Here is System of a Down's first official demo tape.  This
tape was released in 1995.  Thanks to user gracz54 on The
Pirate Bay

This is a pretty cool little demo tape.
I like how it shows how SOAD has changed and improved since they
started out. The sound of the vocals is interesting too, making
them a lot harder to understand.
The songs on this album differ quite a lot from the finished,
commercially released versions of the songs. Sugar's chorus is
slightly different, P.L.U.C.K. is much longer, and the songs are
slightly slower too. 1995 must have been a good year for
recording of songs for SOAD, as Sugar and Suite-Pee (or
Suitepee, as it is listed on the demo tape), are my two
favourite songs on the album.
And the demo tape offers a song that has not yet even been
released commercially (although it has been played at concerts),
Dam. This song is just damn cool. Anyway, puns aside, this is an
awesome little song that I, in some ways, wish had a commercial
release. But while I do wish it had a commercial release, i'm
also sort of glad that it didn't also, because the fact that
this song hasn't been released commercially means that only the
more "true" fans will know about this song. What I also love
about Dam is that eerie feeling that you get while listening to
it. Well, I can't speak on behalf of the SOAD fans, but it
certainly creeps me out.
And may I also add, Demo Tape 2 and 3 both only have three
tracks each, whereas this demo tape has four, making it slightly
more special.
So, in summary, this is the demo tape with songs that differ
most from their later, commerically-released recordings, and
also shows a good starting point of SOAD's career. Don't be
fooled thinking that these are similar recordings, they differ
greatly, and are definitely worth owning!
