Application, "Father" Jakjal
By: Hushslumber Date: March 1, 2019, 10:35 am
---------------------------------------------------------
How did you learn about the Sixty Thieves?
- I learnt from roleplaying with them in Booty Bay, I was gonna
recruit my Pandaren, but I didnt have a good feel for her, so I
race changed her. But now that I have my troll, I feel alot more
confident!
What is your character name and race?
- Jakjal is his name, both ICly and OOCly, and he's a male
troll.
Why do you want to join Sixty Thieves?
- I wish to join because I've always been interested in this
guild, as I said before, my Pandaren was accepted, but I truly
did not have a good time roleplaying as her, but I really do
with this character, because I find him unique. But his guild
really is awesome, in my opinion. And I wish to contribute!
How did your character become a criminal?
- Jakjal became a criminal first when he was young, he used his
charisma to steal and lie his way foward. He made and dealt
different types of drugs, such as dusts and mushrooms. He also
had a cult for a long time, alot of people devoted to him, they
would steal for him and kidnapp for him, all because of his
lies. He said he was close to "God", which was a complete lie,
but his charisma and cunning got him to where he was. Now
though, he's a Loa Priest, as he has reformed from his cult
lifestyle. But he still mainly deals in drugs and other illegal
things, such as stealing and lying.
What kind of skills do your character have?
- Jakjal is a Loa Priest, or so he claims. He can supposedly
talk to Lukou the healing Loa, aswell as heal others. He's also
very skilled in making drugs and potions. But other than that,
he's kind of useless. He's old, and very delusional, and a bit
insane.
How powerful is Jakjal?
- Not very powerful at all, I suppose his worship to Lukou can
be a bit powerful, but nothing OP. He's also skilled in drugging
people, but nothing OP about that either.
How do you define conflict RP, and how do you feel about
consequences?
- I adore conflict RP, it's like a challenge. If a character
gets hurt, it gives so much more excitement to RP, like
something actually happens, other than just standing and
talking. Consequences are the same, I mean. Jakjal has been
stabbed several times by different characters, and almost died
at one point. I didnt mind at all, as it was extremely exciting!
So I really like conflict RP!
What would your nickname be?
- I hope his name can be "Father". As Jakjal was called that in
his cult.
Anything else you would like to add about your character or
yourself?
- Jakjal is a bit insane, take it with a grain of salt.
Thank you for reading, and I hope I'll get accepted!

Hey there, thanks for taking the time to write -another-
application!
A few immediate questions that come to mind:
- You mentioned a past cult that lies in Jakjal's history - what
was the purpose of it, what it was about, and how big was it?
What sort of lies did he tell people, and how/what was it that
caused those lies to be believed? Silver tongue?
Magic-influence? Gullible audience?
- How powerful are his abilities as a Loa priest, and what would
you say are the most powerful/strongest abilities he can cast?
- Why did he get people to kidnap others for him, and what was
done with those that were kidnapped?
We're mostly interested to know to get a further idea of his
skillset based on what he has already successfully done, and get
to really know what powers he has, even if he doesn't show them
off much on the current RP scene.
Thanks!
And just a reminder: We have an influx of applications, hence
the slow responses.

First and third question: Jakjal had a cult about him, and his
believe in a "God" that did not exist at all. The Cult had
around 20 members, and his followers were mostly homeless and
drug addicts, The cultists were totally devoted to him, did
whatever he asked for. The kidnapped people were turned into
cultists themselves thanks to drugs and a silver-tongue. He told
lies that God would bless them all, save them from the
apocalypse that would strike Azeroth in the near future. Which
was a total lie.
Second question: His powers as a Loa Priest ain't that strong.
He can heal people and bless them with Lukou's love. He can do
some minor stuff like levitate a bit over the ground, he can
apparently foresee the future, which could be a lie. And he can
cook good food. But other than that, he's kind of useless.
Thanks for the reply though! And I hope this answered your
questions!

Hi Jakjal! Thank you for the application! We were very much
looking forward to meeting your pandaren, but I understand that
sometimes, some concepts just don't grip you as much as you
hoped they would. I have some questions of my own that I'd like
to ask, as a response to your answers and the initial
application.
1) The Thieves have had their fair share of insane characters,
and have learned at this point that they can sometimes be too
much of a risk to take on board. This isn't something that will
effect your application (as we'd see it in the interview to
assess, and IC is IC) but if you could give a brief description
of how insane he is, that may help us make a thorough
assessment. Is he of a volatile type of insanity, or more in the
term of an old, senile man?
2) Though you answered briefly as to his priestly powers, I'd
like to know the extent of his healing. Are we talking the
healing of minor injuries, or is he able to instantly heal
broken bones and the likes? A general indication of power scale
would be lovely.
3) As you mention he can apparently see the future, is this a
definite, or a lie? As it may prove to be too overpowered for us
if it is the truth, though we can make our assumptions it's not,
it's something I'd prefer to ask beforehand to clarify!

1) He's truly not that insane, to be honest. He's just a bit...
Old and senile. But nothing that will ruin RP! Dont'cha worry!
2) His healing is just for minor wounds, nothing grand. He can
heal sickness aswell, like the common cold and that stuff, and
also remove poison. But nothing like healing bones, and the
such.
3) His future seeing is a total lie, he cant see into the future
at all. He just likes to lie about it.
Thank you for still replying!

Thanks a lot for all the responses, Jakjal, they are very much
appreciated! And as the officers have no further questions that
cannot wait for the RP scene...
Approved!
As I've said on other applications that you may have spotted, we
do have a large line of awaiting newbies, and you're thus
positioned at the back, for now. We are currently stationed in
Booty Bay, but before next week is over, we would have
(attempted to) returned to Orgrimmar and the surrounding area.
Usually it'd be easiest to already meet up and talk to your
character about potential jobs, given Jakjal and Sixty are in
Booty Bay - and this certainly can happen! However, any
discussion of partnership or however it is Jakjal comes to
approaching Sixty, will be vague and without any official
conclusion, just for the OOC sake of the applicants that applied
before you, which I hope is understandable! -.. before I baffle
on too long, I'll let you ponder, and you can always contact an
officer (Thalindor, Laerynna, Kaziik, Chíel) in game to discuss
such thoughts!
