Ultimate Power

Sonic was in the outskirts of the woods his body outstretched
laying across the grass. The sky was dark as the hedgehog
wrapped his fingers around a green diamond shaped gem. Six other
identical gems were scattered around the grass nearby. He
brought the green gem before his emerald eyes looking over it
with contempt. He finally sat up as he became lost in thought.
"The Chaos Emeralds.....These things will definitely be able to
give me enough juice to thrash Robotnik. It took me a while to
track them all down, after I left the city but I did it. The
city doesn't need me this time, it needs Super Sonic. I just
don't know if I can go through that again. Having that much
power is not worth the sacrifice. Being filled with that much
negative energy, It's corrupting consuming. I cannot fathom
being stuck like that. I was lucky I was able to come back after
the first time I used them to take down Chaos."
Sonic breaths in calming down as he looks over the planes to the
rest of the power stones. "They demand far too much seriousness
from the user. All that power at the cost of ones
individuality.......I can't do it again. I've sacrificed enough
for this city I'm not going to give up who I am. Not for some
shiny stones not for anybody." With that he flipped to his feet
and zipped around collecting the emeralds. He had a sly smile
upon his face as he tossed the green one into the air before
catching it. He then turned to the lake behind and dropped six
of the seven emeralds in. Taking one last glance at the green
one he smiled and turned his back to the lake. As he started to
walk off he tossed the green emerald into the air over his
shoulder. With a light plop the last of the seven chaos emeralds
sinks to the bottom of the lake. Sonic smiled placing his hands
behind his head as he kicked the dirt from his sneakers. "I'll
fix this the way I always do. With my own power. I'll rely on my
own to legs to carry me to victory. Who needs some magical
trinket to carry them to the finish line? Heh It's about time we
get this marathon started. Robotnik is going to be sorry he
messed with my home."

Plasma was sitting in one of the trees just along the outskirts
of the woods. He looked at the damage Dr.Robotnik had caused. He
sucked his teeth at the fires that were burning. That's just
cruel.....but..he's bad. And the bad guys must fall. With this
he jumped down from the tree and walked around.I should train
first...before I go back.

The sound of two pairs of boots walking on the soft green grass
of the woods grew louder with every step the hedgehogs that the
boots belonged to, took.
Soon enough they where in view, one a lady pink hedgehog and the
second a small teenaged blue hedgehog, they where holding hands
and the smaller one of the two seemed to be pulling the pink
hedgehog along a fair bit, but the older hedgehog was moving
too.
Seeing Sonic come into view made Sapphire smile, and run a bit
faster, making Amy have to pick up her own pace as well, the
pink hedgehog looked both beyond confused and distraught at what
had come of their wonderful city and home, but being in the
woods made her feel just that little bit more relaxed.
When Amy saw Sonic she glanced to him for a moment and then
looked away, putting a hand on the golden neck band with the
blue gem he had given her, looking as if she was putting
together something in her mind.
Seeing Sonic up and with a confident Sapphire made Sapphire
bounce around after she and Any had reached him and she had let
go of Amy's hand. She grabbed one of Sonic's arms as she bounced
and laughed, "That smile says a lot, you're going to kick his
butt aren't you? You're going to show him who's boss right?" She
asked, letting go of his arm and running in circles around Sonic
to the point she was a blur, "Yeah! This is Sonic's town! And
you can't have it buttnik! Watch out for Big Bad Blue!" She
shouted, as she skidded to a stop and punched the air
enthusiastically, confident in her Dad's abilities.
She then paused in her actions as she heard a sound in her ears,
which flicked, a light, warm hum, she turned towards the lake,
and the hum became a cheerful ring, like a Christmas bell, full
of joy and glee. Sapphire walked over to the lake's edge, her
eyes fixated on it's watery surface, the ringing getting louder
for her the closer she got to the lake "I can hear you" She said
seemingly to the lake, as she, despite her fear of water,
stepping into the lake, her boots making a soft sploshing sound.
The hedgehog reached out, clearly drawn to something under the
lake's surface. A faint colourful glow began to show through the
water and grew brighter the closer she got, "[glow=gold,2,300]I
can feel you[/glow]" She said, looking at her hands as the
bracelets around each of her wrists began to glow, the coloured
stripes and bracelets on both her boots and jumpsuit also
lighting up in colour, her hair blowing like a strong breeze had
picked up around her. She turned around to look at Sonic, her
eyes wide and curious, as she felt something new flow throughout
her body, she didn't know what it was, but it felt strong.
"[color=royalblue][glow=gold,2,300]Dad?[/glow]" She said,
sounding slightly frightened, she didn't know what was happening
with her.
Everthing suddenly went all white for Sapphire, as her eyes
flashed a bright gold before turning a glowing red, her blue fur
standing on end as well as hair. She felt she needed to get
closer to the source of this power. She turned away from her
present time parents and taking a moment to briefly pause and
take in a slow breath before she full on walked into the lake,
her head going fully under the watery surface, taking her out of
sight, a few bubbles rising to the lakes surface a few seconds
later.

