Part III: Precious Gem

"I can't help but wonder-" Genevieve pondered aloud.
"-which gem they would value more?" Jerome continued, sounding
rather intrigued.
"You?"
"Or holding possession of the Pulse?"
"Is your name-"
"-equivalent to the value of your life?"
"We shall soon see!"
The couple were not pleased at all that a faction of this city
had taken possession of The Pulse and they were baffled as to
how they managed to get it off of Vesper. Right now however,
they were waiting, right out in the open where they had seen The
More-Able Mobians roamed frequently. It wouldn't be long before
they were noticed. Between the pair was a certain, young blue
Hedgehog whom was forced onto her knees. Around her neck, were
the fangs of Karahl; whose saber-like fangs extended over and
past her neck.
She had a fairly firm grip on the girl, but not enough to
puncture the skin and cause for her to bleed. It seemed that
ever since her last battle with Syruchi at the Government Base,
Genevieve and Jerome had the means to replace the missing lower
jaw with an artificial one. It wasn't robotic and the outer skin
had been reconstructed to make it look like it had never been
blown off of her. Interestingly though, in this hostage
situation, they had Karahl under complete control. Any sudden
moves and it would be all over before they would look for
another hostage to get what they want.
((Please note that Sapphire has given me full permissions for
this! Literally no holding back here! ))

(I know you said to wait but creativity has no curfew MAN!!!!
Besides I kinda couldn't wait.If need be I'll just post this
again after Sapphire's post so no worries.)
Sonic skipped to a stop as the vague image of what he thought he
saw made him feel sick in the pit of his stomach. As his eyes
once again looked over the scene this time very slowly he
approached walking ever closer. As his mind confirmed what his
eyes were still trying to deny. What he saw was the women he
loved with the soulless eyes of a machine no emotion or passion
about them. As if that wasn't scaring enough within her ivory
fangs she held the life of Sapphire a future family member he
had come to love over the passing months. Protective of both
what to do when one was harming the other? It was quite
literally Sonic's perfect weakness.He felt weak in the knees as
he knew that the one bad day that Scourge was always talking
about was upon him. Before long he fell to his knees distraught
his voice still cursed and this being no time for catchphrases
he kept his mouth shut. His eyes were shaking barely able to
focus due to the shock of the unfolding events. Looking to the
ground in disbelief he simply focused on his hands shaking his
head. "This isn't happening.....this Can't be happening....did I
take this risk...when I let Karahl into my life? I knew what she
was....I knew the monster that lay beneath the surface of that
cold and kool exterior. Now Sapphire's paying for my
mistake.....turns out love has blinded me worse than fame and
fortune ever could. NO THIS ISN'T HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE! Love
is meant to bring you happiness not pain and regret. Now each
wonderful day with each of them now feels like a thorn in my
soul. The memories of each of these girls will be nothing but
reminders.....like Tails....I can't loose anybody
else....I........"
Sonic punched the ground and returned to his thoughts tears
welling up. "My little blue seed was meant to grow up strong.
She's been waiting so long for the sun to shine..reaching for
the stars. My passion for Karahl has set aflame to the life of
my linage. A dark winter has come to take my happiness away. If
i loose either one of these two here and now my life is
over....." Sonic's body was shaking his eyes closed tears still
falling onto the pavement below. He tightened his fingers into
fists. "But still....[color=blue]there are people who are
counting on me. Others who are waiting for me to make everything
okay. So I can't stop here. I....I can't hurt her. So it seems
it's all up to chance." He placed his hand on his knee and stood
as he slowly begun walking closer hand held out shaking but
stern. "For our future I foresaw a field of green we were free
like the wind,blowing wherever we may. Just like trees seeds
gaze up and reach out their tiny fingers grasping at beams of
light. I understand you dwell in darkness but you cannot be the
cloud that blocks out her light. If you continue down this path
that cloud will produce rain and extinguish the feelings I have
for you. Who knows they may already be gone. I cannot harm or
hurt either of you. All I can do is stand here and hope you see
sense." Sonic now stood right infront of Karahl arm outstretched
his fingers beckoning hers. "Just take my hand....let's go
home." He begged her with glassy eyes and a quivering lip.

