Ruins of the Past (Ask to join) (Turank Ruins)
By: Zarroc Date: November 11, 2015, 12:16 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Silence. Silence for thousands of years. Nothing but the sounds
of the world around to give it any hint of life. Thus was the
state of the once proud dragon Capital. The sound of chainmail
and plate would be heard echoing about as the lone inhabitant of
the ruins made his rounds. Zar'roc's feet would click as they
hit the ground. He stopped, turning his head as he came to an
old Building. One he remembered so long ago. He'd wipe the
dust and cobwebs off the sign. "Inn" it said, written in the
Draconian text. He sighed softly, his memories of this place
returning. How many times he had to stop a drunken bar fight in
the downstairs tavern. He chuckled to himself at the memory,
but that chuckle faded as quick as it game. He sighed, resuming
his patrol.
The ruins sat atop a mountain. One of extreme height. SO much so
that the ruins itself was hidden away in a shroud of clouds.
Hidden to the mortals that lie beneath its gaze. Zar'roc was
alone up here, as he had been for so many centuries. He
stopped, hearing a sound for a moment. Falling rocks perhaps? He
looked about for a moment, keeping his senses on high alert for
several moments. After a few moments he'd snort smoke and return
to his marching, a Master Emerald Shard easily seen glowing in
his Double sided war axe. It was embedded into the metal, as if
it had been made for it specifically.

To be completely honest Kory wasn't certain of what he expected
when he started to scale the mountain.
He had felt the urge to explore and the mountain which top he
had never seen had always tugged hard at his curiosity. Now he
was feeling ready to actually attempt the climb to the top.
Getting up the mountain was exhausting for sure, but he was a
strong and agile dragon and besides, jumping between places he
could get a grip was a adrenaline kick he loved to experience.
Some might be curious as to why the winged didn't fly to the
top, well, he usually climbed the first time and then flew in
the future if he wanted to go back.
When he finally reached the top, the sight that met him was the
last thing he had expected. A massive city ruin, seemingly
abandoned.
If he had been curious when he started the climb, that was
nothing compared to what he felt now. He had to explore this
place, no way around it.
He hauled himself up and started to wander the place, uncertain
of where to begin.
He stopped, he swore he had heard something move around. It was
so silent, that every sound seemed to be much louder than they
normally were.
His senses were on edge, he had to figure out if he was right or
wrong, whether to continue exploring or just leg it.

Something was certainly moving about. The jingling of chain
echoing in the distance, the sound of Metal clanging. Almost as
if there was a ghost of a soldier about. The sound coupled with
the eerie silence didn't help. However soon the sound got
closer. Now the clicking of talons on the stone floor became
more apparent. A large shadow appeared on a wall before the
Wandering Korsy. It was large, had massive wings, and in its
hand was a large weapon of some sort. That is when Zar'roc came
around the corner. He sniffed the air slowly, growling to
himself. "There is someone here..." His voice echoed. " Some one
who does not belong here."
Intense heat would begin radiating off the dragon, filling the
area with heat not unlike that of a furnace. The Area grew
hotter with each moment, going from a cozy warmth, to the heat
of a sunny day. It was quite intense, such a dramatic change so
quickly.

Korsy was taken a back by the massive dragon that had come
around the corner. Granted Korsy wasn't small himself, clocking
in at a bit more than 6 feet himself, but this one was in a
completely different league. Not to mention, he was armored and
had a lot more muscle on his frame.
He was about to cloak himself in order to avoid detection, but
it seemed that he already had his scent and if that was the case
he would have no issue in picking up the trace that Shadowscales
left behind when they cloaked themselves. He could vanish and
use it to get out of immediate danger but that would also be
likely to tick him off.
Korsy decided to slowly back away from the large beast, slowly
and silently getting into cover, if all else failed he was from
one of the most agile breeds.
Then there was the heat, something that quickly got to him as he
tried to ignore it. Due to the genetic alterations to his
deveopment his scales were underdeveloped and didn't provide him
with the protection dragons were known for. He was vulnerable to
fire and while he could take several he wasn't able to deflect
anything, only buy time before he eventually drew blood.
As he got close to the tall remains of a wall he threw himself
in behind it, hoping he wasn't noticed.
In case he was, Zar'roc would have seen a tall emerald green
dragon with black horns, a airworthy wingspan and a lean
muscular frame, however, for in relation to his height, he was a
runt and compared to Zar'roc he was just a wimp.

