Part III: To Test the Loyalty Between the Queen and Her Subjects
By: Karahl Date: November 16, 2014, 3:49 am

((Please note that this thread will influence Le Gerant's future
actions in the Arc. This includes both of what has, and what has
not happened in this thread. Participants, good luck~))
A gathering of males have protested outside the castle's front
gates, only to held back by the royal guards. They were just
regular Mobians, local male citizens in a fray. They were
angered, tired, dirty, hungry and confused, so they turned to
the royals of the city for leadership and guidance...That is of
course, before they found out from an anonymous tip-off that the
women and girls residing and working within the castle were
still there safe and sound. Even the royal treasures and
collected taxes were safely locked within.
They didn't have the means to barge past the guards, to climb or
fly over the front gates; but their yells of anger were
unmistakeable and could not be missed.
       "Where is the Queen!"
"What has she done about this?"
       "What will she do?"
"Please, help me... my baby girl has been taken away from me...
she is all that I have! my world!" one of them added,
desperately squeezing an outstretched arm between the bars of
the gate; a photo of a little girl shaking about his desperate,
dirty and flailing hand out towards one of the guards.
"Why are the women within the castle safe? Why aren't our women
       and girls safe?!"
"The Queen must know about this! She is probably behind all of
this! Why else would the castle grounds not be targeted?!"
"Yeah! And what about the castle's riches? Why hasn't the Queen
used her wealth to help us in need! I have been gagged, bruised
and robbed of everything! My home and business are destroyed! I
       have nowhere to go to!"
"I have been paying my taxes for forty-five years! I deserve a
share of her wealth in this time of need!"

Forte blinked, then carefully bowed, "Your Grace..." He growled
       carefully.
He looked to the others carefully, unsheathing his blade towards
the neck of the one that started to question her.
"Be silent, you belligerent, fool." The blade possibly under
       their fur to their skin.
"This is not her Majesty's doing." He snarled, "The Women have
been taken from this city on the guise of a Droll's party."
He looked towards Constance again, "I know not of the other
uniformed forces, but I do have my men continuing about the city
to continue aid and assistance, Milady. I know not where the
Hedgehog you seek is either." He snorted slightly, "I would take
heed the words of your Queen and do as she Commands... We need
to work together to find them. To go against your Queen is a
fool's errand. To attempt conflict among itself does nothing."

(I had promised I would join part 3 of the arc, but I can only
see Dawn in this particular thread...)
During her journey across Mobius, Dawn managed to find the once
splendor city of Mobotropolis...Of course, she was greeted with
nothing but a almost desolate in ruins, robbed of its riches and
woman...and a crowd gathering at the castle gate accompanied by
the angry shouts and concerns of the residents. Curious, she
carefully made her way over, her gaze falling upon the charred
remains of homes and shops as she made her way over. How awful,
she thought to herself, her frown deepening the more she
traversed through the city. Who could do such a thing to these
       people?
As Dawn grew closer to the gate, she could see that the
remaining residents were afraid, angry, and hurt. They were
confronted what appeared to be the city's leader and her royal
guard perhaps? She watched the scene from afar, not seeing it
necessary to intervene in the affairs of this world...just yet.
What more could she do when the city was already in ruins and
robbed blind? It would have probably been a better idea for her
to just leave this situation to this city's current leader...but
that changed when she heard the royal feline say to kill one of
the residents..."to make an example of." Alarm bells went off in
her head as her body began to move; how could she issue such a
harsh punishment to a poor man who has literally lost
everything? These people were scared, afraid...yes, it was wrong
of him to speak out of turn, but must there be more needless
bloodshed? She could understand if the leader was just as upset
       - her kingdom in ruins and the people angry at her would make
anyone retaliate harshly. Then again...what place was hers to
intervene in this? One could say her own caring nature and an
instinct to help others was taking over...Finding a way back to
the Domain would have to wait - there were more pressing matters
       here.
"W-wait! Your Grace, please!" she cried, pausing just before the
gate to see a blade pressed against the opposer's throat and the
feline brandishing her whip. She swallowed hard, but remained
firm. "Your Grace...please spare this man's life! He does not
know what he says! He is afraid and bruised like the others and
only seeks reassurance as well as answers from their leader!"
Gripping the gem that hung from her mantle, she had hoped that
she would be able to reason with the feline somehow...to
hopefully spare his life with the expense of her assistance. But
that glare told her everything - her words probably meant
       nothing.

