Chemical Plant Zone: Act 1. Freedom Fighters Strike Back

Shadow's Chaos Control would bring them suddenly to an Area none
of them would recognize. A new zone had been built be Eggman,
with the express purpose of manufacturing Chemicals. What had
once been a beautiful beach and Forest was now and Industrial
Mess. All around them were large storage tanks that stood like
towering buildings, and the sky was covered in a thick smog that
blocked out the smog. If it wasn't for the various lights of
the zone it would be pitch black. The Heroes however wouldn't
get much time to look around as the roar of an engine was heard
overhead. The Egg Carrier flew over the group and deeper into
the zone. As it did so a Capsule dropped from itself, Eggman's
Logo Clearly sprayed on it. It slammed somewhere in the Zone,
and no doubt they'd run into it eventually.
Should they be astute enough they'd probably notice the fact
that the Chemicals in some tanks were openly spilling into the
Ocean. Poisoning the water and turning it a sickly Purple
color. There were no fish, Plantlife, or anything alive in the
area. Only whatever badniks Eggman had left to defend the Zone.
It was... well... Horrible to be perfectly Honest. The smell
alone was bad enough. Smelling like that of Rotting vegetables
and the like.
The group would be standing on a Platform suspended over a
chemical Sea, in front of them were two pathways snaking about
before diverging in two seperate paths. They both seemed to
lead to the same place ultimately but the team would have to
decide a course of action. It was time for them to prove
themselves. Were they Freedom Fighters? Or Pretenders?
It was time to start

As the group teleported towards the ship from what was left of
the once proud capital, Veira was lost in thought. She wanted
her friend back. She wanted to know he was safe. As she looked
at Ty, she wondered just how bad he must be feeling right now.
They all came from the same home but those two were brothers.
She regretted punching him as her ears lowered a bit thinking
back to before. However when they arrived at their new location,
her expression changed to one of shock. Just where were they
right now. She had been alive for a year now and this was the
first time seeing this place.
Looking to the sky, the clouds were completely shrouded by the
chemicals. The smell in the air caused her to cover her nose
slightly. God did this place stink. Taking a look around below
them, the purple water made her feel uneasy. Suddenly a sound of
an engine caused her to look up and see Eggman's airship flying
over them. When a pod launched from it, Veira crossed her arms a
bit as she stepped forward.
" Just hold on Blaze...we're coming to save you." she said a she
balled up her hand a bit.

Even before the flash of light faded completely they were aware
they had changed location as the rotten stench reached all four
soldiers. While the stench was horrid and made them regret not
bringing gas masks, they managed to keep it from getting to
them. Things didn't exactly light up when the light faded
either, it only revealed the devastated environment, much to
their horror. Maria in particular was completely unable to
comprehend the amount of pollution, machinery and factories. As
if that wasn't enough, they all felt the smog making it slightly
harder to breath, though not by much.
"Who could, and would, do such horrible things?" Maria asked
once she got over being teleported, "tha- that monster... he'll
pay for this, i swear."
Sabine also took a good look around before chuckling at how
fired up her squadmate got from seeing all the death and decay,
"Indeed he will, come on then, let's go get ourselves some
payback, i think we've all earned it."
"You might get that payback earlier then, 'cause we got
something heading our way," James muttered while pointing at the
capsule and following it down, he then turned to the rest of the
group, "so, two routes, do we split our forces and go either way
or do we commit to one path?"
Guntram didn't say much, he just stood there and tried to make
sense of it all, he had certainly managed to get out of the
comfort zone this time around.

By the time Anton caught onto what Chaos Control was it was
already too late for him as he was blinded by the same light
that had flashed when they vanished from the large explosion.
Things didn't go as smooth for him this time as they arrived on
the platform. Due to his position when it all happened, he ended
up appearing just to the side of it and almost went for a swim
as gravity took hold of him. He managed to grab onto the
platform and dig his claws in but it wasn't enough and the
platform wasn't made of soft materials so he was slipping. It
did make a horrid sound though as his claws scratched against
the platform. As for his weapon, it was swinging back and forth
as it hung on his boot. He wanted to get it up, but letting go
right now wasn't an option. As much as he wanted to remain
concealed, he was going to die if he didn't call for help from
the group.
"H- h- hey!" he called out as he forced his heartbeat to slow
down to more reasonable speeds, "a- about to go into the drink,
need... assis- assistance!"

Everyone suddently appeared out of thin air, standing on an
unknown platform, The Egg Carrier flies above thier heads
shortly after thier arrival, Shadow wasnt kidding about his
claims of being able to warp everyone where they need to go,
Now where are they?
Barrels of blue liquid stored inside, the same color substance
traveling trough giant pipes sturctured to look like a
rollercoaster track, toxic fumes blocking out the sun giving the
sceneray a more ominoius look. They are indeed inside a chemical
factory, fitting for an evil genious. Ty growing more determined
to save his sibling he steps out in front of the pack preparing
to make the jump. "We keep moving.."replying to the G.U.N unit
with few words than usual.
Without hesitation he makes an astondishing leap, firmly landing
on the left path with ease and took off ice skating leaving
behind a frosty speed trail.

Shadow was rather curious by this strange chemical factory, the
twisting paths and corkscrews only served to fuel his need for
speed, as bad as the place looks due to all of this horrible
pollution this going to be one of those places he is going to
have some fun running through. A challenging smirk sprouted on
his muzzle as he too prepares to make the jump.
"Hope you can keep up with me!" he grinned with confidence. He
jumps and curls into a black and red spinning ball, choosing to
go right he blast off with breakneck speed leaving behind a
golden trail and even leaving Ty in the dust because of how fast
he is.

