- How did you learn about the Sixty Thieves?
This is a long story, and by now, hardly necessary to spell out.
So, let's save some time.
- What is your character's name and race?
Enyzabel Haverlock, Forsaken.
- Why do you and your character seek to join the Sixty Thieves?
She needs a way to make money, because she's got someone to look
after. And also because diamonds are a girl's best friend.
- Tell us about your character's background and how they
became/are becoming a criminal
The character's history is long, but I'll try to summarize it.
In life, she provided for her little sister after their mother
passed away. As fate would have it, she herself then became
ailed by an incurable disease. The Light couldn't help, and
Light also had bigger things to worry about, such as the Cult of
the Damned's influence spreading across the land. That same
influence touched Enyzabel, as well. She began to learn of the
Shadow and Fel, to find ways to sustain herself in the face of
her inevitable demise that would leave her baby sister all alone
in the unfair world.
Several, several years later, Enyzabel is a Forsaken with
knowledge of the Shadow and warlock magics to sustain herself.
She believes that the powers she sought to control have taken
her baby sister. They've enhanced her own body, and continue to
do so, but in exchange she occasionally needs to fulfill their
requests. These requests are communicated through visions, or in
a stranger approaching, or in patterns etched out in shady
crevaces where no one else seems to notice them.
- What kind of skills does your character have?
An accomplished pickpocket with past history of stealing since
her early teens, Enyzabel has since acquired a vast knowledge of
forbidden lore. Unfortunately, she remembers only bits and
pieces due to her past of belonging to the Scourge, and because
the Great Beings have altered her. She's lost some parts of
herself, and sometimes gives away more, but then has also gained
power and, most of all, has transcended death. In practice, this
means that her pickpocketing and fighting results can be as
haphazard as a roll of a die - which they are essentially based
on, due to community's preference.
Enyzabel completely lacks social skills. She drives away others
from her and usually behaves unpredictably in social situations.
She might laugh at the wrong time, or get angry over something
the speaker didn't intend. She's long since given up on trying
to get across to others, and prefers solitude. Usually when
interacting with others, it's only with hostility and spiteful
remarks. However, she may engage in long and fruitful debates
with herself. She also will still protect others, in spite of
keeping a very convincing appearance that she doesn't care.
She also knows that she lives on a borrowed time. There's only
so much she can do until the madness of the powers gripping her
will take over completely. She will stop at nothing to save her
baby sister from the same fate, however.
- How powerful is your character?
Enyzabel is intended as a slightly more powerful character than
an average thief. The aim is to fit her into the magic bruiser
category, where she's able to tank hits and deal damage, as well
as heal herself from wounds. She's been completely designed for
high risk, aggressive conflict roleplay, with pickpocketing,
kidnappings, armed robbery and burglary in mind. The trade off
for the power is her poor social skills and the fact she's not
likely a long-lived character. I would compare her to Witch,
Glory and Grin in this regard.
Also, her power can increase and decrease temporarily, with how
much of herself she's ready to trade away - either permanently
or temporarily - for a given aim. This often results in
increased antisocial and downright odd behavior - sometimes
Enyzabel could swear she's also sprouting tentacles for a brief
time, even if no one else can see them. This lets me trade
social consequences and adjust the power level of the character
to keep it at the sweet spot that doesn't make her too weak, but
also doesn't make a monster that would break the guild's
narrative.
- How would you define conflict in RP, and how do you feel about
consequences?
This character is intended to cause drama - of the good kind.
She'll push others' buttons, will cause hostility but on her
saner days will try to make amends. She'll think of the good of
others, but her baby sister comes first. She'll also sometimes
go on quests when the powers controlling her ask her to, which
explains her absences from roleplay and subsequent returns, when
I have the time to pick her up again.
She's also intended to engage with the community and I'll try to
be clear OOC'ly to everyone that I don't endorse the character's
actions and am rather out there to provide people chances to
shine against this antagonist. Enyzabel is intended to have
credible motives for her evil, and to question what is
condemnable and what isn't in an environment of people walking
outside the boundaries of law.
Because pickpocketing, robbery and similar activities make very
little coin for the high risk involved, I feel it takes a
special kind of character to actually keep pushing them, rather
than just selling from the guild's bloated stock.
- What would your character's nickname be?
Rue. Continuing the line of 'What does your name even mean?'.
- Anything else you'd like to share about your character or
yourself?
I can see the potential problem that the character turns out to
be too aggressive. The intent isn't to make anyone feel bad OOC,
and I'll try to be very careful with that, but if it ends up
happening then the character will meet their end sooner rather
than later. She isn't created to last, she's created to make a
lasting impact!

Hello again!
There are no questions that spring to mind which couldn't be
figured out via RP in later stages of the initiation process.
Get in touch with you-know-who to arrange a time for an IC
meet-up!
Approved!
