       Isdybal
By: Zria Date: September 7, 2019, 6:52 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       - How did you learn about the Sixty Thieves?
I am currently in the guild on my troll, Zria.
       - What is your character's name and race?
       Isdybal Sirnitel, a nightborne.
       - Why do you and your character seek to join the Sixty Thieves?
Let’s start with me. I seek to join Sixty on Isdybal for several
reasons. The more my main thief has progressed as a character
and within the guild, the more she has acquired to lose and the
more weight she carries on her shoulders. For me, this would be
a chance to not only try a different approach to how Zria works,
but also give me the chance to RP with the guild and within the
Sixty Thieves’ theme in times where Zria simply is not in a
state to face the world. Furthermore, it gives me a chance to
take a step back towards when I first joined the guild, getting
the possibility to build new relations with strangers of various
       walks of life.
As for my character, she seeks the thieves as she believes they
can offer what she is looking for. I’ll elaborate on this in the
       next section*
       - Tell us about your character's background and how they
       became/are becoming a criminal
Isdybal, born in Suramar to a instrument-maker and a performer.
She did not grow up amongst the nobles or wealthy, but she did
not have to want for much either. Given her parents professions,
it only became natural for her to learn how to either craft or
play one or several instruments, the latter of which she ended
up pursuing. She was a girl with a dream, wishing to one day
walk the world she could only read about from home. She realized
that braving the world, should it ever be possible for her,
would require a few things.. skills to survive being the most
important. As a result, being able to perform on the instruments
she grew up around, as well as writing her own songs, would be
the first step of this. The world on paper was no safe haven
either, so the means to protect herself would come next in line.
Finding a soldier around her age to exchange poetry or music for
fighting lessons was not the hardest thing she ever had to do,
but to her misfortune, the Legion decided to come visit before
she ever really became a force to be reckoned with. The invasion
hit everyone hard, and having no influence nor pull with those
in power, lead to her family sharing the fate of many
unfortunate souls, killed for whatever malicious plot the Legion
saw fit to force over the people of Suramar.
Many nights of fear and terror later, the city would be
liberated, leaving Isdybal with nothing worth remaining for, but
a world to see. She left, like many others, for Orgrimmar with
nothing to her name, save for the flute she had kept with her
since leaving her home the day the invasion had started.
A thing worth mentioning is that Isdybal had a few problems
discerning between what belonged to others and what belonged to
her, whilst growing up. This did lead to a few awkward
situations back before everything turned to death and demons,
but it was never worse than something that could be settled with
an apology. However, since arriving in Horde lands with nothing
but lint in her pockets, it slowly turned out that on nights
where a song did not offer enough tips, taking them herself from
sleeping or drunk patrons was not always as much of a challenge
as you’d assume. While not an expert pickpocket, she certainly
never found a problem in trying. Sure, she’s had to talk her way
out of a few beatings or a night in the cold, while also having
had to experience the consequence of when those talks go awry.
*To get to why she would seek the thieves, as I promised I would
touch upon earlier. The world suddenly gets very big, and
travelling outside the comfort of Durotar and Orgrimmar on your
own two feet has proven to be something of an eye opener.
Isdybal wants adventure, but she certainly also wants a sense of
security. When she started hearing whispers in the taverns
regarding a gang who takes in folks from all walks of life, her
curiosity, as it always had, dismissed any notion her kin
oftentimes have of superiority over other races.
       - What kind of skills does your character have?
Isdybal is first and foremost a bard. She can play a variety of
instruments to quite an impressive degree, even though she only
has a flute as it stands currently.
Due to a year or two worth of training, she has learned a few
basics regarding close quarters combat. Enough to deal with a
drunkard or thug, but not enough to contest an experienced
       fighter.
Additionally, she can read and write Shalassian, Orcish and
       Common.
       - How powerful is your character?
She’s more cocky than she is strong. While she’s not one to
openly provoke a fight, if she believes she’ll have a chance,
she’ll likely try her luck. For a frame of reference, if
compared to my current thief, Zria. Isdybal would be quite a lot
more capable in a fight than Zria is, while still being likely
to have her rear offered to her if she got in a fight with a
       trained soldier.
       She knows no magic.
       - How would you define conflict in RP, and how do you feel about
       consequences?
Conflict in RP is a situation where a friction arises between
two or more characters. Be it due to insult, misunderstanding,
violence, theft, murder.. any situation that would cause a
negative reaction from the other party.
To tie this into consequences, I believe that you should never
let your character put themselves in conflict, if you are
unwilling to accept what comes as a result. You insult someone?
They might hit you. They might beat you down. Steal from
someone? You might get caught, beaten, arrested. Do something
heinous enough and you might just get yourself in a position
where people will want to take your life. In order to engage in
this sort of RP, it is vital that you accept the consequences
that don’t stifle the narrative. If you don’t want your
character to get hurt in a world of criminals? I suggest you dig
a hole and stay quiet, hoping someone drops coin into it without
       wanting it back.
Ultimately, as with Zria, I accept any consequence that might
befall my character, provided it makes sense to the narrative.
       - What would your character's nickname be?
Good question! Considering her profession, perhaps something
such as “Tone”, “Note” or “String” would suit her.
       - Anything else you'd like to share about your character or
       yourself?
Not really, no. Anything else about my character is left for IC!
       - Story or IC letter (optional)
A lone nightborne left the Barrens entrance of Orgrimmar, moving
her way south towards a rumourfilled port town, believed to host
what she went there to seek. She looked out of place as she
travelled, musing a forming song under her breath
“From city to dust, dirt and sun,
Surely I can’t be the only one,
Hoping for a spot of rain,
Relieve my eyes of the sun’s burning pain.
       Crazy? I must be batshiit,
For travelling on my own to Ratchet."
(The two i's are intentional.. the forum censored the 1
       i-version to "kodopoop")

       Why hello there.. stranger.
Thanks for the effort put into this app, it was a fun read!
There are no questions regarding the character, so all there is
is for Isdybal to find the thieves whenever you are ready, to
then announce her wishes to join, and.. RP will dictate from
       there!
