Application: Wix the Vicious
By: Tact Date: April 19, 2019, 3:14 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
How did you learn about the Sixty Thieves?
- I learned about the Sixty Thieves in 2007, when I saw some
members of the guild roleplaying in Silvermoon. I gathered the
courage to apply in 2008, and, well... the rest is history.
What is your character's name and race?
- Wixles Shortshanks, a goblin rogue (OOC name Wixles,
respectively).
Why do you and your character seek to join the Sixty Thieves?
- Wixles has ran into trouble a few times too many back in his
hometown Gadgetzan. Thus, he has become well known to the local
law enforcement, to the point at which he's constantly monitored
and often among the first few names in the list of prime
suspects for all sorts of petty crimes committed within the town
walls. He was recently released from prison after a lengthy
sentence, and now seeks new territories to operate in. As for
myself, I thought of throwing in a new alt while Ox remains
missing for the foreseeable future in his search for the bottom
of every bottle in every tavern.
Tell us about your character's background and how they
became/are becoming a criminal
- Wixles' father was an inconsequential man and a heavy gambler.
With his mother out of the picture (for reasons never explained
to him), he spent his childhood in sorry conditions, observing
his father's fluctuating luck and wealth at the casinos; wealth
of which Wixles was allowed only a fraction, just enough to
survive. Surely enough, a particularly unlucky day would
eventually befall on his father, resulting in a spiral of debts
he could never hope to recover from, and which ultimately led to
his demise. With no-one left to fend for Wixles, the young
goblin took to the streets. He had already spent most his life
in questionable company due to his father, so he was quick
enough to befriend people for whom he could work.
What kind of skills does your character have?
- Wixles drifted into an increasingly lawless life since the
death of his father, starting off as an intel-gatherer and
pickpocket, and then evolving into an extorter and street
robber. For a short period of time, he was also making a bit of
a name for himself at the local brawling ring, taking on the
street name "Wix the Vicious", and even fighting against a
certain member of the Sixty Thieves during the gang's visit in
Gadgetzan a year or two back. He has also in part followed in
his father's footsteps, spending some time at the gambling
table. However, he has not been particularly lucky with it.
How powerful is your character?
- Wixles is fairly fit physically and has some experience in
combat (hand-to-hand combat, especially), but is by no means a
'powerful' character.
How would you define conflict in RP, and how do you feel about
consequences?
- Conflict in RP can refer to any disagreement, violence, or
otherwise offensive move against another character. What comes
to how I feel about consequences, I shall quote myself:
"Roleplaying a criminal is very heavily focused on creating and
managing conflicts with other characters, and no conflict comes
without consequence. Every criminal roleplayer should be of the
mindset that the longer they continue on the path of crime, the
more notorious they will become and the more enemies they will
make, increasing the likelihood of getting caught and being
brought to justice." I accept all consequences, granted that the
opposing party is reasonable OOC.
What would your character's nickname be?
- Beast.
Anything else you'd like to share about your character or
yourself?
- Wixles is somewhat of an experiment. Since my characters have
a tendency of becoming increasingly cautious over time, I felt
like applying with a hardwired risk-taker. If I lose interest or
don't have the time to invest in him, however, I'll remove him
from the guild.