Sonic seemed happy at the appearance of the girls. He smiled
wide and gave a thumbs up to his future daughters enthusiasm.
Sonic really felt like she was a second sibling. In truth he
always thought of her like a little sister more than a daughter.
He looked back to Amy reassuring her everything was okay by
gesturing the rocker symbol with his fingers. The content look
on Amy's face as she figured things out made him slightly
nervous as he blushed holding his hand behind his head. He
watched as Sapphire headed towards the and asked her. "Thirsty
huh? I can get behind that. The water here is just about as
fresh as you can get." As she headed deeper he opened one eye
wide in confusion. As her head went under the water he looked
panicked as he shouted. "Sapphire don't be stupid you'll sink!"
He rushed after her stopping at the waters edge. Looking back to
Amy alarmed the pointed towards the lake. "Amy you've got to
help her!"

Amy was snapped out of her 'figuring out things' thoughts by
Sonic, who seemed rather panicked as he pointed to the lake and
ushered for her to go in after Sapphire, she blinked for a
moment before shaking her head, realising what it was exactly
that had happened and the seriousness of the situation. Daughter
of Sonic and she couldn't swim, of course.
"On it!" She said as she sprang over to the lake's edge pausing
for a moment, looking from her clothes to where Sonic had
pointed to, giving her head a firm shake before she took in a
deep breath and dove into the water after the little hedgehog
that had disappeared in it.
Seconds later however, Amy was blasted back out of the water by
a white light, hitting the ground beside Sonic, she coughed as
the blast had knocked the air out of her while she was under the
water.
Dripping wet she looked up at Sonic and her ears flattened, her
eyes wide, "I couldn't get to her! I couldn't see anything with
that light!" She said in a panic as she scrambled to her feet,
getting her boots back into the water again, but she didn't need
to go in any further to get Sapphire, in fact she could see her
quite clearly now.

