What do you consider to be your best work?

So you create something you're really really proud of, you post
it on a forum or two, share on FB etc, then, after a few weeks,
you're still really proud of it but don't feel you can spam the
world with it all over again, what to do..? what to do..?
Well here is one last chance ;D
What is the one song you feel most proud of to date? The one
song you are trying to better with every subsequent attempt, but
fail.. ??? >:( ???
What is the one song you'd play to your musical idol if you had
5 minutes in a room with them?
Here is mine...

Great. Tune John,
With my producer hat on, I'm hearing Snow a Patrol. Typically
they might use a music box/piano and contrast the
Gentle sections with a pounding bass and overdriven guitar. I
fine vide and great little song. Well done!
I can't think which song I'd like to present to my idol. I love
the rock based songs that I wrote for my band 'The Vanity Rules'
but equally I'm immensely proud of my later productions - so
many songs to choose from. A single one doesn't quite
communicate all the different aspects of my writing. I'm going
to think about this one. I'll eventually post one of my band
songs. I recently sent them to nooms and he quite appropriately
said "there was life before sanatogen" :-) I like that! :)

Thanks Paul, Nooms is a wizard with words... sanatogen.. :D
I had never seen it before but yes, you're right, the song
really would lend itself to Snow Patrol 'Run' treatment, it's
actually quite similar in terms of rhythm.
For me, I just can't seem to match it. The music I like to
listen to generally is this simple guitar/vocal arranged stuff
(Jose Gonzalez, Ray Lamontagne, Robin Pecknold, early Lennon
recordings) so where do I go from here? I just love to be able
to create a song, a track that is so simple, yet so full and
complete because of it's content, something which stands up on
it's own without a full production. Thus far, Tillerman is the
closest I've come to creating the exact type of song I like to
listen to.
Onwards and upwards :)
