New Kitcheneers?

Hey fellow mods ;D
I was wondering if anyone had invited Boydie yet? He's a really
good guy and a great contributor, I wonder if someone maybe had
already invited him but he was staying loyal to Tone, being a
mod and all...
Any other ideas for people to invite? Schav was an inspired
idea, whoever invited him :)
Also, who are we NOT inviting? Tina, STC, Saeed? :D

Hey John,
That's a tough call. I don't know Boydie very well. It might
be little bit awkward for him to accept as he is a mod on tone's
forum. I'm tempted to think he might feel uneasy about an
offer. I'd invite tone if I thought he'd join though again,
I'm tempted to think he wouldn't (he's also exactly the sort of
member we need). Nooms is a member and I'm a little surprised
that he accepted my invite as he's also a mod over at tone's
place. I thought he too might feel uneasy about joining. I
asked him because we got to know each other very well through
our collaborations (we've almost written a full album together).
In a nutshell, I haven't got a clue about your question John!

Cheers Paul, I think :D :D :D
Maybe I should message him, see what he says, it'd be great to
have him on board.
Other people to consider...
James Nighthawk?
Ramshackles?
thoughts?

Good morning John,
I think it's just you and I again on this frequented mini forum.
I'm open to everyone's suggestions and will be happy to go with
whatever admin and mods desire. What I will say is that I don't
want the kitchen to be populated solely by member's from tone's
forum so I'm reluctant to invite the suggested members.
I will share some of my ideas and know I'm not alone in holding
them. I've invited only a couple of members from tone's place.
My reasoning is that I was dissatisfied with the dynamics that
existed there. I'm all for sharing advice and having a pool of
well informed members. That existed to some extent over at
tone's but also I felt at times that it was a little stilted and
intimidating to post songs. I have over 30 years experience as
a musician and still, that's exactly how I felt - I've had
reviews that focused on technical aspects of my production
rather than songwriting. I sometimes felt that the advice was
given more to illustrate a members knowledge of production
rather than to offer help to a fellow songwriter.
Equally, I didn't agree with the rules about frequency of
posting which some members including moderators wanted to
implement. I think new songs, whether they be from mods, admin,
or other forum contributors are the lifeblood of a good forum
and therefore, I want a forum that allows members to post
freely.
I'd love to see forum members increase in number and believe
we'll see that happen over time. It's difficult trying to see
how at the moment but they eventually will. It's difficult to
be patient but I think that's what needed. Can I suggest we
should review this every 2- 4 weeks? If we think the situation
needs to be addressed, the we can all suggest and discuss
ideas. We might regard this post as the first
review/discussion! I also think that it is imperative that
admin and mods are open and discus freely their opinions on this
mini forum. That will help promote a harmonious team/forum.
Thoughts please chaps?

Hi Paul,
You make some good points and it seems you've thought more
deeply about the Kitchen than I have. :)
You are right in what you say, the production critique and the
posting limits at Tone's can be restrictive and intimidating. I
messaged Boydie last night because I do value his balanced views
and I get on well with him, time will tell if he chooses to
join. I take your point about the other suggestions though, and
I agree we want to build a different environment in The Kitchen,
that's why you guys created it. :)

Don't worry Habi if you have sent the invite ;)
I am joining a few Facebook songwriting portals and I am going
to try and promote the kitchen
It will take time but I honestly think over time it will become
amazing :D

i love the kitchen, i am a kitcheneer
better put: Ich bin ein Kitcheneer, perhaps we should have
t-shirts made of that, so some kitchen marketing goodies for new
members ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
and yes, i am serious, i am always serious but everybody thinks
i am not ;D ;D ;D