Zar'roc turned his head right as Korsy jumped behind the wall,
catching but a glimpse of him. He slammed the butt end of his
large axe into the ground before his voice Boomed with power,
demanding of Respect. " INTRUDER!" He roared. Then the heat
seemed to intensify in the walls direction, as a Blast of flames
shot past it. If he hadn't of moved he would of been fried,
considering the intense heat coming off the fire was like being
next to an active volcano.
Zar'roc let out a slow growling hiss as he quickly headed
towards Korsy's spot, Axe held at the ready. With a mighty flap
of his wings he shot around the Corner, Locking eyes with Korsy
as he did so. He snarled, baring those teeth of his. "You do
not belong here." He growled.

Korsy swore as the booming voice made it clear he should have
acted faster. His move had saved him from being roasted and even
then, he showed signs of having taken its toll on him. He might
not be fireproof, but he was able to recover in time to lock
eyes with the mighty beast as he came around the corner at an
impressive speed.
Zar'roc's actions definitely intimidated the shadow scale as he
quickly got back on his feet.
At the moment, he couldn't come up with a counter or a way to
justify his actions, so he went with obvious one.
"No, i- i don't belong here," he managed to confess as he slowly
backed away, "so... what will you do to me?"
He had to stall him, he could deduct that with muscles like
that, he would be able to withstand a hit and he had
demonstrated his was fast. However... he didn't seem like the
kind that could make snap turns and twist that well. He had to
be able to beat him in agility. His body was tense, poised and
ready to leg it, he was weak and there was no way he would even
attempt fighting this monster of a dragon.

Zar'roc Narrowed his eyes as he sized up Korsy. He was a whelp
in all meanings of the term. No honor in killing him. Smoke
began to rise from his nostrils before he snorted outwards,
giving Korsy a face full of hot smoke. His hiss slowly grew
louder as he pushed his face closer to Korsy's, trying to make
him understand that he was in fact in control of the situation.
The heat radiating from him was still there, and since he was so
close it was only more intense.
"I"m going to throw you off of this place. You do not belong
here. You are not of the Turank Clan...." He stood up
straighter, his intimidating gaze not once leaving the other
dragon. "There is no Honor in killing you, so that would be
waste of my time." His grip on his axe seemed ot tighten as he
stood there. "However, if you trespass again, I will kill you"

Korsy started coughing as he found his vision completely
obstructed and smoke started entering his throat, causing his
eyes to water slightly. Furthermore, he was forced to step back
to not suffer a heatstroke.
The look Zar'roc got back was one of compliance, he was in
control of the situation and Korsy fully acknowledged the fact.
"The Turank Clan..." he trailed, he had heard that before, once
he had overheard some guy complaining that he wasn't from it,
only to be corrected and called an idiot, they were extinct many
many years ago, "...but i thought your kind was extinct."
He then shook his head, he couldn't let his curiosity get him
this time. It could cost him his life.
"I suppose i should have expected that," he sighed and looked
around before turning to leave, "but... why stick around here?
If you are of the Turank Clan... wouldn't you be the last of
your kind? Why wander these ruins like a phantom lost in the
past?"

"Mostly Extinct..." He said, his glare not once faltering. With
the questions of why he was still around he took a step back,
tapping his axe's butt on the floor twice. " I continue to do my
duty." He said. " I watch over The Mortals below, rarely
interfering in their business, while I keep them safe from some
of the most dangerous elder Beasts to ever exist." He snorted
once more. " Unlike the other clans who mingled with Mobians
enough to dilute their Blood line, The Turank kept to
themselves, keeping us Pure Bred. I am the Last True Dragon on
this planet. All others are a weaker species. Thats not to say
that you aren't a dragon. But it means you aren't worthy of
Being here in the hall of your ancestors." He pointed with his
axe to the closest set of stairs that led down the mountain.
"Leave." He said. " Only return should I summon you, or you
prove your worth my attention."

What he said, was a slight blow to Korsy's pride, not that he
wanted to admit it. Truth be told he was a full blooded dragon,
however, his social heritage from being raised by mobians along
with the poaching and modifications could perhaps call that into
question. But regardless, he wasn't diluted in anyway.
"That is very honorable of you, i will give you that," he said
while keeping his voice from betraying how he felt, he wanted to
ask about the elder beasts but he had a question that was more
important and he was on a strict time limit.
"I have one question, then i will leave," he promised as he
started walking toward the stairs, "are you sure your clan did
the right thing? You might remain pure and powerful, but now...
now you're all alone. If you want you heritage to continue...
the purity of your clan must be compromised... is that what you
want? Besides... what gives you the right to say that the rest
of the planet's dragons are all diluted?"
With that he set off, sprinting for a bit before taking off into
the air.
