Part IV: Run! Run! Run! (Sonic, Sapphire and Mistlocks only)

Topaz and her sister entered a cold and rather boring-looking
room. The walls, and everything in the room, were made entirely
made out of a strange and foreign metal. At the centre of this
small room was a large metal ball, measuring at about seven feet
in diameter and it was contained in a shallow, cylindrical hole
in the floor. The top of the ball was level with the floor of
the room with a bullet-proof and sturdy glass surrounding the
ball.
"Are you done yet? What else is left before we put him to work?"
Topaz remarked for the umpteenth time and a roll of her eyes.
Her hands were clasped onto a clipboard and her fingers fidgeted
anxiously. She had been dying to get started, but of course she
had to fulfill her promise to her sister before proceeding with
Le Gerant's plan.

Ember waved her hand towards Topaz at the door while she tucked
and straightened up fabric. She made several adjustments as she
pulled a pin from black material and placed it into the heart
shaped pincushion secured around her arm. Once done a gleeful
girlish shriek came from the room followed by the sound of high
heels clacking against the floor as she jumped up and down in
approval of her newest design. Soon she walked into the main
room dragging Sonic from the wardrobe behind her. Sonic was
adorned in a slim fit black suit of satin tailored exactly to
his figure. The suit was stylish and complemented by a white
collared shirt ending in a bright silk pink tie with an elegant
capital E embroidered onto it. Ember clasped her hands together
and bopped with excitement. "Doesn't he look darling? So
suave....so Sonic." She placed her fingers against her lips and
whispers to her sister. "I made it a little extra tight so we
can.....Admire his form as we watch him work." She stated
pointing to her backside.

"It is very nice sis." she recited with a smile, growing more
impatient she help Ember move Sonic onto the ball before closing
off the cylinder with him inside it.
"I hope that suit can handle friction well. He won't catch fire
will he?"

Sonic open his eyes placing his hand on his aching head.
"Ugh....man what hit me?" He groaned feeling groggy.

"Nope you know my designs, pretty and practical." She said then
placing her finger to her lips giving a hush. "Shh He's waking
up." She said then placing her finger in her mouth biting it
lightly as she admires the tightly woven work.

Topaz tapped her clipboard a few times then waved someone off in
the other side of the room.
"I also have an extra surprise for you Ember..." she added just
before a pair of their fellow crew walked in pushing a small
table draped in a silk cloth, a bottle of wine, topped with fine
dining and exotic food and a lit candle. They were then pushed
in front of the hedgehog for Ember to sit at.
She then walked over to Sonic's side, "How are you doing Sonic?"

Ember's smile only grew bigger as she licked her lips. She
passed her sister giving a light hug at the kind gesture. Before
long she reached the table and waited at the seat tapping her
foot. "I have to pull out my own chair? Sonic didn't your mother
ever teach you how to treat a lady?" Giving an annoyed huff she
pulled the chair out and fell into it crossing one leg over the
other. She took the silk draping off the side and placed it over
her legs remaining modest. She ran her finger around the rim of
the whine glass before pouring the sanguine liquid into the
crystal glass. She took a sip holding the glass by the neck
pinkie out of course. She gently places it down lacing her
fingers together placing them under her chin resting her head on
her hands as her shoulders sit on the table. "Show time Sonic.
Best not disappoint. I'd hate to think the hero of Mobius is a
let down." She said in a cheeky tone.

Sonic after coming to his senses looked down towards the suit he
was now in confused. "Whats with the fancy threads?" He asked
before looking that their was glass separating the two. Frowning
he started to punching and kick the barrier between him and them
as his limbs steak blue fast and furious striking the bullet
proof glass repeatedly. "Feeling like I'm going to have to teach
you girls what happens when you mess with the hedgehog."

Topaz gcast a disgruntled look before moving over to a control
desk and sat behind it. She pressed a green button and as a
result the ball beneath Sonic's feel began to move at a normal
walking pace, "Oh come on Sonic, don't be rude to my sister!"
she exclaimed before leaning forward with a wiry smirk, "Oh?
Teach me a lesson? Dear Sonic, please do~ Hit. Me. Harder." she
laughed lustfully before leaning back and turning on a monitor
revealing Mobius.
"See, Blue, we're going to need your help. Our generator broke
down and we need something to temporarily take its place while
it goes under repairs. See that gold mist covering your planet?
That won't be able to hold itself up for much longer without
said generator, so we're going to need you to play hamster for a
while. May I remind you how important that golden mist is? It is
the very thing keeping your planet alive and everyone expose to
said mist prevents them from losing their lives entirely. The
mist goes through five cycles, each one taking longer to produce
than the last and each newly made helping of said Mist
rejuvenates the planet and replenishes any serious injuries or
lost lives. Le Gérant would do this himself of course, seeing as
he made the mist to begin with but... he is currently busy. If
you do not comply, other than the obvious consequences..." she
explained before pushing another button. The wall next to him
was slowly pulled into the ground, revealing another containment
chamber identical to his... and with someone running inside it.
"You see, your dear friend Sapphire has been working very, very
hard in keeping Mobius alive. In fact, for these past few weeks
she has been keeping the mist freshly contained until it was put
into use. She hasn't had a chance to rest for more than a few
minutes at a time... poor soul. If you start running too, you
will also lessen the burden placed upon her."
Currently Sapphire seemed to be running about three-quarters of
her maximum speed, and from the looks of things, she has been
running for quite a while now. If they chose to speak to each
other they will be able to communicate without a problem.
"Oh and one more thing, Sonic," Topaz spoke up, adjusting some
knobs at the Control Table, "See that small LED screen in front
of you? Pretty soon it is going to display the require speed for
you to run - just as it has been for Sapphire - and if you run
under or over the limit - or somehow miraculously phase out of
that containment unit - the mist will become unstable, and
combust. There is also a likelihood of Sapphire's containment
unit detonating due to imbalances introduced since the release
of the mist."

Her head was thumping, her feet and legs ached, she had black
lines under her eyes from the lack of sleep, her eyelids drooped
constantly, multiple times they fully closed but she would give
her head a quick shake and they would be open again, she
couldn't stop running, the whole planet would be in big trouble
if she did.
But she was so tired... She'd been running for ages, with little
to no rest at all, it was becoming more and more difficult for
the young hedgehog to handle.
Her eyes where starting to close again when the containment
chamber she was in was revealed, she blinked slowly, then rubbed
her eyes, giving a yawn before looking over to the revealed
wall.
The first thing that caught her attention was the other
hedgehog, the other blue hedgehog, at first she thought she was
looking in a mirror, a very blurred mirror, wait... There where
two other figures, and the blue hedgehog wasn't moving, she was
definitely moving, the constant aching in her feet let her know
that, so it couldn't be a mirror, she rubbed her eyes again.
This time when she looked she could see things clearer.
"...D..Dad?..." She said tiredly, then she gave her head another
'wake up' shake, "Sonic!" She said, this time sounding a little
less tired and more, hopeful and cheery.
Though her tired state had made her completely forget the
'Sonic''Dad' thing, so she didn't correct herself on that, and
her weariness was quick to return.
"B..ust 'em up B..b..lue.." She said drowsily, talking to him as
if he was on a rescue mission or something, not seeming to
notice that Sonic was also in a containment chamber like she
was, "..I..I..Belive in you.. I know you can...you can.. You can
do it.." She mumbled, giving another big yawn, as her eyes
threatened again to close, but she continued to run at the speed
the screen was telling her to run at, she couldn't let the
others down, she couldn't let the planet down, she had to keep
running.
