says to ALL: It wasn't too difficult to figure out where my Mate
had gotten off to, since He wouldn't be in a tavern at this time
of day without a slave, and to my knowledge, Eris was still
aboard ship, looking a little green around the gills. Thus, I
had to assume He was in the cafe, most likely regaling someone
with song or story. While He can don the Captain's regalia, His
soul was still that of Skald, and I didn't argue with it. I
honestly liked it. If nothing else, (and there was MUCH else), I
was certainly entertained.

behind the veil. "Ah yes. The merchants are well known for being
the most lowly of castes, which is why they are trusted with the
management of the finance law between cities. " In truth, some
hold the Merchants as one of the most important of Castes and
there had been some talk of making them a sixth High Caste.
Little will come of it, I'm sure, for most Goreans are nothing
if not traditionalists and if Five High Castes was good enough
for your fathers and your fathers' fathers, then it is good
enough for you.

as the man arrived at his side. "Aww, now I'm feeling hurt. You
are getting all grumpy with me? I didn't do anything but let you
pick out your present for Soley and pay for it," He pointed out
to the man before handing the package over to him. "See, you're
welcome. I helped you out. Now you can be all 'I bought the
cloak!' Did you a fucking favor and you're glaring at me. I'll
get you some of that mead you like to make it up to you." He
smirked at the other and then turned back to what he was doing,
looking threw the selection of pretty baubles. "Fuck... I should
have brought Tegan." Though, if he'd brought her, he would have
wound up paying for everything, and at least this way, he didn't
have to pay. Yes, he was planning on making Sam pay for the
broch too, but he wouldn't let the man know that until he
realized that his coin purse was stolen later on today.

I headed into the cafe, hazel orbs sparkling and crimson mane
neatly coiled atop my head with a simple, single silver musical
note pin holding the curls in place. Clad as I was in black
leather leggings, boots, jerkin and cream colored blouse of
linen topped with the simple but elegantly cut black coat of a
sea Captain myself, I strode with my usual sauntering step
toward where You sat, taking my place at Your side as You speak
to the Lady of Merchant caste. "Tal my Captain."

His Companion thinking perhaps this was going to land Me some
kind of sale hearing that He was a Captain and if He were a
pirate which I anticipated then He would have in disposable
coin. Those violet orbs rose once again and listened to Him
speak about how He felt about My Caste and nodded again towards
Him..."You are quite kind to say Sir...I have owned many
business' and delt with much gold which is why I always wondered
why we were considered so low. Perhaps some day we will be
recognized..." nodding respectfully...."and yes that is why the
way I am My Father was a big traditionalist...He was quite upset
when I didn't carry on and be a Woman of the Warriors..." shakes
head..."I wouldn't be able to do it..."

and take in her walk with widening eyes. Many would call her
saunter unseemly. Of course many think women wearing leggings is
unseemly. I care little for such arguments however. My Mate
wears her garments well and I could make comments about what
else she wears well but there are Ladies present. I grin as she
takes the chair next to me, not daring to drape herself across
my shoulder for even a moment. Probably wise, but I do miss that
familiar gesture from better days. Still, I reach out and take
her hand under the table. "Tal to you, my Captain." I reply back
with a wink. "May I introduce Jena of Ar... a merchant of
jewelry whom I have not yet begun asking about her wares and
gifts for a certain woman who might need a bit more gold and
silver upon her person." Oh, that is a very private and very
naughty joke that......

said about any of that private joke. You'd get Yours later,
privately. Instead of reacting to Your jibe, I simply nod to the
Lady Merchant to whom I was being introduced, the gesture almost
haughty in its regal manner, but for the genuine warmth of the
smile that accompanies it. "Tal Lady Jena, I am High Captain
Malora of the Persephone's Fate. A pleasure to meet You." I did
not make mention of our Home, but rather the ship which Captain
Song and I co-own. To be fair, that ship is our Home most of the
time anyway.

look as well She was quite lovely in the way She was dressed a
little too outward for Me, but She had a Companion to make sure
She was safe I continued to make sure I did noting but the most
prim and proper as I had quite a lot to lose hearing Him speak
to Her and talk about Me being a jeweler and such I nodded
towards the Woman as She sat and spoke gently and slightly
muffled from the veil...."Tal to You Lady pleasure..." then
corrects Herself..."I mean Captain..." nodding...

outward appearance matched exactly my Caste, if you'd want to
call it that. Piracy wasn't exactly seen as a Caste, but it
didn't matter to me. I was well off, had an incredible Mate, and
a life that had been lived, and was continuing to be lived, to
the absolute. I was one of the rarities of Gor - a Woman who had
been blessed by the gods. You seemed a bit on the withdrawn
side, but that was common for a Lady who wanted to continue to
remain such. Even Merchant Women tended to be soft spoken,
though I wasn't completely sure as to why. Women could speak as
they pleased, being Free. But perhaps You simply chose to keep
Your cards hidden until it was time to play them. Smart. "You
are a jeweler? Do You have a specialty?"

Heh. Promises, promises.
I laugh at the correction and squeeze Mal's hand under the
table. Few couples are as demonstrative as us and we're being
remarkably restrained for us. I could comment upon her being as
much a Lady as she is a Captain, but she knows where I sleep.
Instead I just smile. "Lady Jena seemed to be in need of company
and since I had nothing to do but reminisce, I thought I might
try and amuse her." A sip of blackwine as I throw a glance at
Malora. She is right. For all my rapid rise in station and shift
in focus from singing to sailing I am still very much the Singer
at heart.

quite skilled...I also am able to value Gems and give
certificates. In regards to My specialties...I can make anything
and everything I can smelt gold and I have numerous molds that I
use and if I don't have a mold I can usually make it depending
on what it is...." feeling a bit confident....bowing head and

one on my hair pin." I turned my head to give the Jeweler a good
look at the quarter note that had been made to order by my
Captain a long time ago, cast in silver.

delicately decorative. Stud earrings, not hoops, though I may

design works out for us." I cant my head but don't look over at
the design until You're ready to show it. I have respect for
other artists work. "What would You charge for such a simple bit
of work?"

long time I have gold in a few different banks across the
Cities....I have really no need honestly for payment...I would
though like assistance transporting gems if need be safely
and/or gold. If I can get a contract written up with You perhaps
I can do this and then whatever else comes up for exchange?"
