Rapid Return

A interdimensional portal tore open into the reality of Mobius
prime above the city. Lightning and energy begun to surge as it
shot out a very fast blue object roaring towards the earth. The
portal closed and Sonic smiled hurtling towards home. He curled
into a ball as he caught fire from the speed and collided with
the earth like a falling meteorite. The massive amount of force
impact had created a crater just outside the city limits. Sonic
unfurled himself laying on his back. He looked up the big blue
sky and smiled. He sat in the smoking hole for a few moments
enjoying the gifts of nature. "The big open sky the gentle
breeze and green grass. I'd never thought I'd miss the simple
things the most. After weeks of being cooped up in that cage it
feels so good to be free." Sonic flopped over onto his hands and
started stretching his legs. "I can't remember when my last
decent jam was. Time to fix that." The hedgehog told himself as
his feet whir into an insane storm of red and white. He charged
up speed on the spot and blasted off utterly annihilating the
sound barrier. The resulting sonic boom was like a roar of
freedom as Sonic blasted across the open meadow at speeds
approaching a thousand miles per hour.
He soon came across the beach with the open ocean ahead. Any
sane hedgehog would have skidded to a stop but not Sonic. He
kept on rocketing ahead keeping up his momentum reaching the
edges of the sand meeting sea. His sneakers left sand now
treading atop liquid the world's fastest creature was giving a
middle finger to physics as he pushed on ahead running along the
surface of the water. He looked down his reflection shooting a
c,ocky smile back at him. Sonic looked on ahead to the jungle
and and ran into it wanting a challenge. He curled into a ball
rolling under a long and spin dashed up a tree trunk launching
himself into the air. Sonic struck some rapid poses before
gravity came into effect and he hit the ground again. Sonic
stopped planting his hand firmly into the ground as he wound up
his legs into wild rapids. The hedgehogs built up energy was so
vast it begun to distort reality as weird waves that looked like
a gas leak rippled across the air. Sonic shot off vanishing from
sight over the horizon as he begun to circle the earth. The blue
blur did a lap of the entire planet in less than five seconds.
He kept on running every lap of the planet he completed he
shaved a second off his total four second time. Sonic smiled as
the world became a blur as it passed him by. This was his true
power speed of light he closed his eyes enjoying the radical
rush of the light speed jump. This is where the blue hero felt
truly alive as his expression was filled with a passion for
life.
