Issuing A Challenge

After seeing the international broadcast on GUN's Radar Shadow
had decided the menace known as Sonic must be stopped.
"I'm going to grant the Doctor's wishes by destroying that blue
disgrace of a hedgehog."
Shadow stood atop a building looking down over the city. He
crossed his arms and addressed the ants below.
"Sonic! I'm issuing a challenge of single combat. Face me
coward! I will stomp you into dust for your crimes against these
people. You are pathetic and weak. FACE ME!"

Sonic skidded to a stop seeing the black animal atop the
towering buildings. He snickered stifling a laugh before he bust
out in uncontrollable laughter. "Hahahahhhaa What the hell are
you meant to be? Dude your Sonic costume is all wrong I'm blue.
I heard you're calling me out. Listen poser do you even know who
are dealing with? Names Sonic. As in the speed of sound."

"Fool your arrogance will be your undoing." Shadow wasn't having
any of Sonic's immature jokes ruin the seriousness of the
situation. He jumped down from the rooftop landing with a thud
maintaining his glare. Shadow stands approaching his rocket
shoes fire up as he thrusts towards Sonic delivering a punch.

Among the 'ants' below, Mallow was moving at a brisk pace to the
local dance studio to begin his daily practice on his latest
performance gig. Hot tea from the paper cup in his hand, warmed
his throat as he drank, barely burning the sensitive interior of
his mouth. He paused on his route to the studio when a shout
from the roof tops made him stop and look up at the black
figure. A hedgehog? Mallow glanced down the street as Mobius'
hero Sonic shot back a witty retort to this new arrival.
“What on Mobius is going on?” The albino rabbit wondered as he
moved off the street, throwing his chai away, before jumping up
to the roof of a five story, and peered over the edge to get a
better view of the black hedgehog.
Oh, wow.
Being a firm believer in keeping one's body fit and ready,
Mallow had to admire the other mobian's physique. He didn't know
the hedgehog's name, but he could even recognize a superior
specimen of an athletic body when he saw one. He could almost
feel the power of those muscles radiating all the way to where
he stood. The rabbit could have sworn he felt his heart skip a
beat for this stranger. He wasn't able to place the sensation at
that moment, it was unexpected and unfamiliar to him.

As Shadow fired forward Sonic used his superior speed stepping
back avoiding the thruster punch. Sonic's smile got bigger as he
landed backwards seeming excited."Heh you're pretty quick, but
your not fast." Sonic blasted off destroying the sound barrier
to demonstrate how much he out classed everybody when it came to
movement. Sonic then appeared leaning on Shadow's shoulder with
one leg crossed over the over in a relaxed stance. His kool
raspy voice called out. "You know what your problem is dude?
You're too serious. What crawled up your butt and died?" Sonic
taunted clearly trying to wind the angered hedgehog up.

Sonic's tactics were clearly getting to Shadow as he shouted out
in anger turning in an attempt to plant his foot in Sonic's
stomach. "You insufferable moron!" He screamed very aggressively
perusing his opponent. Shadow's aura of red chaos energy begun
to radiate the longer he begun to fight.

Sonic zipped behind Shadow and his powerhouse of a kick would
shatter the window where Sonic once was. Sonic yawned and
cracked his finger seeming a mix of bored and unimpressed. "Wow
you can break windows. Real bright there huh Skippy?" Sonic
pointed a finger and then scratched his busted up ear. "Look I'd
love to stay and play but to be honest you're hardly a warm up.
I'm wasting my time here." Sonic blasted off at high speeds
heading for the city's exit.

"NOT SO FAST!" Shadow declared pulling his leg from the
shattered glass. He fired up his rocket shoes and blasted off in
hot pursuit of Sonic. It wasn't long before Shadow reached just
under Mach 1 skating alongside the blue speedster. He held onto
his arm and rammed into Sonic as he headed towards the exit of
the city in order to slow him down.

Shadow sent Sonic hurtling forward an caused him to loose his
footing. Sonic tripped up and bit the dust but immediately
curled into a ball revved up and shot off before again catching
up with Shadow. Sonic uncurled and hit the ground running.
Sonic's smiled running neck and neck with Shadow ready to kick
it up a notch.
"Not bad dude. You almost made me break a sweat. You're about to
eat my dust. See ya slow-mo."
Sonic said in with a playful tone flipping the black hedgehog
the middle finger. Sonic sped ahead of Shadow shooting off over
the horizon. He was soon out of sight and came up running from
behind Shadow before passing him again and running off into the
horizon. Sonic passed Shadow and came running up from behind him
only to shoot off ahead into the sunset a total of eight times.
Every time Sonic passed his opponent he had circled the globe
once making a lap around the planet. He slowed down to meet with
Shadow and called out to him.
"See that rookie? It's called speed of light. Can't fight what
you can't catch and I've got a date with a chilidog. Later
loser!"
He belted out shooting off at light speed again surpassing
Shadow circling the globe once more and leaving the red and
black creature in the dust.

The Ultimate Lifeform watched Sonic zip past him again and again
only to be dumbfounded as to where this blue hedgehog as getting
this much speed. After Sonic shot off into the distance Shadow
powered down his shoes and came to a stop at the city limits.
"COWARD!"
He screams annoyed at the way Sonic operates. He crossed his
arms with a stoic expression as he thought to himself.
"How did that hedgehog surpass my speed? This is impossible! I
was built as the ultimate lifeform in all aspects. It is
possible I am not perfect as my creator has told me? Whatever
the case it's clear Sonic won't stand still for a fight. Just as
I thought he has no honor. Fleeing from my challenge is a mark
of his cowardice. Neither the less his skills are admirable as
they far exceed the limits on my hover skates. I cannot rest
while he's out there a menace to Mobius. Perhaps the Doctor will
have something to slow him down long enough for me to subdue
him. Once he's standing still overpowering him will be an easy."
With his inner thoughts buzzing about his head he walks back
into the city to track down the rabbit he sensed earlier.
"Reveal yourself. I saw you watching us. Sate who you are now."
He growled stomping forth ready to fight if he needed.