The prince blinked, Focus kept towards the Ephemeral Being
before them, as he couldn't quite believe what he gazed upon.
       ...Yet another dragon??
       ...Nay...
The attire seems familiar to him.
His gaze turned soft, almost nostalgic...
But his hold o the blade was still curt, strong, and if he
shifted again it would be an easy slice through muscle and bone.
       ...But he agreed.
He saw no reason to kill one of your subjects because they
       accuse.
Much less a man that is injured and perhaps confused as the lot
of the men still being assisted are.
..As usual his deeds fell on the ears of the enraged Queen.
There was no reasoning to quell such a thing when her rage
rivaled... if not was worse than his.
To forte there was no threat or violent slights in his voice.

While most would have flinched at the feline's tone, Dawn
remained firm, her gaze hardened just a tad. She could not
believe that the feline had to resort to cruelty and harshness
as a way to keep her subjects in line. Perhaps that was the only
way to keep these Surface dwellers in line..? Nay...she would
not believe it. While she knew that there were those out there
who would not hesitate to take advantage of the kindness she
displayed, she refused to believe that there was not a peaceful
way to resolve this. And what was there to gain if she did slay
the man? Her people would fear her, rise against her. Would it
be worth it for them to live this way just because one spoke out
of turn? Nay. That is not what she would have done. That's not
       what Yoake would have done...
"" Dawn spoke in a calm, even tone. "[color=white]These people
need guidance, not fear, and I am willing to put one man's life
on the line just to show that. However, I will admit defeat if
proved otherwise, but all I ask you is to give me this one
       chance."
She stared the feline dead in the eye, her gaze never faltering
just to show her sincerity and devotion. "Keep in mind, we have
no desires to question your authority nor add to the
distress...we only wish to assist in containing the situation."
She held her gaze for a few more seconds before standing before
the crowd of males. She straightened her posture, retaining the
regal appearance she had not used in quite some time before she
spoke once more, her tone was still firm and held authority, but
       it was gentle...reassuring.
"Peace my friends, calm yourselves. Quell the darkness that
clouds your minds and heed my words carefully. You mustn't blame
your queen for the misfortune that falls upon you all, nor can
you accuse her of being the culprit." She glanced at each of
them carefully, a sympathetic look coming upon her features.
"You are afraid...angry...hungry and hurt. Your loved ones hath
been taken by unknown forces, each of your futures look as bleak
as the next...but you cannot let your anger and uncertainty
cloud the truth from your eyes!"
Sunlight happen to cascade down upon the headpiece, allowing the
aura and warmth of the sun to resonate through the dragoness'
body, giving her feathers and horns an ethereal glow. "Your
queen loves and cares for you all, but your rage towards her
will not rectify nor fix the position you rest in, and it
certainly will not bring your loved ones back home!" She
motioned at the Mobian with the blade to his throat. "This is
the fate that awaits for you shall you continue this path!
Constant fear of being slain because you speak from your anger,
not your hearts! You all know better than this...you all know
that she would never put her people in harm's way, nor have any
intention to do so! I ask of you--nay--I beg of you, do not hold
your queen in account for what has happened here! It may appear
she has the advantage, to be left completely untouched and safe,
but that's more than one reason why you should rejoice! What
have you done had she suffered the same fate? What have you done
if she was robbed of her riches and left without a roof over her
head?? What have you all done if she was taken away like the
others?? I need not answer that, I assume...you already know the
       answer."
Dawn allowed her wings to open a bit, allowing the warmth stored
in the feathers to escape to the crowd, a sorrowful smile
       appeared on her lips.
"Repairing the city to it original splendor will take time,
money, and more importantly, dedication and patience. Please
remember...that your loved ones want to see their homes and
family waiting for them to return, and not the chaos that
emanates from you now." She turned towards the Mobian with the
blade to his flesh and spoke softly. "And...I imagine that there
is someone out there who means the world to you. Imagine the
grief they will go through if they came back, only to learn that
you have been slain. Would it have really been worth it to make
your voice known in exchange for your life...and leaving that
person or persons alone?...Do you know what they will go through
if they were to come back and not be met with your smile and
open arms...but rather, news of your demise, and the necessity
       to bury you...?"
She stared at him for a moment before returning her gaze to the
crowd. "I may seem like an interloper, but I assure you all,
from the bottom of my heart, that I only wish to give you all
the assistance and solace you desperately need. I have plated my
part...now it's time to play yours...and what you do now will
decide not only the fate of one man, but the entire populous.
Allow my light to guide you through the darkness and towards a
new beginning. Free yourselves from the uncertainty, the
suspicion the rage...Remember that you all have daughters,
nieces, wives, sisters, grandmothers and aunts who desperately
want to return back to you all! Do not allow this chaos to
spread - let peace reign once more! And more importantly...show
more respect for your queen, for she is all you all have at the
       moment."
Upon finishing her speech, Dawn closed her eyes and folded her
wings, pressing them against her back. "Do as you must, as will
I." she finishes, stepping back to allow her words to sink in,
praying that had listened and settle the matter without any
needless bloodshed. But would her words really be enough..?

