says to Caedric the Tarnsman: This isn't going behind my Mate's
back. Not exactly. But with the new shop almost complete and her
wanting it to carry all manner of exotic items that can't be
found anywhere else, well.... my idea will secure that. And if I
can accomplish some other business and gather some information
on the madness in the crossroads.... well, that will just be a
happy bonus. Hence why I paid Caedric the Tarnsman double the
rate Malora had paid to retrieve me from the crossroads village
to fly me out to the exchange point, hoping maybe there might be
someone there willing to trade for what I wanted. I've got my
usual collection of spearheads, knives, arrowheads and candies
packed. Everything one takes to trade with the Panthers and the
Outlaws.I nod as he asks me about the place to touch down. "Yes.
There's a fire pit there on the beach that should be lit closer
to dark. There's some frames they tie the slaves to. I think it
might serve for a tarn hitch."
The saucy blonde creature, slinky yet very exact with her foot's
placement, pushed through the woods with Saga, the youngest and
newest pupil underneath Tove's care. The women's arms were
linked in two with a newfound energy that they were now linked
and filling in the separation gaps. Saga informed Tove that
another mutiny had been against Gondul, the Thunder Fall's
original leader. Half the women folded and followed Sif toward
the West, where the Broken Arrows populated the Northern Forest.
No doubt Keres welcomed them and their information with open
arms. However, Tove was pleased to learn that Gondul had not
been captured but only wounded during the uprising. Of course,
Saga had yet to hear of Helga and Sigrid's location.
Still, Tove was relieved to hear that Ute, Gretta, and Astrid
were unharmed during the uprising and were quite possibly
running together in Broken Arrows territory, or so assumed by
Saga. As they strolled down the path, their limbs were entwined,
and their bows were slung over their shoulders. The route
appeared to be less trodden than it typically was. Tove knew
that Keres's exchange point further west had nearly soaked up
the traffic that was once bustling at the Laurius Exchange
Point. The forest girls began to silence themselves as the
flapping of the formidable tarn flew overhead, and they both
found themselves tucking themselves underneath the shade of a
tree. No one, except experienced tarnsmen, enjoyed being in
their presence. The girls waited, their hearts caught in their
throats, but they reminded themselves they were on neutral
ground. Tove fiddled with her bow's string before stepping
bravely out from the trail. Against the evening's last kiss of
daylight, the bronze-skinned panther girl with pieces of
exceptional leather and weaponry stood fearlessly at the
trailhead and down toward the firepit that had yet to be lit,
signaling trade.

says to -- High Captain Song ---: ¬nods as he spots the location
Frode speaks of. With the preassure of the legs to the tarn
beneeth, He guides Grumpy to a landing, coming down surpringly
gently for this old tarn, and shakes His head, knowing the beast
is showing off for their guest. Dismounting, He quickly ties the
reigns to the wracks, and stands to the side..

and knows not friend from foe just yet.. other than the oiled

says to ...All that Glitters... , Caedric the Tarnsman: I leave
the tarnsman to the care of his beast once my feet are on terra
firma. I'm not as ill at ease with flying as some, but I do
prefer to make my own way when traveling when possible. Call it
the Captain in me.I'm clad in simple homespun traveling clothes.
None of the flashy garments I a favor as a Skald when I perform
or the fine coat and hat I favor as Captain Song. I've left my
Mercy at home, though a 12 inch hunting knife hangs on the right
side of my belt. Not visible are the three-inch blades I keep
tucked up my sleeves and the two daggers of similar length
hidden in my boots. I also have a longbow over my shoulder with
six cloth-yard shafts in a quiver on my back. All the better for
testing the arrowheads should such a test be demanded.
I mover to the firepit and pull a flint and tender from my belt.
Thankfully, there is already kindling prepared, left by the last
person to use the post. Soon a roaring fire is burning,
signaling to the forest dwellers that a trader is here. WIth
that, I unfold the bundle with my goods on the log and have a
seat, waiting to see who shows up.