Sapphire was floating just above the water's surface, her fur a
gentle gold that glowed softly, her eyes a burning red, her hair
flowing about behind her like the wind was a stronger gust about
her.
Her outfit had changed significantly, in fact she barley had an
outfit, not that for mobians it really mattered or showed
anything. Her boots and jumpsuit, gloves too where all gone, her
wrist bracelets remained, and she had gained two more bracelets
around her ankles, as well as a belt that went around her waist,
her neck bracelet remained and she'd gained some sort of hair
clip.
All seven things, bangles, belt and clip glowed and where
coloured the same colours as that of the seven chaos emeralds.
She looked to Sonic and blinked for a moment before she smiled
warmly and seemed to hover back over to Amy and Sonic, looking
down at her feet as she did so, expecting herself to just
suddenly drop back into the lake. Despite just being in the lake
she wasn't wet in the slightest, in fact she had a warm feeling
radiating off of her.
When she reached the shore back to Sonic and Amy she placed her
feet back on the ground and they glowed against the green grass.
She clenched a hand into a fist and looked up at Sonic,
"[glow=royalblue,2,300]I saw seven of these different coloured
gems at the bottom of the lake[/glow]" She said, even her voice
sounded slightly different, radiant even.
"[glow=royalblue,2,300]They called to me, it was weird, this
feels weird[/glow]" She closed her eyes for a moment before a
grin filled her face and she opened her eyes again,
"[glow=royalblue,2,300]but it also feels GREAT[/glow]" She said
loudly as she clenched both hands into fists and stuck out her
waist forwards slightly, her eyes giving off a flash of light.
Her golden fur bristled and her grin returned to that of a smile
as she looked at her parents again, pulling them both into a hug
which made her so happy she began to hover again.
"[glow=royalblue,2,300]I love you guys[/glow]" She said
suddenly, before letting them go and looking all about at the
trees and nature still currently standing while Robotnik
terrorised the city.

Sonic was half expecting Sapphire to drown when she ascended
from the depths covered in a golden glow he was shocked. "I love
you to....." He uttered watching her. As she backed off Sonic
stepped backwards at a loss for words. "Wait....did you just say
I love you? You can feel emotion? You're not being over run with
negative energy?" Sonic zipped around Sapphire taking in her
golden fur. "Love the new look kid. Well would you look at that.
Guess those stupid gems are good for something after all." Sonic
placed his hand on Sapphire's shoulder looking over the horizon
with her. "I know that look in your eyes Sapphire. I know it all
too well. Everything's gone kiddo. Ol Robuttnik has destroyed
everything.....Our homes our families...and he killed Tails. I
want you to take this power Sapphire. I want you to take it and
get back our home. Make that monster sorry for what he's done."
Sonic said closing his eyes as anger ran deep within his veins.
"When you came back to the past you once told me you weren't
sure why you came. This is it."

He now golden Sapphire nodded in response to Sonic's first
questions, "[glow=royalblue,2,300]If anything my emotions,
thoughts, feelings, they all feel more clearer, more positive
too at that[/glow]" She smiled, as she watched him zip around
her scanning her golden coat of fur, she gave a laugh,
"[glow=royalblue,2,300]Thanks Dad[/glow]" She said, tilting her
head slightly to the right as he placed a hand on her shoulder,
looking over at their broken city on the horizon.
She closed her eyes as Sonic spoke for a few moments, everything
was gone, Robotnik had destroyed so much, too much, far too
much. He'd torn families apart and destroyed the one place they
all called home. He even took Sonic's little brother from him
and she knew it only got worse and worse from the doctor, she
was from the future after all, she'd watched it happen.
Sapphire looked up at to Sonic, her glowing red eyes fixing on
his emerald green ones, "[glow=royalblue,2,300]Don't let that
anger fill all your thoughts Dad, okay?[/glow]" She said,
looking worried as she hugged Sonic again before stepping back,
"[glow=royalblue,2,300]He'll get what he deserves[/glow]" She
nodded with a smile.
Sapphire took in a breath at what Sonic said next, wanting her
to take this new power and use it to make Robotnik pay for all
his dreadful deeds. His last sentence was quite the hit too.
She ran a hand through her now golden hair, looking at the
distant smouldering city that she too had once called home,
memories of her time filled her mind. Robotnik even in her time
was always a huge problem, and he'd started off a lot stronger,
bigger and more threatening then that of the other problems in
her timeline, THIS must've been why. This event that happened
originally without her here, Sonic and the others could take
Robotnik out, she had no doubt in that, but the repairs to the
city, how much longer it would've taken them to do so, the chaos
emeralds had a different effect on Sonic, explaining why he
ditched them to the lake. Now it was different, traveling back
in time had changed things, she had the chance to really change
things too now. And now was the time to do it, Sonic couldn't be
more right.
The golden hedgehog closed her eyes and gave a nod, turning to
take one of Sonic's hands and one of Amy's and taking them
together in both of her hands, looking to the two with a warm
smile, "[glow=royalblue,2,300]Just one promise? It'll make sense
in time but. Stay home. Stay with your family and kid if you
ever have one[/glow]" She gave a wink to Sonic since she'd
straight up told him who she was, "[glow=royalblue,2,300]Because
you never know, she might just go back a few years so that she
can actually see you and spend time with you. You wouldn't want
to miss a moment that you could spend with someone close,
right?[/glow]" She let go of their hands and took a step back,
kicking a foot against the ground to make herself float again,
which made an excited smile fill her face,
"[glow=royalblue,2,300]That doesn't mean don't have fun and
adventures, just don't forget to bring her along with
you![/glow]".
She turned to face the city, revving her feet combing her usual
power with that of the chaos emeralds powers feeling their
abilities combined flow through her body,
"[glow=royalblue,2,300]It's time to pay the doctor a
visit[/glow]" She said with a confident smile, feeling a burst
of speed building up in her legs, was this what it felt like for
Sonic? It was incredible! "[glow=royalblue,2,300]Mum, Dad, See
you at the party[/glow]" She said, glancing back to give them a
smile and a salute-like wave before she shot off with a golden
glowing streak of light in her trail. Next stop? The doctors
office.