"..The..Pulse?" Sapphire said, wincing slightly by just having
those big fangs of Karahl's come into view again.
Seeing them around her own neck...
The blue hedgehog squeezed her eyes shut again, she felt just
that little bit better when she couldn't see the saber-like
fangs, and she wasn't going anywhere at the moment, because
clearly, she couldn't, so closing her eyes was the best option
she had at the moment.
It was weird, being in this position with a former ally and
friend, but what was also weird was that Karahl listened to the
synchronised mobian pair... She'd been turned this way by that
robot tigress, so how do they have control over her?
She opened one eye at the sound of someone approaching, then
both eyes where open once she saw who it was, "Sonic!"
Sapphire watched him get slowly closer to the two, no words came
out of his mouth, but his face said it all.
He'd fallen to his knees before he had even fully reached the
four, and seemed to be... Crying?!
Sapphire's ears flattened, seeing Sonic upset was one of the
worst things to witness. But soon he was up again, and coming
closer, Sapphire's ears went back up, her eyes looking hopeful
and right up at the blue blur, she watched as he reached out to
Karahl, she wanted to reach out to him, but couldn't really move
at the moment, "Sonic?"

Lori had followed Sonic here after hearing the voices of the
Mist-Locks from the archery contest from this area, and she was
currently in hiding while carefully watching; she was shocked to
see the female blue hedgehog from when she'd met the Pika from
when this entire mess began. She was in a collar made of teeth,
held by an unfamiliar ninja tiger that had forced the girl on
her knees, and the tiger had a firm grip on her. Sonic was
upset, it looked like, and he fell to his knees for a few
moments, then he carefully approached the tiger -not speaking,
as his voice was possibly still messed up- as if to tell the
tiger to let go of the other hedgehog.
The blue female hedgehog then said Sonic's name twice, first in
a worried way, then the second time was in a hopeful tone, as
she looked at Sonic, still on her knees within the grip of the
tiger.
The amber hedgehog remained hiding where she was -even though it
was on a roof not too far from the area, and kneeling- as she
gained a look of dismay within her indigo-purple eyes.
So they took her hostage... And yet they are doing it for the
gem... They should know that we'll never give that thing up! But
how in the name of Chaos are we supposed to save her and not
give up the gem? she thought, closing her eyes as she did so.

(That post was brilliant Sonic, I adore it! ;-; Don't care that
you posted early anymore lol)
Genevieve and Jerome tilted their heads in sync upon seeing the
male hedgehog before them, "How curious-"
"-the resemblance in you-"
"-with this one-"
"-is rather a spitting image."
"Yet she acts nothing like you."
"Curious."
"Curious."
"Curious."
The Desert Fox's ears twitched before letting out a low and
brief giggle.
"It seems that one of us-" she began.
"-has cursed you." Jerome continued without missing a beat.
"Allow me-"
"-to relieve you of that burden."
With a flick of her wrists Genevieve had lifted the curse
Fleurette had placed upon him due to his disrespectful remarks
of her deceased partner.
The two then leaned forward and their tone grew serious, "We
want The Pulse."
"It is a large gem-"
"-with chunks of metal orbiting around it."
"One of your allies has possession of it."
"Give it to us and will well let her go."
"Free from harm hopefully."
"Depending on what happens."
"But at least she will be alive."
"Be warned-"
"-any sudden moves-"
"-any at all-"
"-and her jaws will snap shut."
"You are familiar with her strength-"
"-yes?"
"It'll be easier than-"
"-slicing a hot knife through butter."
"One other thing." Genevieve added, her ears turning directly to
Lori's direction; as did Jerome's eyes. With a few flicks of his
wrist hooded figures suddenly appeared around Lori in puffs of
black smoke; looming over her.
"Don't you know-"
"-that is is rude to lurk?"
"Especially when a life is on the line?"

Karahl didn't respond to Sonic at all other than with a muffled
growl rippling behind Sapphire's neck. As her LED eyes
indicated, her brain had been Robotosized; as were the rest of
her internal organs.

