The medigun' magic healing mist however would soon
flicker and then cease to spurt out, the medigun pack sparking
from being thrown to the ground and kicked earlier. It had
healed her somewhat but not fully, it was better then nothing
however!
Sapphire pushed herself up onto her feet, although unsteady and
wobbly she managed to stay up, she'd walk over to Shadow, her
legs shaking like jelly as she did so. After reaching him she'd
check over her gun before cringing at a sharp pain to her
shoulders, looking back she noticed she still had the needles in
her back, she bit her lower lip but managed a small smile to
Shadow, taking one of his hands in both of her's,
"[sub][sub]Thank you[/sub][/sub]" She said gently, giving
another cough which would cause a small trickle of blood to
dribble from her mouth.
The young hedgehog sniffed, her eyes tearing up again as she
wiped her mouth and began to collect all her things back
together after they'd been scattered from the beat up earlier.
"Weren't you at the chemical plant earlier?"

Once she thanked him and took his hand, immediately he softened
up and was sympathetic with her, his facial expression remained
the same, stoic and hardened like a shell shocked veteran. sharp
ruby eyes had sparkled detecting young innocence within her,
that smile greatly reminding him of a friend he once lost.
He has no idea why this was happening..but this warm feeling
felt very good to him. Amusingly this was the exact same thing
Ty had came to view her when they first encountered each other.
How in the hell does Sapphire make people warm up to her is
unknown..perhaps she puts them into some kind of hypnosis?
"Yes.." he nodded strangely speaking in a softer tone. Those
needles are still painful and distracting to look at, better get
rid of them.
"Stay here...I will be the one to treat your injuries.." and
with that he demonstrated the biggest reason why he shares a lot
in common with Sonic aside from dashing looks, his signature
speed, zooming around in a golden speed trail away and back in
front of Sapphire's view, medical kits are piling up on the
ground, in a matter of seconds he had entered Mobotropolis and
searched through every single hospital only managed to retrieve
some supplies that he could find.
Before he patched her up he had to carefully removed those
needles, it took longer than expected but he finished it anyway.
Next he began to wipe away the blood with a smooth cloth, taking
some small patches to place on her fur and skin. The Ultimate
Lifeform did the best he could do, he didnt possess any
knowledge of medical history.

Sapphire would stay put when she was asked to, looking a bit
concerned as Shadow came back with a ton of medical equipment,
she was a medic but she couldn't operate on the injuries on her
back like this, not here. Was he going to himself?
Indeed.
Sapphire would let out two yelps at the needles being pulled out
from her body, tears selling up in her eyes as she bit her lower
lip and glanced back over her right shoulder. She'd give a few
jumps and flinches from the stings but stayed as still as
possible for Shadow, she knew how hard a moving person was to
work on medically.
Sapphire closed her eyes as he wiped away the blood with a
smooth cloth and patched her up in places, she'd smile lightly
by the end of it, but it was still hard to smile fully and she
still had no hope glimmering back in her eyes. "Thank you" She'd
say again, nodding her head to him as she sat down and rubbed
her lightly bruised legs, the medigun had healed most of what
'Scout' had done to them but she'd roll a bit of medical tape
around her right one, securing it before resting back and
looking up at the afternoon sky before looking to Shadow, "We
where in a bit of a rush back when we last met, I'm Sapphire if
you didn't quite catch it the first time, thank you for helping
me.. You uh.." She frowned gently before looking aside, hugging
her knees as she gave a light sigh and closed her eyes "I'm
sorry if this comes across as rude, but I cannot help that you
somewhat remind me of... Of So.. Of another blue hedgehog that's
very well known.. You're even quick on your toes, he's the
fastest thing alive so I guess you can see a resemblance there"
She'd take in a deep breath and clutch her side, wincing "I mean
no offence just.. Yeah.. Uh.. Sorry you have to see me like
this.." Sapphire rubbed her right eye of tears as the left had
one slide down her cheek. She hugged her legs tighter and hide
her face behind them. Not wanting to let Shadow see her cry.

"Shadow" he replied, the rest of her words, surprisingly he was
not even shocked nor fazed about Sonic being the fastest thing
alive, this was the second time he was told the phrase by the
blue blur himself and this smaller hedgehog before him. The
whole time he thought the little stunt Sonic pulled against him
earlier was just him copying Chaos Control using his speed.
Why wasn't he awestruck like any other person hearing about his
speed was strange, maybe because there was more to this black
hedgehog then it meets the eye. "What happened?" he once again
demanded an explanation for her condition.

It wasn't long til the cyan hedgehog had arrived after the
chemical plant fiasco, feeling a little dazzled from the trip
seeing as he wasn't used to that speed. He dropped down on the
patch to take a breather, til he saw the lil shrew badly
injured, luckily Shadow was there to provide her support in an
instant otherwise she would be a goner. He was glad she was safe
out of the plant however where are the others wasn't Sonic and
Viera with her? Looking back, it was sickening to think who on
mobius could have done this to her and why? He reached inside
his pocket taking out a piece of fabric. He gently reached out
and gave it to her, hopefully he was able to do something
helpful to her. Now sitting eye to eye with the hedgehog he
asked "Sapph-- who did this to you--what did they look like?" as
he was curious to find out who the suspects were behind, this
didn't look like the work of the doc.

"Thank you for saving me Shadow" She would thank him yet again,
not looking up or bringing her head out from behind her legs.
She gulped at being asked what happened, hugging her legs
tighter.
Then Soul appeared and was giving her a bit of fabric and was
sitting eye to eye with her. He too asked who did this to her.
She teared up more biting her lower lip before bursting into
tears and putting her beaten hands over her face ".. Scout did
it! He came out of no where while I was trying to-" She'd gasp
for air, not uncovering her face "trying to get some air after
the chemical plant and after Sonic.." Since Soul was closest
he'd find her flinging her arms out and pulling him into a hug,
she gripped onto Soul tightly to help relieve the pain but it
didn't really help. Sapphire would press her forehead against
the other hedgehog's shoulder and took a few moments before
continuing, "Sonic told me to leave him alone and that I was a
fake and not his daughter.. That's why I came out here then
Scout... He's a tiger in a blue shirt with deep blue eyes and
brown pants, he has..." Just thinking of him hurt, he was so
stunning to her.. "Black hair and sometimes has a cap on, he
usually carries a bat around with him... He somehow found me
here and he.. Called me a liar and a fake... I'm on a team with
him and.. He said no one would come help me and everyone hates
me and... He wasn't very gentle.." She let Soul go and hugged
her legs again going very quiet, she'd rested Soul's fabric on
her knees for the moment and used it to wipe away tears.
Physically, Shadow had done quite a job on fixing her up. But
emotional damage couldn't be fixed by medical supplies or even a
medigun.
