The royal forces had marched Sonic away from the city to the
edge of the Great Forest. They unchained his legs and pushed him
into the woods. At the commender gesture they raised their laser
rifles aiming at the blue hedgehog. The Commander shook his head
with a smug glare and spoke. "Enjoy living in the woods traitor.
If it were up to me you'd be rotting in Prison Zone. I always
knew you were a criminal and a freak."
Sonic shouted as they shoved him away entering a well deserved
rage. "WATCH IT YOU JERKS! If it wasn't for me your precious
city would be robot central." Sonic got up in the Commanders
face poking his index finger into his chest. "I'm the one doing
the real work while you're sitting on your a,ss eating donuts
you lazy pig."
The Commander pushed the hedgehog's hand away snapping his
fingers. The guards fired a warning shot at Sonic's sneakers.
"You're just lucky that Sally wanted you alive. Good luck
finding a diner with chilidogs in the woods."
With that the guards left heading back to the city. Sonic stood
at the edge of the forest his usually perky ears drooping down
along with a frown on his face. Sonic looked beyond upset as
home now seemed so far away. He sat at the edge of the woods
looking over at the city with a sad sigh. "My friends...my
family."

"-Are still here and are fighting to get you back home, Sonic,
you belong in Mobotropolis and everyone can see that. The other
guys back there? They've all headed out to work on proving the
princess wrong, working on unframing you" Pipped up a soft voice
from behind him.
Sapphire sat amoungst a group of trees and bushes, she had been
letting a rabbit but she watched it hop off after speaking with
Sonic. She was speaking a lot more now then their first
encounter.
Her eyes went to Sonic's. "I know you didn't do those things,
don't worry" She said as she got to her feet and dusted herself
off, ran over to Sonic and threw her arms around him in a hug.
"I know you're a hero, Mobius' greatest, and the princess is
wrong". Taking a step back, she took off the medal that Sally
had awarded her moments ago, leaning up she tried to award it to
Sonic instead, slipping it around his neck "Here, you sure as
anything deserve this more than I do" She then help up a finger,
disappeared in a streak of colour and returned seconds later,
holding up a steaming chilidog for him.

Not too long after Sapphire started speaking Sonic picked up the
bunny and started patting it. The tiny animal didn't seem to
mind as Sonic had a way with nature. Looking over he shook his
head replied. "That's sweet of you to say. Good to know some
people still believe in me." Upon receiving a hug and a medal
Sonic felt a combination of freaky and comforting. He found it
disturbing being hugged by a complete stranger but at the same
time something felt familiar. He slipped the medal around
Sapphire's neck shaking his head. "You earned this besides I
have a draw full of them." As soon as she showed up with his
favorite food he dropped the rabbit snatching the hotdog. The
Rabbit looked up annoyed and gave a distressed squeak as it hit
the ground. The little bunny tried to hurt Sonic by thumping on
his foot but the bunny's small size gave it little impact.
Barely noticing the rabbit Sonic patted his stomach having eaten
the thing quicker than humanly possible. "Ahhh now that hit the
spot. Thanks. So what are you doing here? Aren't you a bit young
to be out this late? You've probably got a mother worried sick
about you."

After Sonic dropped the bunny, Sapphire picked it up again and
after giving it a few comforting oats she wiggled her nose at it
and moved her ears this way and that then put the fuzz ball back
down on he ground again to let it hop off to its family. Or
maybe she asked it to go do something?
Sapphire looked down at the medal as it was around her neck once
more, it felt better having Sonic put it around her neck then
what it felt to have Sally put it there, even if he wasn't
awarding it to Sapphire by simply returning it.
"No problem at all, I don't think you're going to get chilidogs
any other way while you're stuck out here so" She bopped her
head from side to side before wandering back over to the tree's,
putting a fingerless gloves hand against the large tree's trunk.
The younger hedgehog seemed a little distracted, distant, like
her kind was half here but half somewhere else entirely.
"I've been up later, much much later" She faved a pained look
when he mentioned the mother part though, thankfully she wasn't
facing him fully so he couldn't see her when it happened or at
least she thought. Sapphire gave her head a slight shake, she
didn't know what to really say back on it, "Is that your way of
letting me know you don't want me around? You're-" She paused
for a moment, looking back at the other blue hedgehog "Not..
My... Not my Dad.. Yeah, whys it matter to you that I'm up late
Mister Sonic?" She asked before sticking out her lower lip
slightly like a little pout, an eyebrow raised while the other
stayed low.

