The End Of The Void: Sonic Returns

It'd been almost a week and Sonic had spent almost every second
bickering and fighting with his arch rival in a crystal
wasteland. With no idea what was going on back in his home he
was unaware that Eggman had returned and was worried what
Scourge was would to his home if left unchecked. The past month
Sonic had been subject to such suffering. Stuck in here he
fought against the lord of evil himself Dr. Robotnik. His
battles wearing on along with the hopes of escape as every
second in here was consumed with survival. Knuckles bloodied and
legs tired he could barely stand after the nonstop mental and
physical onslaught. Experiences like this would have broken a
lesser creature yet Sonic survived. The loss of his brother,his
city and now his partner these were the heaviest of burdens he
had to endure. Knocking Robotnik down barely with the strength
to stand still suffering through this endless battle.

With out so much as a warning a warp Ring appeared in the void.
Its golden hoop softly glowing as it slowly spun about. That
was it... Someones chance to escape! However through the middle
of it Eggman would be seen, smiling as he watched. He was at
the other end of the warp ring, smiling and stroking his
Mustache as he gave an amused chuckle. "As much as I enjoy
watching Sonic bleed..... I think its time to put an end to this
madness..."

Catching a glittering object out of the corner of his eye Sonic
rushed towards it, only only slam on the breaks skidding to a
stop. He saw Eggman through it wearing a stupid smug smile.
Giving an annoyed sigh the hedgehog hero bit his lower lip
muttering. "I'm trading one mustached maniac for another." He
jumped through the wrap ring as it closed behind him. Panting he
took a moment to catch his breath. A wave of relief washed over
Sonic as he watched the portal close. The vicious monster would
continue to be contained. He looked up at the man in the red
thriller jacket with sheer hatred burning within his pale blue
eyes. In an instant Sonic was at Eggman's throat grasping onto
his jacket fist raised.
"YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OF THIS! Came back to gloat huh? My
city, my friends and KARAHL! You took everything from me. I'm
going to make you regret opening the void." Sonic's hand started
to vibrate until it became an almost invisible blur. "I'm not
going to kill you but I've got no problem with scrambling your
brains Egghead! You ever been hit by punch at the speed of
sound? 1000 miles per hour! I can make it nonlethal but it's
more than enough to cause you permanent brain damage. You're
never going to hurt anybody ever again. This is for Karahl. Any
last words before you become a vegetable?" He asked raising his
fist with fury.

As the portal closed Eggman cackled to himself, pointing at the
ring. He sighed then looked up at Sonic. He smiled wide as
sonic Spoke. "Come now sonic..." He said. " You couldn't bring
yourself to kill me if you tried. Your constant Failure to kill
Robotnik is the same reason you wont do it to me." He chuckled.
" And yes I did take everything from you... but so did Robotnik
didn't he? Your family... your friends..." He frowned. "Without
me you would be nothing. No one would even care for your name
Rodent."
He smiled wider as he pushed a button on his arm piece. A
screen turned on behind Eggman, showing an image of Karahl.
"She's still alive Sonic... She's still alive and looking for
you. Longing for you... And I know where she is..." He chuckled
darkly. "She's left clues all around the world and I found
them." He narrowed his eyes. Another screen turned on showing
off the destruction going on in Mobotropolis. "And if you
hurry... You can be the hero you want to be.. You can save
everyone. You can save her..." He smiled wider, showing off
those pearly whites of his. "That is.. If you aren't too slow.."

Angered further Sonic pressed his nose against the overweight
overlander's own. "There's a difference between killing you and
disabling you." As soon as the image of the white tigress
appeared on screen Sonic lowered his fist slowing the speed. Her
image was reflected upon his blue orbs and a heavy weight was
lifted from his heart. It took a moment for it to sink in and
Sonic knew better than to believe Eggman but he wanted to hold
onto the hope she was still alive. With the city on the monitors
Sonic knew what he had to do. With his rival's large grin being
displayed it annoyed Sonic to no end. He instead rammed his fist
into Eggman's mouth delivering a normal punch. Perhaps hard
enough to loosen a few teeth. Sonic dropped with a newfound
confidence as hope returned to the hero. "Send your robots I'll
turn them into scrap and steel. I've got the greatest weapon in
the planet I've forged with my own two feet. To feel the ground
under your feet lifting you up pushing you forward and the
lightning. I can feel the lightning. It's power...the
electricity pumping through my veins. Crackling through me
traveling to every nerve in my body like a SHOCK! Speed is my
game and when it comes to it I'm unrivaled. Watch your back
Egghead because justice is swift. I'll be back to deal with you
later." With that Sonic vanished leaving only a blue blur in his
wake. The speed at which he took off created a vast gust of wind
as he vanished from sight to save his city.