says to Caedric the Tarnsman: I nod. "I hope so. That was rather
why we came here. But stand easy, tarnsman. This is neutral
territory and any who cause trouble here do so at great risk."
The panther girl with long legs, curvacious hips, and the taut
inward dip of her abdomen whistled at Saga, indicating, as in
days past, for her to begin readying her goods off to the side
to encourage trade. Tove had not come to the exchange point
prepared because she was not here for herself but for Saga. Tove
pushed away her long blonde hair, revealing an odd doppelganger
resemblance to a peasant girl Frode of Kassau may have met long
ago at the Sardar Fair. Yes, she had the same sweet pout that
naturally rested on her face as if she were in constant deep
thought. The wind swept toward the firepit, with two men
relaxing around its crackling fire. The breeze pushed at the
sand and the bits of foliage that lost their grip on the earth.
It swirled around her booted feet as she arrived in queenly
fashion with her bow hooked over her shoulder. Saga swept around
toward Tove's left, finding herself out of the direct line of
sight of the two men there and one that looked vaguely familiar.
Many moons had passed since she sat directly across from Frode
of Kassau to defraud him of a coin. So, it wasn't until they
breached the beach that her alarmingly beautiful Cheshire cat
smile blossomed on her lips. "Well fuck me," she said, not
meaning literally.

chuckle. "Luckily, if I do get filled with holes, whatever does
that to me will likely do the same to you before Malora gets her
hands on you." I cut myself short as I see the curvy, scantily
clad Panther walk forward. Indeed, I do recognize her as Asa the
Peasant, for I have a gift for faces that rarely fail sme. And
it is then I recognize her as a Panther I sold arrowheads to
several moons ago and the connection is made. I hear her purred
words and seize upon the opening, though her meaning was not
literal."Business first, Huntress. Then maybe we can discuss
that. Unless that is your offer of payment for what we have to
trade?" I grin broadly, suggesting that I would not be
displeased at such negotiations. "It's Asa, isn't it? Like your
mother? Or is there some other name you are using now that
you're back in the forest and free of the Peasantry?"

¬chuckles and shakes His head.. leave it to the pretty bard to
go schmoozing it up with a Panther. Rising, He clips His daggers
back into their sheathes, securing them for flight, and -hands
open and out, He approaches the smaller girl with her blanket of
wares, smiling freindily- Mind if I have a look there, lass?
Tove's bow dropped to the crook of her arm until she eventually
relaxed her weapons against one of the temwood trees that seemed
far out of its element near the Laurius River and away from the
tree line. The bow's weight felt freeing but missed as she
rolled her shoulder back, relaxing her body now that it no
longer had the wood weighing down half her body. The tawny brief
skins Tove wore covered the most important parts but left little
to the imagination, strapped with weaponry and wildness. In
Tove's first years in the forest, she despised coming to the
trade point; honestly, she still felt the same about the trade
point. It was a place where the tension could be felt, prickling
at her skin all over, warning her to rush into the woods and be
free of the men that ruled the rest of the world. Tove's lips
pressed together, relaxing the smile that was fastened there. Of
course, Tove's eyes would roll as you quickly dismissed her
suggestion, only to move on toward business ventures and deals
that would involve you between her. Of course, just as soon as
her smile appeared, it disappeared, and she scolded you with
unforgiving blue eyes narrowed like daggers piercing you. Tove
did not sit. She stalked. Her eyes roved over you as
possessively as any man would a slave girl. But she relented as
her mother's name was brought up. "Do you think Asa is my name,
Frode of Kassau?" she asked, glancing over toward the other man
that had brought you to her territory. "Names have a lot of
weight, don't they?" she asked, considering keeping her real
name hidden from you to continue holding all the cards in her
favor. But she couldn't continue with this farce much longer.
Now that you had been delivered to the exchange point, she would
begin to weave her tale of deception. "Here, no, I'm known as
Tove. I'm a Thunder Falls girl," she said, not knowing if you
were on the up and up of the forest politics or not.

gentler but no less bright-eyed woman that sat cross-legged with
an array of goods that would hope to bring her a bag of candies
or steel-tipped arrows. The woman would share a collection of
bones that could be used for charms, bracelets, weapons, and
such. There was also a collection of curious stones she had
collected during her travels. Of course, the most interesting of
her goods was a folded map of the Southern border of the
Northern Forest, mapped out by Helga of Thunder Falls.