Sonic placed a hand behind his head and scratched his spines
confused. "I have no idea but I've got this weird compulsion to
tell you what to do because I think I know whats best....Dude
where did that come from? Look either way you are a mystery and
I've got a mystery to solve. Double mystery isn't exactly
helping. You got a name?"

Oh no. Even in an earlier timeline to her one Sonic still by
impulse seems to just have those 'fatherly instincts' about him
with her there. Could she ever shake this? He doesn't even know!
Bizzare how parent and offspring bonds work huh? Not even time
can spilt the two apart entirely.
Sapphire gave somewhat of a laugh at what he said, trying not to
sound a little panicked at that he already had compulsions to
tell her what's for the best.
"I came from my mother, dude" She said back, saying 'dude'
similar to what Sonic had done before sticking her tongue out
playfully.
Putting her tongue back into her mouth she gave a nod "Sapphire,
Sapphire the Hedgehog, and you are?" She smiled and gave a small
laugh, "Just kidding, who doesn't know who you are? Haha!"

"Hedgehog? You a distant cousin or something? That happens to be
my family name as well. I mean the speed the colors this is just
too weird are we related? You that quiet girl at all the family
gatherings? Uncle Chuck always said you were weird."

Sapphire's ears perked up in a bit of shock at what Sonic said
at the start, but as he continued on she had half the urge to
kick him between the legs, but that might effect her as well and
she was t really fond of the idea of hurting someone, especially
someone who was hurting already and more so that it was Sonic.
She took in a breath and the huffed it out, frowning at him,
"Are you calling me weird?" She huffed, staring up at him with a
little pout, her hands going to her hips. "I may be blue like
you are but do any of your relatives share you speed, speedo?
That's a 'no' isn't it?" She raised an eyebrow, now how would
she know that? "Take another guess,it's very amusing, maybe this
one won't be as offensive" She huffed, crossing her arms and
putting her nose up a little bit, now who was that like when she
too was huffy?

At that instant the left leg of Sapphire's jumpsuit snapped back
against her skin. Sonic zipped around to the front of her with a
smug smile. "Yup that settles it you've got the Hedgehog family
birthmark in the same place as all of us. I knew it was you all
along." Sonic placed an arm around Sapphire's shoulder pulling
her close and giving her a noogie. "I knew you were the quiet
one at the family gatherings. You were the one who liked video
games and I think you were an artist of some sort. You'd always
draw Tails pictures....what did he call you?....COUSIN MIA!"
Sonic exclaimed excited hugging his family so tightly to the
point he was nearly suffocating her. Sonic set her down after
the almost crushing brotherly hug. "Changed your name to
Sapphire huh? I don't blame you between you and me my real name
isn't Sonic either. So what you doing so far from home cus?" He
asked excited to see a member of his extended family.

Sapphire let out a small squeak of a noise when the left side of
her jumpsuit that covered a little of her leg and what followed
was snapped back to reveal what was underneath, she went a bit
red in the face and boy was he lucky he was her dad, well, kinda
but. You get the point. Sapphire pushed her jumpsuit back to
covering her up properly and breathed out through her nose, her
face going redder as Sonic placed an arm around her shoulder to
pull her into a noogie. She was both happy that she was actually
getting to spend time with her dad or a form of him anyway, but
also hot headed at what Sonic had just done, hat and he was
insisting on that she was this other family relative that was
always very quiet at family meetings.
Her feet tangled about in the air as Sonic hugged her tightly,
making her gag slightly and kick her feet, closing her eyes as
she was hugged half to death. When he let her go she first took
in deep breathes and then kicking her right foot against the
ground, "No! I'm just Sapphire! Sapphire Emerald Hedgehog! I'm
not your cousin, I've never been called Mia, I'm really your-"
She knew how volcanoes felt right at this moment. She too felt
like she was going to explode. She couldn't say the truth, he
wouldn't believe her anyway but how way she to shake his
assumptions now?
"Okay, Maurice" She said as she put her hands together, "If I'm
your cousin, how come I can do this?" She asked as she snapped
her fingers, her large piko hammer appearing, "Also, Quiet one
at family meetings? Do I seem like the quiet type to you, Blue?"