Sonic's eye twitched a little as he took a deep breath. He
looked to Amy walking back and forth impatiently. Before long he
had an outburst. "I can't take it anymore! I know she's family
and I should be happy, but if you think I'm going to sit here
and let her beat me well your crazy." Sonic without even time to
start shot off across the open field. "She may be more powerful
than I am but there's no way I'm loosing my title. The day I let
my kids replace me is the day I give up my running shoes." With
that the blue streak met up with the gold one. Moving as fast as
they both were Sapphire could clearly see him. He begins running
backwards and pulls the skin down under his eye while poking his
tongue out. It was clear he was behind playful at first but when
he begun running backwards he was just showing off. Soon Sonic
begun to focus as he started to accelerate trying to over take
Sapphire while running backwards. With a massive reverse sonic
boom the blue streak passed the gold one reaching the out skirts
of the city. Sonic skidded to a stop beating Sapphire by mere
minuets as he arrived before her. As she rolled up Sonic began
his egoistical gloating. "Whose your Daddy?" He asked cupping
his wounded ear waiting for her to answer.

Amy gave a sigh and shook her head at Sonic, "She's only taking
after you, silly, your egotistical side might rub off onto her
if you're not careful" Amy said, sticking her tongue out at him
as he shot off, she gave a slight huff throwing her hands up for
a moment before returning them to her sides and beginning her
way back to the city by walking "Thanks Speed Sweeties, I'll get
there sometime today hopefully".
Sapphire looked to Sonic as he appeared beside her, she laughed,
"[glow=royalblue,2,300]I was waiting for you Blue[/glow]" She
said, "[glow=royalblue,2,300]I knew you'd come straight after,
staying back's not your thing, I'd be a bit concerned if you did
stay back there actually[/glow]" She admitted, putting a finger
to her chin for a moment as she watched him tease her with a
stuck out tongue, she stuck her's out back at him, holding her
arms out and smiling, feeling the wind against her face as Sonic
ran backwards and then ahead of her, she didn't mind, she
watched her Dad show true to his title, taking her time to fly
by in the fields that lead to the city, enjoying being free in
general.
She too came to a stop after Sonic had, stopping beside him, she
shook her head, rolling her eyes a bit at his question. She
turned and gave him a playful punch on the arm which probably
would've packed a bit more punch to it then what it normally
would, "[glow=royalblue,2,300]You are you idiot[/glow]" She
said, sticking her tongue out and up at him before laughing,
"[glow=royalblue,2,300]Have fun with baby me by the way when
that comes, your nose and ears where fun to pull and chew on
'Daddy'[/glow]".
