Karama On'tonte - Application.

How did you learn about the Sixty Thieves?
Forums/Argent Archives/Prior contact. I wrote some threads about
criminality on Argent Dawn, chatted about the topic, a few of
your members posted and I found their responses insightful, so I
remember you guys!
What is your character's name and race?
Ontonte OOC. Karama On'tonte IC.
Why do you and your character seek to join the Sixty Thieves?
Consistent role-play, growth, a sense of community, to challenge
myself (and others).
What is your character's background like and how did they
become/are becoming a criminal?
I have a 15,000 word document describing where Karama came from
(weird flex, I kno'). He originated in a DM'd a campaign I led
in the Barrens with two other guilds. The two guilds could focus
on an Orc faction I'd designed, a Tauren faction, or the Trolls.
By and large, they focused their efforts on the Trolls, which
led to Karama's family being wiped out. His character received
so much exposition during the event that I thought, fuck it,
let's role him. He's not a criminal, per-say, but given that
he's a Troll he can be pretty unscrupulous.
What kind of skills does your character have?
... Basic ones. Strong combatant, though not especially
"powerful." Easily manhandled by an Ogre/Tauren in close
quarters, for example, but can hold his own in most situations.
Hunting/tracking/cunning. He's very good at manipulating people,
or inspiring confidence, and knows "some" hexes, summons and
intermediate voodoo-styled "spells" (I'd call them rituals,
though, as they require prior-preparation.)
How powerful is your character?
Short-term, he is what he is: a Troll with some tricks up his
sleeves and a couple steel weapons. ... Long-term? Sure, he's a
threat. He's supposed to feel intimidating when he's in the
room, someone you wouldn't and shouldn't fuck with. ... But
Karama doesn't throw his weight around. So, it's a case of he
"could" cause an upset, but he usually doesn't. A deterrent to
foes and reassurance to friends. TL;DR: It's wiser not to cross
him and he doesn't tread on people's toes.
How would you define conflict in RP, and how do you feel about
consequences?
Conflict is an opportunity for growth. Karama is one of those
characters who will speak up and not back down when his values
are threatened, which usually promotes constructive,
debate-driven conflict (which I find very entertaining,
enjoyable and sometimes breathtaking when properly played out).
The only time I'm not open to consequences and conflict in
role-playing is when I feel I'm feeding someone's OOC ego by
responding to their attempts. This' most common in a random
role-player I've never met getting overly aggressive with my
character for the sake of drama, off the back of boredom, in
which case I usually "retreat" from that session politely and
respectfully, rather than entertaining it.
What would your character's nickname be?
Karama has been called "Elder" by an acquaintance of his,
because she is aware of his heir-status. It suits his
personality too, he's intimidating, wise, and usually relaxed.
He doesn't rile easy and enjoys mediating situations.
Anything else you'd like to share about your character or
yourself?
I copied Vyr's template to do this, and I can only agree with
his statement: "I am a strong believer of what happens IC should
stay IC, and OOC should stay OOC, but of course situational
exceptions could always be made."
Story or IC letter (optional)

Thanks for so hastily writing an application!
The IC is almost accounted for and the application doesn't
disappoint.
No questions until further RP.