Lori was shocked at the sudden hooded figures appearing around
her, and being noticed by the Mist-Locks, and yet she only
glared at said Mist-Locks for a moment before yelling for Sonic,
the female blue hedgehog, and the Mist-Locks to hear her from
her spot, "I'd just like you to know that the Pulse is not with
Sonic or me. And that you should return her-" she gestured at
the female blue hedgehog for a moment, then looking at the owl
and fox Mobians harshly.
"-back to Sonic now. Unless there's a way we can trust you to
keep a deal of giving our ally back without harming her, and if
we give you the Pulse with the rest of Mobotropolis unharmed?"
she added, jumping down from the figures and the building and
walking up a few steps, but not too close to the Mist-Locks. Her
snappy tone had come into the last words, but her eyes remained
serious as they glared again at the two Mist-Locks.

Thr couple looked to each other and then down to Karahl. They
tapped her shoulder and the pressure she had on Sapphire's neck
increased just enough to make it slightly more difficult to
breathe. Her fangs now started to scratch against her skin.
"I suggest-"
"-that you retrieve it."
"You are in no position to-"
"-make demands."

Now look what you did, Lori... her mind thought as the
Mist-Locks tightened the collar of teeth on the blue hedgehog's
neck, and Lori remembered that the crow -he called himself
Lyric- had taken the gem from Ty before they had headed off to
the library, and that Lori hadn't really paid any mind to Lyric
since then, nor had she seen the Pulse at all after Ember and
Topaz. Which meant that she didn't actually know where the Pulse
had gone. She didn't answer the Mist-Locks, for she wasn't able
to provide anything about where the gem was.
But then she looked to Sonic, and finally said in a quiet tone,
"I think we'll have to find the group again... After you dropped
the Pulse, a crow called Lyric took it from Ty, and I have not
seen it since... I'm very sorry..." As she said that, her ears
went down in sorrow; the female blue hedgehog may be killed
since they had failed to present the Pulse, and Mobotropolis may
be destroyed.

With all the tension going on why not have someone who's a
complete joke enter the mix?
Thankfully HDSVADL's Headquarters on this mobius were nowhere
near any major cities or towns, thus they were never hit, so as
usual his briefcase was full of crazy, unusual items.
And where did he start?
At the worst possible point. With no consideration of what was
going on.
[I]"HowAreYa friends. HowAreYaHowAreYaHowAreYaaa DurHurHur."[/I]
yep, here comes his standard introduction. He ran around shaking
everyone's hands, including the robotisized Karahl's as he said
his next part. [I]"Wes Weasley's the name! Sellin's the game!
YouNeedItIGotIt Don'tFindItI'llGetIt."[/I] now that his
'compulsory introduction' was out of the way his focus went over
to the robot Karahl and how she was holding Sapphire. He had a
big grin on his face as he spoke, looking at it from several
different angles. [I]"Incredible, this is amazing palsy! It
looks so much like she could actually be in a hostile situation
it could fool anyone. Good job there palsy."[/I] he said to Kara
giving her a slap on the back paying absolutely no heed to the
fact that the danger could be very real. He then looked over at
the fox and the owl mobians. [I]"I'll take the both of em palsy.
How much, dehheh."[/I] he asked the duo thinking that the robot
ninja tiger and the hedgehog were 'for hire' actors and that the
colorful duo of Mist-Locks were the current owners.

Sonic turned facing the tall hedgehog. "Lori can you please go
find the others and bring this gem back here. I can't leave them
here not like this." As the french couple spoke Sonic spoke in
harsh tones. "What have you done to Karahl? If I have to kill
you two to save my family then let's dance." He said slamming
his fist into his open palm. "We don't have that gem and I'm not
looking at my family tear itself apart for another moment. THEY
HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS LET THEM GO!" He demanded before
getting down onto all fours into a starting position. As Wes
showed up Sonic was thrown off his game one eye opened wide
while the other began to twitch with irritation. Sonic was
trying to save his family and here was Wes trying to make a
quick buck while his daughter was at risk. In an untempered
annoyed rage Sonic proceeded towards Wes arms out in a I'm going
to strangle you motion.
