       They have labeled me as a foreign agent, I imagine with the
       intention that I leave, but I am not going to leave. An
       interesting byproduct of this policy has been that, while most
       liberal opposition leaders have left the country – with a few
       exceptions, such as Alexei Navalny7, who was already in prison,
       and Ilya Yashin, who was recently imprisoned8–, those who have
       stayed in Russia are mostly left-wing. So, interestingly, the
       left is becoming a kind of hegemonic force within the anti-war
       movement.
       The anti-war movement is real, although it has Phone Number List

       forced to go underground. And it is
       becoming radicalized, because people are beginning to understand
       that it is not just about the war: it is about the political and
       social system. A very interesting sign of this is that segments
       of the liberal opposition that used to distrust anything
       left-wing are now moving towards it.

       For example, Yashin recently stated that he had certain
       disagreements with Navalny because he himself identifies more as
       a left-wing person, which surprised us because we always
       considered him a liberal. Another example is Yulia Galyámina, a
       very charismatic and important figure in the liberal opposition,
       who recently declared that her best friends in the movement are
       communists.9. So there is definitely a left turn within the
       movement.
