SLV USA advertising

I'm having a logo and banner made by Extreme Graphics in
Alamosa. As soon as that is done we'll get a flyer out to
advertise the site and get it rolling.

I saw this not long after it was posted but wanted to think
about it before responding.
I am not sure that this logo would portray our message well. To
me it immediately gives the impressions of confrontation and a
rebellious nature. It also seems to call for a return to the
past instead of going forward. While I am a big fan of a
rebellious nature :) , and an even bigger fan of remembering
our heritage, I am not sure that this image is in our best
interest when trying to pull many people and organizations
together.
Since a person should never criticize unless they have another
constructive idea to offer...
My first thoughts are for a more modern looking logo. Perhaps
an oval with a blue background, side view of a flying eagle's
head in the center. Wrapped on top of the oval "SLV-USA", on
the bottom "United for our future"
This is by NO means the only thing I would support. Just an
idea. Hate to criticize something when I didn't help with any
of the work. I do however feel that our logo is critical to how
we will be viewed. Those who would normally support us need to
see a clean, catchy logo. Those who have yet to make up their
minds about us, right or wrong, will judge us by the first thing
they see. To follow our mission the logo we choose will need to
be front and center in all we do.

Sure make my life hard. LOL I have a second one I thought as a
banner. It's too big to go on here beings I only have it in a
PDF file. But it's not built in what I exactly had in mind. I
can show you my rough draft and send to your phone what I got
back.

I got the business cards coming so we have time I just want a
flyer to put out in the gun stores and business along those
lines.
