Is sailing the green waters of the Thassa
says to ALL: We had left this morning with the tide, after
hurriedly packing a few things for the long trip North. I was
full of excitement and trepidation, truly not knowing what to
expect of this journey. But my discussion with Frode had made it
clear that the Isle was lacking a few things, and if nothing
else, this trip would help with that.
Only, it wasn't just trade that we were looking for. No, there
was so much more ahead of us. It seemed a fool's errand in some
ways, but to be honest, if there was anything that Frode and I
were good at, it was turning fool's errands into triumphs. Odin
knew well that we had not suffered a true defeat in our
adventures. Oh, we'd come close. We'd come close to disaster.
Somehow, whether by skill or just plain luck, or perhaps Loki's
influence, we had managed to survive and thrive.
As Frode's ship cut through Thassa and out of the the friendly
waters of the Isle, the shouts were heard to increase sail. Once
in the free waters, it was safe to sail at speed. As the sails
were unfurled and secured, I felt the ship picking up speed, and
I glanced at Pike, who had accompanied us on this trip. He set a
huge paw on my shoulder, as He always had. The Man who was my
First Mate aboard Persephone's Fate, and who had been there
every step of the way in my life in one way or another, still
stood proudly with me at my left side as I leaned against the
rails of the Crimson Corsair's prow.

Is sailing the green waters of the Thassa
says to ALL: I sighed as Thassa's stinging salt water spray
coursed over me. The sea was in my blood. Almost literally. I
was born to this Caste, though most didn't recognize it as such.
But whether society recognized it or not, Pirates were
everywhere. Some of them chose to keep their affiliation with
the Caste a secret, some chose to flaunt it. And while it wasn't
all I knew how to do, it was my birthright. I felt more at home
on Thassa than I did anywhere else.
Yet this was no pleasure cruise. Nor were we on our way to
plunder. No, instead we were in search of a specific place, one
that hinted at more viability than the Isle itself. Truth be
told, I wasn't sure if this was a good idea. No matter, though,
we were already underway and any worries and concerns I had
would either bear fruit or fade into nothingness by the end of
the journey. Still, I kept my eyes on the horizon, still dark
under cover of the early morning's pre-dawn. The seas were calm
and the skies clear which would make for a beautiful, if
horribly hot, day ahead. This I took as a boon. The hope was
that each day of our trip was as nice, though I knew full well
that the closer we came to our destination, the more volatile
the weather could be. Warm waters meeting cooler waters brought
       storms. We would be watchful.

Is sailing the green waters of the Thassa
says to ALL: I had yet to actually sleep, preferring to rest
during the hot daytime hours rather than the cooler night. It
was an adjustment made on the Isle, where the days shimmered
with waves of unyielding heat and the nights were actually cool
and comfortable. Self-preservation and all of that, especially
since I had the pale skin that went along with the crimson mane.
Sunburns were easily had and incredibly painful. I knew from
       experience.
I also knew from experience that cooler climates didn't fry me
nearly as badly as the jungle climate of the Isle. For that I
was exceedingly grateful. But even now in the predawn hours, I
could feel the oncoming heat. I would go to bed soon. Until
then, though, I would continue to stand at the prow, hazel eyes
scanning both water and horizon, as I'd done my entire life.
"Wha' be tha trubble, lass?" Pike's gravelly voice was quiet and
low, holding curious concern for me. I'd been first His ward,
then His tormentor, then His worry and now His Captain. He had
seen me at my highest and my lowest, and was always there,
sometimes quietly, sometimes in hiding, sometimes loudly and
sometimes, when the situation warranted it, violently. But He
had always been there, supporting and championing me and my
       ludicrous life.
"Just a lot to think about, Pike," came my response. "I know
where we're going but not what we're walking into."
