       Meezaz's Application
By: lil yoshi Date: March 22, 2019, 5:44 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       - How did you learn about the Sixty Thieves?
First and foremost, I first discovered about the Sixty Thieves
back when I was an active roleplayer in Booty Bay. I saw some of
the members passing by here and there but never really
interacted with them. Then, later on, as I became a member of
the Queen's Gambit and we had several meetings with each other,
I became more interested. Finding out the concept behind the
guild through the forums and what I heard from other members
that I slowly befriended, I became dedicated into making an
application to join the guild. Shame that it took so long as I
also discovered that I had some older friends within the Sixty
       Thieves.
       - What is your character's name and race?
       Meezaz Fizzlecrank the Goblin.
       - Why do you and your character seek to join the Sixty Thieves?
I personally seek an active and dedicated guild that puts time
in what they do - something more serious for a change. As I said
up above, the more I learned about the guild (the concept behind
it, the people within, the amount of effort put forth into the
Sixty Thieves), the more interested I became. Now, to the fun
       part; the character!
Meezaz has been a traveling Goblin and has been stealing and
scamming around for a while on his own now. Lately, he's been
feeling like he could use something more, or put his skills to a
bigger test if anything else. Joining a similar minded
collective would offer him this chance, and if that's not a good
excuse, then we should also take into account that by now Meezaz
has become a very lonely Goblin in search for some company.
       - Tell us about your character's background and how they
       became/are becoming a criminal
Meezaz was a son to a greedy father running a cement mixing
company and a mother who was a wench to the local Kezan's
brothel. Needless to mention that his father and mother were
separated from each other the majority of the time and no real
quality time had been spent between the family members. His
father decided when Meezaz turned seven that he was old enough
to work and thus he put his son up for employment in his cement
mixing company. One day, after Meezaz had worked there for a few
days already, he messed up and spilled a major batch of cement
that he was responsible for. This caused the little Goblin to
get fired. From there on out, he did job after job after job but
always ended up getting fired because of his clumsiness. As a
result, his father disowned him, and with no reason left to
stick with his mother, they also split up. So... Meezaz packed
his bags of almost no belongings and set out to travel all
across Azeroth. Doing odd jobs here and there - and obviously
failing due to his inability to keep everything smooth - he
found himself stranded in a forest while starving and
dehydrated. While roaming the woods, he suddenly found a
sleeping traveler pretty much akin to himself, but his
desperation forced him with a thumping heart going wild in his
chest like a baseball hit with a bat, a trinkle of sweat
dropping from his forehead to his chin, and a very shaky hand,
to steal from the sleeping man. With a sudden confidence boost
at his success (even though he was lucky because in truth, the
man had been drinking the night before and by no means would
ever wake up) he started doing it more and more and gradually
picked up a new skill which later on turned into an addiction.
An addiction to chase the thrill.
       - What kind of skills does your character have?
He would be extraordinarily good at lifting a purse of coin with
his defty fingers due to the amount of times he'd done it. Not
only that but as time past, and he came across several smaller
looking chests every so often, he picked up some tools along the
way with his stolen coin and used this to self tutor him in the
arts of lock picking. Needless to say, he would be no master in
it but at least good enough to pick basic locks and - with given
time and effort - some advanced locks.
       - How powerful is your character?
Completely useless with any ranged based weapons, although
knowing how to wield a dagger or a sword and swing it around
here and there, he really isn't that strong. If anything, he
avoids a fight at all cost if he can. He can throw around his
fists with confidence as he's had to do so in the past sometimes
but he's by no means a professional brawler or experienced
       fighter.
       - How would you define conflict in RP, and how do you feel about
       consequences?
I think conflict is for the majority defined by how well the
parties involved communicate. By asking questions such as "Are
you alright with said injury? If not, what are you alright
with?" can you get a mile ahead and avoid any problems or
unhappy parties. Personally speaking, I'll accept any
consequences so long as they're justifiable. For example, of my
character does something to upset one or multiple people to such
a degree that warrants death, I'll accept it. In my opinion,
actions have consequences, and based on the degree of your
actions certain consequences should just be accepted. I
understand, though, if not everyone shares this mindset.
       - What would your character's nickname be?
       Score
       - Anything else you'd like to share about your character or
       yourself?
Nothing much in all honesty. Perhaps I should throw it out there
that some of you may know me as Erick from the Queen's Gambit
since I'm using a different username on the forums than my
       discord name.
       - Story or IC letter (optional)
I'll leave that open for now because there's a lot of ways that
I can see my Goblin joining or perhaps you guys have some good
       ideas at some point.

Hey there, and apologies for the wait!
There's one question that springs to my mind, as it looks like
there is some inconsistency with the character based on the
application. Could you to go into a little more depth on how the
character progressed to become an excellent pickpocket,
overcoming the clumsiness that riddled his past?
Hope to hear back from you soon!

       No problem, no problem!
You know how sometimes you have this kid that's pretty much
clumsy at everything he does? No matter what he tries, no matter
how many times he tries; the result always stays the same and
that's failing. This usually puts that kid down and makes him
feel bad about himself while in reality, it's just because he
messed up the first few times which made him feel like the next
attempts he gave a shot would inevitably end up in failure as
well. At that point, it has nothing to do with being skillful or
good at what you do, it has to do with that shaky hand because
in the back of your head you know you'll mess up again anyway.
What Meezaz went through was exactly that. Due to the pressure
of his father, and how he was pretty much raised, failure was
not tolerated. This made him nervous and ended up in him
overthrowing the cement mixer during his first job which only
made him panic further and from that point on his failure was
written in stone. Now, when he ventured out into the world on
his own, and that feverous night of starvation and dehydration
came into place, he succeeded by mere luck. The traveler he came
across was a drunk and wouldn't have woken up even if Meezaz
decided to take a leak on his face. He didn't know that, though,
so for the first time in forever he felt like he succeeded at
something and that gave him a confidence boost. With his father
no longer lurking over Meezaz's shoulder and breathing down his
neck, watching his every move, he felt a surge of success spike
and he figured it was because the legitimate jobs his father
time after time got him didn't work out for him. It was the
pickpocketing and thieving which became his skillset. After the
first traveler, he started pickpocketing others and gradually
started taking risks here and there. Granted, in the beginning,
he got caught a few times which made the little goblin run all
over the place and stuff, but after time he started picking up
       the tricks of the trade.
It was more of a psychological wall that was blocking Meezaz's
potential. He could've been a great trader, he could've been a
great cement mixer, or anything for that matter, but he didn't
because of those eyes burning through the back of his head while
he was growing up. It was that night, though, where he -had- to
steal to survive that got him where he is now. He believes that
he's an excellent thief and he doesn't mourn over the fact that
he could've been something else; instead, he takes pride in his
       current way of living.

Hey again, and thanks for clearing that up!
I have no further questions to ask, so I'll say: Approved!
Give us a poke in-game to arrange for an IC initiation!