Ty's comment was short but effective and seeing him leap into
action was rather impressive. James was about to assign the
squad when Shadow shot off at speeds that could only be rivaled
by the blue hedgehog himself.
"Okay, so they're off, seems we'll be splitting up then," James
sighed and then got his game face on, "Okay, we are on a tight
schedule, Sabine and Maria, you go after the Ice wielder,
Guntram, you're with me and going after the speed demon. Got it,
then let's going, move move move!"
With that they all four stepped off and went for their
respective paths. Compared to the others their jumps were
unremarkable and their speed as they ran down the paths were
horrible. But that was to be expected given that they were
ordinary soldiers.

Sonic had arrived at the Chemical Plant Zone as he had been
tailing the Egg Carrier intent on taking Eggman down. This time
he'd do it alone as to not endanger his friends. Sonic had no
need for teleportation as he could be anywhere in the world in
less than a nanosecond with his speed. The blue hedgehog looked
at the sorry sight before him fanning the foul stench of burning
chemicals away from his nose. His eyes shot wide open spotting
his team already on the trail. With a proud smirk he nodded.
"Figures those guys are always tenacious. Time for a run with
the boys." That said Sonic looked at the left path his brain
planning the entire route to run in less than a second with
Sonic's insane thinking speeds. Leaning down he placed his
fingers against the floor. Smug smile emerging he looked ahead
with determination and blue lightning surging within his eyes.
As he took off he utterly annihilated the sound barrier
shattering it as an ear piercing sonic boom shot out across the
zone. Sonic zoomed far ahead of the others gaining more and more
speed. Sonic ran through the loops and slid under pipes letting
nothing slow his momentum. Spotting the Egg Carrier ahead Sonic
skidded to a stop. He kicked the top off a pipe and curled up
into a ball jumping down. The sewer system sucked Sonic in and
set him shooting into the air. He reached out into the air only
to fall back to the ground. "Damn it not enough height." He spat
as he tried to reach the Egg Carrier. Zipping off again Sonic
smiled once again feeling alive.

Just like that Soul and the group appeared to a new zone, it was
rather gloomy though, all these machinery and storage tanks
followed by a foul stench which caught the hedgehog's smell it
made him wanna barf. He covered his nose and looked out to find
the source only to find a purple pool of liquid along with a few
drainage pipes. Looking on the platform they're standing on it
might be best to stay away from the water at all times. If they
we're supposed to be teleported close to Robotnik's ship
shouldn't they see it by now....but it wasn't here..where could
it be, his ears perked up and looked over head as the aircraft
just flew by them..with perfect timing.
He saw some sort of capsule ejecting from it...was that Blaze?
Well if it was him...the pod landed somehwere in the zone and
right now infront of them were two diverging pathways, leading
to who knows where but only one leads to what they're looking
for .Splitting seems like a good option but what made the
hedgehog worry is the possibility of the other group getting
either lost or away from the target eitherway. He was about to
make a remark about the plan when he saw Ty and Shadow blast off
on their own. "Jeez! that Shadow guy sure was fast...even fast
as Sonic" he commented on the speed demon when he heard a loud
call.
Going over to the edge of the platform there he saw Anton
clinging on to his life, what stood between him was his weapon
he reached out his hand for him to hold of "Take my hand!" Once
he held onto him he would pull him back upwards on the platform,
but with the weight of his weapon Soul couldn't pull him well.
Using his flames he let blasted out against the platform lifting
him up a bit along with Anton as he set him back on the track.
"Whew! That was a close one...ya alright?" he asked Anton.

Sapphire would drop to the floor straight after the Chaos
control, the use of the emeralds seemed to have made her pass
out for a moment, she'd hit the floor in curled up heap and stay
there up until some had already taken off down the paths. She
blinked slowly, and started to push herself back up, the stench
that the zone brang filling her nose, making her scrunch up her
muzzle.
The zone was awful it made her feel sick just looking at it, not
because of the awful smell but because of what it probably used
to be, and now it was this.
She got to her feet and swallowed, blinking away her blurring
vision until she could see straight again. Right after she'd
just gotten back up fully though someone quick, blue and cocky
would rush past, cracking a sonic boom that would knock her over
as she had only just gotten herself somewhat stable. She'd land
on her back and let out a gentle "Oof!" as she hit the ground,
the air getting knocked out of her. She gagged for some of the
air, soured by the chemicals it was polluted by.
Sapphire would jump back up to her feet and stumble, looking
forward, there was only one hedgehog she knew that could go that
fast so quickly... And there he was, speeding off along the zone
looking so free..
She would surprisingly walk forward first, steadily picking up
speed as she took the same path the other blue hedgehog had,
it'd been so long since she last saw him, he probably thought
she'd died with how he saw her last. How'd he take to seeing her
again? She was too excited to see him again to take the moment
to consider this long enough.
Her legs would become a blur of colour and she run, and run and
run, speeding up everytime her feet hit the ground, trying
desperately to get to Sonic, the Sonic she'd proudly call her
Dad anyday.
"Sonic!" She'd call out to him, her eyes tearing up a bit just
at seeing him. "[sub][sub]Dad?[/sub][/sub]"
