The message had been sent. The board was in play, the pieces
moving, and preparations had started. In the northern reaches
far past knothole, a single mobian sat, his species and identity
hidden behind the shine of an armored helmet, awaited his
designated contact. "10 seconds 'til specified contact. Woman
better live up to her reputation." It was a mercenary meeting of
sorts, and he glanced over to the beacon beside him, humming as
it emitted its message on a guarded frequency. But the job that
needed to be done wasn't something they were going to hand of to
any hired hand, no; they needed to be good. Years had gone by as
they waited for the right time to start these operations, and
they were not going to let it go to chance. They wanted the
best.

Right on the dot, not a second later or a second early, a tall
slender figure dra'ped in black walked out front between the
trees in front of this mysterious Mobian. Karahl said nothing,
for the moment, instead she placed a fist into an open palm and
gave a slight bow.

Right on time. "You must be Karahl. Payed assassin and death for
hire. Correct?" Very gently he leaned over and flipped a switch
on the beacon, ending its transmission as he stood. The black of
his armor matched Karahl's, and in the shade of the forested
mountains, one might think they were only shadows. "The Mistress
needs some work done, and you come highly recommended." It was
obvious from just the mere standard of his equipment that this
was no task to be taken lightly; this group was military grade.

Karahl took a moment to look over what he was wearing before
replying, "Indeed, it's good to know that my reputation preceeds
me. Did your Mistress have a particular preferred method in how
the target should be dealt with?" she replied in a respectfully
cold tone; even a twinge of a reverb in her voice from the mask
she was wearing.

"We're not looking for a killing. We're looking for a
retrieval." Quickly he slipped a chip out from his glove,
pressing a button that displayed a hologram in front of them. A
familiar face appeared; Ajax. "This individual needs to be
captured and brought to the designated point. Our sources tell
us you two have met before..." The way in which he spoke was
cold and simple, straight to the point. He knew that Karahl was
typically paid to assassinate, but this would be
counterproductive for them; at least, in this instance. "The
target is believed to reside in a forest home north of Knothole
Lake. We need you to bring him to us. Alive." Quickly he shut
off the hologram. "It is also believed that a feline girl
resides with him; although we would prefer to leave no evidence
of foul play, you may handle her as you wish if she stands in
your way. Any questions?"

The tiger nodded as she was briefed, she was secretly a little
disappointed she wasn't under contract for murder but a job was
a job.
"First question, how much are we talking?" she started, "Next, I
understand that you want him alive but is there a particular
condition you need him to be in? Prestine or am I able to rough
him up a bit? Last, is there anything major about the target
that I should know about before I... persuade him?"

"The Mistress is putting ten thousand on his head; he has to be
alive, but you may disable him in any way you see as completely
necessary. We will be able to fix him as necessary for our use."
The messenger retrieved a rolled up set of documents and handed
them to Karahl; coordinates, radio frequencies, known visited
locations, etc. "The target is known to be stubborn, so
persuasion attempts are likely to fail. However, he is
particularly fond of the aforementioned feline girl. Capturing
or killing her may break his spirit, but it is not recommended
as he is in possession of a classified 'trait'; his anger can
produce an adrenaline fueled fury, and he may be harder to
detain. It must also be noted that he is ex-military, and is in
possession of firearms." Next, a map was unfolded, a map of
Mobotropolis. "The target may be found at his home, but he has
become a regular customer at a pub in the city Mobotropolis,
marked here. Do well, and the Mistress may request your services
again, with increased pay."

"Understood." she then took the documents, read through then
quickly before stowing them away in a safe spot in one of her
many hidden pockets.
She then raised a curious brow, "Am I right to assume that your
'use' for the target is classified information?"

"A need to know basis," the messenger stated bluntly. "Should
the Mistress see it fit, you will be informed."

"I suspected as much, but consider it done. We'll both be there
at the designated location and time accordingly." The tiger
concluded, and in a blink of an eye she was gone; pulling off
some sort of illusion trick to gove the impression that she had
just suddenly vanished into thin air.