That.. speech... Was perhaps Long Winded...
       TOO Long winded...
Constance has yet to seem to be the Patient Type of Mobian.
He still had the broadsword to the Mobian's Neck, as he looked
       towards Constance.
       He knew better.
He understood how she handled her kingdom.
...And in most aspects he agreed and respected it.
A lot of aspects he could say he adored it.
       ...But these men...
"Apologies, Your Majesty." He growled, rather cautious
       surprisingly.
"This mobian must be someone's Kin. Chains would be as fitting
as to her." He remarked, "I will graciously take punishment for
Insubordination, Your Grace but I do not wish for his example to
create a ripple of a coupe or distrust before you."
He moved himself, the blade still on the man's neck as he held
his hand to his heart and bowed, "I beg that your justified Rage
be brought upon your Lord Commander... as I was not able to put
a stop to this as I am fitted to do so."

crowd of men, she stuck out. She tensed when the queen ordered
Forte to kill a man for accusing. Lightanis was about to speak
out when Dawn spoke out with much wisdom. She was surprised
when Constance ordered Forte to put the dragoness in chains
after dispatching the man. Yet again she went to speak out but
Forte did something that was most honorable in her mind. "Sorry
to intrude on the matter, your Majesty," Lightanis spoke
finally, bowing slightly, "but if you were to kill anyone, as
Forte has stated with great wisdom, your people would only see
it as more reason to distrust you. A revolution ist the last
thing you need with the threat of Le Gerant and the Mist-Locks
drawing near." She slowly made her way through the crowd,
stopping at the gate. "I, Lightanis, wish you to reconsider
your decision for the sake of you and your people," Lightanis
finished, kneeling with her wings partly open in a respectful
way. If she refuses, I will have to take this into my own

Dawn felt her heart sank when she realized her words meant
nothing. However, her facial expression was that of a stoic one,
and remained that way even when she was proposed to be chained.
In a way, it was her punishment for getting herself involved in
something far greater and more dire than she had ever imagined.
Then again, she knew the risks even before she tried to stop the
feline...She gambl,ed a Mobian's life to her voice of reason,
       and lost.
I suppose I was doomed to fail in the beginning, she thought to
herself sorrowfully, before hearing the other dragon oppose to
the queen's decision to slay the Mobian. She was surprised at
this, fully accepting defeat and already waiting for the man to
fall, only to have a golden phoenix intervene as well. She
listened carefully to the glimmering being, gripping the gem
once more as a small glimmer of hope welled within her once
more. She had hoped that her efforts were not in vain after
all...If she couldn't get to the feline, then maybe these other
       Mobians could.
But even if that were the case...what would happen then? Did
these people...did they really take her words to heart? Or were
they just nothing but the wind to them?

