(Act 1) Cryo-Stasis

Natasha frown as she looked at the footprints in front of her;
more than two sets. "I knew something wasn't right..." They were
smack dab in the middle of nowhere, far to the north and amid
countless cracks and splits in the ground, and in the home of
countless groups of lawless vagabonds. Go figure they'd end up
here, in this snowy wasteland. She shivered a little and pulled
her jacket tighter around her; it was times like these that she
was glad she hat a thick coat of fur and a little pudge to help
keep her warm.
"Bulby, how fresh are these tracks?" The little robot was quick
to respond; "[shadow=lavender,left][font=courier]Estimated
creation time - 15 minutes ago.[/font][/shadow]" The path ahead
wound through the ravines; it was obvious now why Natasha had
wanted to be prepared. "Well... I hope we can find him.." The
fresh powder held the tracks well, and it was obvious that it
was a large group that they were following after having followed
Ajax and Karahl's tracks out here. That, and some sort of tread
tracks; who knew what made those.

Veira had been following Natasha for quite some time now without
speaking She was a bit curious as to Ajax's whereabouts seeing
as she did meet him not to long after Natasha. Showing her his
deepest secret, she felt she needed to help Natasha anyway
possible. Taking a look at the tracks, Veira knelt down and
examined them closely. Sure, they had a robot's help but there
was no harm in checking anything else specifically. She decided
to ask a question.
" Say can bulb mark the identity of the footprints by any means?
That way we have an idea what we are getting ourselves into."
Veira asked.

Shoke stayed a decent bit close to Veira shivering. He mumbles
something under his breath as he plops his large backpack down
onto the snowy terrain and opens it up. He searches through the
large bag for a while and pulls out a yellow winter hoodie with
fur linings.
"Oh thank the heavens..." He says to himself, shivering. He
almost immediately puts on the hoodie and zips it up all the
way. He then digs through the bag some more and finds a black
case, which he opens revealing a green glow.
"What? Why would they send one of these after me...?" He says to
himself, barely audible to the rest of the group. He pulls a
green wrist ring out of the box and slips it over his left arm,
and then immediately heads over to Veira, his hands in his
hoodie's pockets. "So... what have we got?"

Korsy shivered slightly as he walked up to see what they had
found. He was mostly used to cold weather, but he did envy
mobians with fur as that provided better insulation than scales.
It didn't help the he spat poison instead of breathing fire, so
he couldn't warm himself. Simply put, he either endured or
succumbed to hypothermia... for now anyway.
He knelt down next to the others as he looked at the foot prints
and Bulb stating how fresh they were.
"So, now that we are here," he sighed and looked at them after
Veira asked her question, "is there anything you know about your
friend that could cause him to be involved in something like
this?"

Tails had been trudging along a bit behind the rest of the
group, trying to take in all their surroundings as they went,
Sonic and him had been on many adventures together for sure, but
the fox never got tired of the scenes.
This one in peticular was rather cold and snowy.
Thankfully, he had a fur coat and two thick bushy tails to help
keep himself warm, that aside, he was still shivering a fair bit
like the rest of them but was probably shivering the least.
Tails noticed Korsy and his scales, it must be quite bitterly
cold for him...
The yellow twin tailed fox trudged on over to him and offered
one of his tails to go around Korsy for a least a little warmth,
"You must be really cold!" He said rather questioningly to
Korsy.
Wether or not his tail was accepted and taken he'd still look
ahead to Natasha and the others as Bulby scanned the tracks and
announced how old they where, he tilted his head looking
intrigued at Bulby and the robot's capabilities before peering
at some of the tracks himself... What where those ones? "Hey
uh... We're looking for a mobian aren't we? While there's
certainly some footprints here, there's also these" He pointed
out the tread tracks, "I'm pretty sure we all know mobians alone
cannot make those kind of tracks and machines like tanks have
treads.." Other machines did too, tanks where just the first
thing to come to his mind. "Why would a tank-like machine be all
the way out here? We should probably be keeping a look out" A
tank wouldn't be the nicest thing to run into right about now,
unless if it was maybe an automatic robotic one that he could
get inside of and see how it works!