glance up at Tove, who was caught up in conversation with the
famous bard, but she welcomed your presence, having been locked
in the forest for quite some days now without conversation or
candy. When you shared your handful of sweet candies, Saga eyed
you underneath the heavy rim of her eyelashes and plucked only
one from the expanse of your hand. She rarely had free candies
handed to her, so she was pretty unsure of the piece, sniffing
it and then unwrapping it with a careful touch of her tongue
against the surface of the treat. She savored it once she
plopped it in her mouth, and her body seemed to relax
tremendously. "I haven't had one of these in forever," she
groaned, half pleased that she finally found some relief from
the terrors of the forest.

says to ...All that Glitters... : I chuckle. "Aye, they do." I
say regarding the weight of names. "And no... no I didn't. But I
respect the need for an alias as much as any. Heaven knows I've
earned a few in my day." I nod as you finally reveal what may be
another alias for all I know, but I take the words at face
value. "I am glad to finally meet you Tove. The real you. Real
as anyone can be in this world, anyway." I shrug. "I fear I'm
not familiar with that Circle but I've been absent from the
forest for some time. I was counted a friend of the Tempest
Circle, but I had heard they were scattered to the four winds."
My face turns sad a moment as I think of Dove, who word had
reached me had been killed in a battle for territory. One of
many friends I lost too soon.
The forest made or broke women, and often, many lost to its game
by way of the collar, but the boldest of us lasted until the
very end, with the forest being our last vision before the long
goodbye. "Sit with me?" Tove asked, indicating that we both sat
and enjoyed the warmth of the glowing embers that danced in
unison high above the heads of all attendees. "Tempest Circle.
Yes, I remember them. Of course, right now, my band is scattered
to the wind," she said, eyeing Saga, who was told a tale of
grandeur by the tarnsmen. She would have to remind Saga tomorrow
that men often told tall tales to women at the exchange point in
hopes of luring them back out into the wilds of civilization.
Tove glided down to the ground, her long limbs folded and
crisscrossed, revealing the benefits of being between her thighs
on any evening. The material bunched higher on her hips as she
leaned forward, shielding any roving eyes. She plucked the ebony
knife on her hip and plunged it rightfully into the sand,
marking this spot where she sat as her own. Tove pulled out her
suitcase, pulled forth a dark bottle with a mixture, giving it a
swirl, and then kissed the vial before she sat it aside. "The
Broken Arrows has caused hell for many bands lately," she said,
obviously displeased with mentioning her rival's name. "The word
is....well..." she paused, not continuing her thought in hopes
you'd like to trade candies for more.

brief furs. I keep my bow shouldered and regard you. "Aye.
Things have been hard for all on the frontier. Someone has been
starting fires along the crossroads - the docks and a lumberyard
burned from what I'm told. Some are blaming the Panthers, but I
think none of you would be so foolish as to call attention to
yourselves in this manner." A pause at that as I eave that
carrot out there. "Do you think these Broken Arrows might be
responsible for that? If they are causing the other bands
trouble, as you say, perhaps they are striking out at all on the
borders?"
I reach to my belt and draw forth a package of those lemon
candies I usually carry when I barter with panthers. I say
nothing but just leave it there in my hand as I regard you.

His stories with His captive audience-
Tove played with the dagger's hilt, her chin tossed aside,
revealing the long line of her throat roped with gold. Tove had
many gold pieces of jewelry decorating her already dazzling
figure that seemed to glow against the sun's last hint of
daylight. Soon, the rays were swallowed up by the clouds far on
the horizon. The moons began to take the main stage overhead,
and you would see the panther girls look up toward them as if
there were exchanged whispers shared amongst them. The moons
were a weight on all panther girls. They all lived by the cycle
of the moons, relenting only once a month to the full moons
overhead. Tonight, however, was not one of those nights the
panther girls had to answer the call of the circle. "Of course,
it would be foolish to blame Panthers," she said, plucking the
knife out and stabbing it deep once again. It was like Tove was
playing a game of Kill the Beach because sand was getting in
places it shouldn't. Tove did not take the bait. Instead, she
arched one of those brows and offered her naked palm upward,
expecting a piece of candy to find atop her accepting palm. "I
might have thoughts," she said, eyeing her palm and then you.