       Silence.......cold.......a gentle breeze.
The glowing fox found himself on his back, facing upwards
towards the sky. A gentle groan escaped his lips, as he observed
       his immediate surroundings.
....forest.....trees. No base in the immediate area. Nothing
that he could use to get a bearing.....yet.
Next came the anatomy check. Was everything in place? He lifted
his left arm. No problems. He lifted his right....
       .....nothing responded.
He looked down.....and immediately, his worn-out expression
       twisted to that of anguish.
His entire chest had white bandages wrapped around it. Where his
right shoulder was, was just the same bandages glowing
brightly....but no arm. Not even a stump of an arm.
Sy had sacrificed it in the battle with Karahl, and slowly, he
recollected all those last moments. The flash. The silent agony.
       The following darkness.
So that's why it hurt.....he sat up slowly, using his remaining
arm to get to his feet. Luckily for him, it seemed his photon
saber and pistol were still in working order, but his shield was
nowhere to be found. His large ears flopped as he took a hit
       where it hurt him most....
...his warrior pride. Syruchi had always been a fighter with two
weapon types at all times. Both arms were extensions of him, his
very definition for being. With one gone.....he was like a lame
dog. Crippled, damaged. He closed his eyes once more, first to
try and blot it out.....only to be flooded with the realization
that he hadn't died, and that the events around him were most
certainly still in motion! He had to move.
Slowly, he drew his pistol, and slowly, he made his way out of
       the forest.
       ~*~*~*~*~*~
The verbal exchanges between the rightfully-agitated civilians,
the dragon prince, the armored woman, and the dragonness, had
gone on strong for a while. With each blaring out their sides in
the matter for all to hear, one more voice opted to join in the
       mix.
"Hmnf. So, there are still those who are immune from the
calamity at hand, huh?" Syruchi's voice was cracked, tired. He
hadn't fully recovered, it seemed, and the bags under his eyes
were beacons of his current status.
"I will have to disagree, however." He glanced towards Dawn,
"While a lot of points in your speech are good.....one stands
out. The queen is NOT all they have." His brow furrowed....he
had heard stories of Constance, but this display was....boorish,
       in his eyes.
"I am fully aware you are all understandably angry, given the
circumstances." The one-armed Emulan slowly walked forward,
saber in hand. He took his place in front of the civilian male
in question, eyes narrowed, but his back to Constance and Forte.
"However. While understandable, do know that you are not alone.
There are those of us who have taken action. Those of us who
want our loved ones back just as badly as you do." He gave an
acknowledging nod to Dawn, who spoke before him, knowing she had
tried her best to quell what could easily twist into an
       uprising.
He looked over those angry faces. Those furious citizens....
"I have lost someone dear to me as well in this calamity. I will
do anything, and everything in my ability to get her - and
everyone else - back. If you need evidence...." He closed his
       eyes.
It still hurt. He gently raised his left hand towards his right
shoulder, sans an arm, "....I have....sacrificed much to do so.
And I am willing to sacrifice more if it means I can succeed.
But just be aware that there are people out there. People LIKE
me, who are determined to bring your loved ones, and your normal
       lives, back to you."
It seemed even with his pride wounded, and his abilities
critically hindered, he still threw himself straight into the
messes around him. And he was about to do it again.
When he heard Forte speak.....an idea slowly came to mind.
"Actually, if I may." He turned to face his dragonkin friend,
his hand clutching ever-tighter to the saber.
"Queen...er....Constance. Your dragonkin warrior is right. You
are making an honorable warrior do a disgraceful deed. Of COURSE
he'd go against those orders. To 'make an example', to rule by
fear, will not bode well. Rather than brutishly executing
dissenting opinions of those that are under your leadership, why
not show the virtues of what makes a good leader? Understand
that there is QUITE a lot of evidence that points towards you,
and refute it without resorting to violence...for it only
further incriminates you. All the women around here are gone -
you are not. The city is burning, ransacked - your abode is
untouched. It makes sense for people to think you are involved."

He did NOT need anyone to speak for him or agree with him.
...Honestly he was hoping to simply have her focus on him to
settle the strife and continue on with what is needed.
       It was much past that.
"Constance." He growled, not flinching from her damage,
"Apologies for speaking out of term, I was the one who spoke out
of term in the first place.."
His eyes darted to Syruchi, knowing that glint even from tired
eyes, as his own eyes narrowed and he shook his one, PRAYING to
the God of Order he wouldn't make this even worse.
"We have a crisis. If the lot of you can move your maws about
what can be done Perhaps you ought of help!" He snarled, baring
his fangs as he slowly resheathed his sword.
His gaze moved to Lightanis. For a good moment settling on hers,
until it went towards the Dragoness.
"Milady, My urgency for giving you my Assistance is
unparalleled. And will not Falter. Any other strife words, I
BESEECH them to be focused on me."