As the temperature dropped noticeably, the more hyperactive
Vallerah seemed to feel. She embraced the cold, thriving in it
so much that she ended up rolling up the sleeves of her top and
pants; as well as pulling down the zipper to her uniform a
little more just so she could get as much of the cold as
possible. She did some sort of small-kicking-dance of some kind
on the spot to expel what she could of the excess energy she
possessed.
"That fresh huh? Good~ Good~ Means that we have a better chance
of finding them before they find Ajax and Karrie right?" she
commented, kneeling down for a moment to scoop up the foot print
and took in a deep whiff. Whatever scent that was there, she
barely caught a trace of it... just enough to make her maw water
behind her mask.
The tigress then dropped the scoop onto the ground and walked
past the wolfess of the group, deliberately allowing for the tip
of her tail to drag along Veira's foot as she went.

The feline shrugged for a moment as she turned to Veira. "Beats
me as to who made them; Bulb needs DNA samples to do anything
other than basic tracking. I can bet you they aren't good
though." For a moment as she looked at Korsy, she considered
handing him her jacket, since she had fur anyway, but Tails
offered one of his famous tails before she could say anything.
Back to the questions then; "I know that Karahl mentioned
someone wanting to see him, as ominous as it sounded. They knew
where we lived, his routes, everything; it can't be someone
nice, Korsy..."
Natasha took a moment to dust a little snow off of her shoes, as
pointless as it was, and picked Bulb up, placing him gently on
her shoulder. "The land here is too craggy for heavy machines
Tails, but... maybe they're hauling something small? Small but
heavy..." She glanced over to Vallerah, confused by her unusual
addiction to the cold; were Karahl and her from northern lands?
Either way, it was nice to know at least someone enjoyed the
cold.

Veira looked at Natasha with a small frown but sighed
nonetheless. Well there goes one idea out the indow. She watched
as Vallerah came close to her and decided to scoop a bit of the
ground before taking a good sniff. The way the tiger acted as
she seemed unaffected by the cold made Veira tilt her head
slightly in interest. She also didn't miss her tail drag across
her foot either. Rising up to her feet, she followed after
Vallerah.
" You certain are an odd one. I never seen someone so thrilled
to be in the cold." Veira commented to Vallerah.

Korsy looked at Tails and was considering rejecting his offer,
but a sudden gust of wind caused him to shudder and cemented his
choice.
"You don't know the half of it," he sighed and accepted the
tail, "thanks a lot... i was freezing indeed."
He then looked to Vallerah, seems she thrived in the cold. But
enough about who was thriving in the given area, they were here
for a reason.
"I agree, that does sound highly suspicious and a very bad
obsession whoever it is," he nodded, taking note of the names,
"do you have any leads, any knowledge about who he used to be
with or someone that didn't take a liking to him, a mobian or
group that would like to see him removed?"
He started to study the tracks, they had been following two sets
for the most part, but now there were more and even a tread
tack. From what he had seen, it would probably be best to leave
the mechanical stuff to Tails, he seemed to like it.
"Before your fiance left with his escort, did they make any
mention that they would hook up with another group?" he asked as
he looked up ahead to see where the tracks were heading,
"because regardless, they have a 15 minute head start and keeps
getting further ahead while we track them..."
He didn't mean to stress them, but more to state the condition
they seemed to be working under.

Vallerah continued to grin before turning around so suddenly
that she cheekily booped noses with Veira. She pulled away and
gestured to the fur on her arm, "Thick fur. Mobians of my race
thrive in the cold." The tiger replied simply before adding to
the group, "Well I say that instead of playing Twenty Questions
we should skedaddle and find out for ourselves if these guys are
trouble for my sister and Ajax or not~ Obviously not rush
blindly into the situation, that would be silly! But it's better
than waiting around here!"