my business concerns and I imagine you see more than most in the
deep forests. Perhaps some sign of who might be doing this?"
When the piece of candy was placed atop her palm, her long
fingers clutched around it, and she pulled it inward and tucked
it safely away into her satchel. Tove leaned close to you, her
body dangerously close to your shoulder. She smelled of the
first day of fall first thing in the morning. The scent was
crisp with the smell of smoke from a fire. Was it from the fire
at the docks, perhaps the one at the lumberyard that lingered in
her hair? Doubtful. Forest girls were known to relax around the
fires in the evenings in the sanctuary of their territory. "I do
know that Keres is the leader of the Broken Arrows. She is from
Port Kar and was the slave of a Pirate. I think she hates
anything to do with ships. So, it's possible," she said and
leaned back away, holding her palm for an additional piece of
candy before providing more information.

thought occurs to me that if there is strife between the bands,
you could just as easily be pointing me at your own rivals
rather than giving me an earnest guess as to who might be
responsible for the dock fires. "These Broken Arrows... do they
mark their territory with three arrows grouped together? There
were rumors of such arrows being found at some of the scenes of
the fires." I sigh a bit as I regard you leaning in, clearly
trying to distract me. Luckily I am used to beautiful women

independent women are it. My own citrus and pine scent fills
your nostrils at this distance - a mix of the forest and the sea
that were my homes for so long.
Another was deposited into her satchel, and she leaned back,
settled comfortably as she dug through the sand again with her
ebony blade gifted to her by Hrolf of Vegvisir. She wondered if
Hrolf would expect it was her, Tove of Thunder Falls, that
nearly pierced his heart and destroyed his village's food
supply. A small, quivering smile found her mouth, but she wiped
it away after collecting her bota, cheering Saga, who deserved a
night off, and dragging several gulps full of water.
"Unfortunately, yes. Usually with a blue fletched arrow but
sometimes they are known to use other ones," she said,
moistening her lips and setting her bota of water aside. Tove
breathed you in and basked against the orange glow of the fire.
"I could tell you where their dancing circle is," she said,
tipping her head to the side, offering the bit of information
she had pulled out of her drugged victim, Quinn of the Broken
Arrows. The offer was there. Would you take the bait? The deal
would be so sweet and profitable. You could have a bounty of
panther women to sell and woo, so should you choose. Was this

nothing. No accusations or so much as threat. Just a statement
of fact as I watch your face and body carefully. To see how you
react. To see where your mind goes.
The panther girl seemed to slink back uncomfortably, and her jaw
tensed behind the shield of her hair as she looked ahead in
flames; one of her hands fisted hard around the hilt of her
dagger while the other held a fist full of sand that she had
recently swirled. Have you ever seen a cat back into a corner
that she did not expect? Well, Tove had nearly the same energy.
Would she be so bold as to eradicate hundreds of years of peace
at an exchange point to cover her tracks? Instead, she relaxed
all the tension in her body and breathed out an excuse. Her
stormy blue eyes cut up to you. "I lost many arrows in my fight
against one of my own that ran to the Broken Arrows," she said,
tossing and glaring across to Saga to focus and keep watch.
There were others—lots of peering eyes.

You would notice the tension in her throat increase and then

Northern forests and can string a longbow as well as any raised

together as close as possible. Half the number as the shooting

"Hrolf says you have a liking for trophy weapons. Would the
knife of the Skald of Kassay be a suitable prize for your
collection?"
Tove found herself in a perplexing predicament that left her
torn between staying put and moving forward. The situation was
rife with uncertainty and ambiguity, and she struggled to
determine the best course of action. It was now that the panther
girl began to play with the hilt, caressing the tip of it with
her half-moon fingertip before capturing its girth once more.
Her lashes veiled her sight momentarily as Saga whistled toward
her to focus her attention on the red-haired panther girl that
seemed to appear like a mirage. Had Tove been missing these
women by skirting the Northern brim for too long? Tove collected
the ebony knife in hand she had named Wolf that had been given
to her by Hrolf of Vegvisir. "I suppose he is right," she said,
her hip turning, and there, on the jut of her hip, laid The
Dancer's helm in brazen glory. The soulless two eyes stared back
at you, pleading for you to be its savior. "I will play your
game, Frode of Kassau. I will also take your knife," she said,
kicking up to her feet and offering her hand down to help a
gentleman to his feet. She was a true lady, after all.

the spirit it was given, coming to my feet in an even role. I
immediately begin stretching and limbering up, readying myself
for some shooting. "As I made the challenge, you can pick the
target. I would suggest one of the palm trees on the far end of
the beach so as to not do an undo risk to any who might emerge
from the forests." I unshoulder my longbow and grin as I await
your word on where we shoot. "You may also make the first shot."
I leave it unspoken, however, what prize I will demand should I
win.
Tove retrieved her bow, agreeing to the target suggested. They
were more narrow trunks than the Tur tree, so her marks would be
even more impressive at this distance when she could easily
clump three arrows together. It has been observed that Tove
possesses remarkable proficiency in archery and is highly
probable to emerge victorious in the ongoing game. She had her
own multicolored fletched arrows and several raven-fletched
arrows, which would not be used in this game. "Would you like to
go first? Show me how it's done?" she said politely, curious
about your bow skills. You didn't look like the archer type,
unlike the tall and athletic Tove.

says to ...All that Glitters... : I chuckle. "Oh, that is good.
I suspect there's very little I could teach you about using a
bow if you've survived this long in the Northern forests without
getting killed or collared." I offer a wink, but there is no
base flattery there, even if I do put a bit of my famous charm
in the wording. The fact of the matter is anyone who can survive
in the forest has to be tough. And women must be twice as
strong. I'm not exactly small myself, being 6'1", but I am on
the lean side, not quite as broad-shouldered as most Northmen.
Hrolf once said that if he was Thor in the flesh, as many have
commented, than I must be Loki. He meant it as a complement,
though most of his men took it as a jest at my expense. So no...
I don't look like much of an archer. But I can string my longbow
with no difficulty."I will take the first shot." I agree as I
sight the tree and narrow my gaze. With one fluid motion, I draw
the clothyard shaft from my back quiver, noch it and let it fly.
(Usual archery contest rules. Roll a d12. 1-10 mark how close
the arrow strikes the target. 11 is a bullseye. 12 is a complete
miss of the tree.)

Tove pulled forth one of her multicolored fletching with little
blue and purple sprinkles mixed. Tove swirled the arrow between
her longer fingers, spindling it back and forth before planting
her feet solidly to the earth, drawing her left arm upwards in
an arch that would land expertly into the tree trunk. At one
point, she had been Loki herself in Hrolf's village, setting it
aflame with her expert-like archery skills. Was she as good as
Keres? No, but she was an excellent shot after spending years at
the mercy of her shot. Tove licked her lip toward the crease of
her mouth and released the arrow with the breeze of the winds on
her side.

shifting? Maybe the tree was a bit too narrow? Maybe neither of

after we both completely miss the chosen target, there is a long
pause before arrows are retrieved and it is politely agreed (to
the amusement of the spectators) that that DID not just happen
and we will not speak of it again.

Tove rolls her shoulders back again, clearing her throat as she
feels a flush of embarrassment flush her cheeks as she misses
the first shot. Ok, yes, there was something about this tree she
didn't like, and she wasn't sure what it was. Instead of holding
up the game further, Tove expertly produced one arrow out at a
time until three were released triangularly.

Still, I hold by breath and wait for the wind to still before I

seems to govern my life more and more than I care to think
about. That first round seemed to suggest I hold the trickster's
attention. Hopefully he's rooting for me in this.

memorizing its uniqueness should it have any before she flicked
her eyes up toward you, holding out one of her hands as she
offered her hand to shake it like a good sportswoman. She went
and retrieved the arrows as she was the one who lost, and it was
typical of those that failed to retrieve the arrows. Her loss
may be in her favor, considering whoever left those marks in the
tur trees had a much better mark than she displayed.
"Congratulations Frode of Kassau," she said with a half-crooked
smile. Her expression softened as she respected the win and
documented your skill into her memory bank. She would not forget
this - ever.

"Let's hope that whatever you ask for is something I'm willing
not to stab you in the eye over, Frode of Kassau," she said as
she swept back her blonde hair, revealing the plump swells of
her breasts that remained fastened back by the tanned furs. Her
arms crossed before her body, emphasizing the swells of her
cleavage before she leaned forward, giving the helm a pat
indicating that she would not be parted with her most precious
treasure. However, the rest of her was littered with loot any
marauder would enjoy hefting over his shoulder and carrying
home. Her wrists bore gold bracelets; her arms were cuffed in
glittering gold, too. The only thing that did not seem fastened
with gold was her ears. She had acquired little pieces here and
there as she rampaged through the forest, looting to her
benefit.

appreciatively over all you have to display. I note the helm
with interest even before you seem to pull it away the moment
you sense my eyes on it. Lots of gold, aye, but none in the
ears, for only slaves and pirates have pierced ears and you are
neither. I'm starting to think you might be a danger on a ship
and my mate Malora would either love you as a lost sister or
you'd try to kill each other within two minutes. Thankfully, she
is not here, as I could only imagine what she would say about
this foolish trip and the even more foolish contest. Still, I
think there's one thing that might mollify her somewhat."You
know... I'm something of a collector myself. And it occurs to me
I've never taken the furs right off of a Panther before. I had
come here hoping to find some rare novelty to display in my shop
to lure in the customers. I think that would be novel
indeed...."
There was a moment of pause as she drifted up to the balls of
her feet, nearly matching your height as she stretched her 5'9"
frame and glanced down at her body, which was covered by some of
her favorite summer skins. Still, she had lost, and a bit of tan
could be replaced easily in the summer months, whereas in
winter, she would not part with the protection of the elements.
"A collector, I see," she said as she turned her hip away from
you and then squared back with her hands pressed against the
curve of the swells. "And tell me, Frode of Kassau, which piece
would you prefer?" she asked as her palms turned upwards,
offering you only two choices.

that you seem to enjoy showing off as much as I appreciate the

way you lean forward and strain your ample chest against the
skins, straining them to the breaking point. So naturally that
is what I will not choose. "Your skirt, I think, Tove of Thunder
Falls. If you please."
Tove's fingers played with the skirt strings that kept the skins
bound underneath the belt looped around the feminine curve of
her hips. The unlacing took no time at all, pulling the loops
free as she pulled forth the skirt, folded in hand, and held it
out to your hands as Tove of Thunder Falls canted one of her
knees to shift her weight from one leg to the other. That knee
that was bent pressed in toward her other knee, causing her hips
to drift aside. She was curious about the stories that would be
told about her skirt now that a bard owned it. "We are now even,
Frode of Kassau," she said, drifting past you, the curves of her
ass swaying underneath the loop of her belt that held Hrolf of
Vegvisir's dagger and the Dancer's helm that slapped against the
curve of her hip, seeming to still plead for its release even
though it was effortlessly close to the panther girl's marvelous
backside. "Good night," she said, needing to find her rest with
Saga somewhere in the brush.

displeased by the night's events."Indeed we are, Tove of Thunder
Falls. Unless you would like to go another round, double or
nothing?" I offer a lecherous grin out of form, but there is no
lust as I watch you walk off, shaking your hips defiantly, not a
bit of pride lost despite your defeat in the contest and the
prize I claimed. A part of me - that part I once heard an old
bard who trained me call the bump of trouble - warns me that she
won't forget this slight and while she might not be the one
responsible for the fires, she is still a Panther and she has
her pride. And my victory tonight wounded that pride. She is
unlikely to forget that. Nor am I. Still, she seems content to
part peacefully this night and so am I. Still, I get the feeling
our paths will cross again. One way or the other.
