       Bonnie Little Application
By: Lamb Date: November 13, 2018, 4:16 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       - How did you learn about the Sixty Thieves?
I've known about the guild for quite a while now, going on a few
years, but I've only recently had the pleasure of roleplaying
with some of the guild (shout outs to Zria, Chiel and Kaziik for
some great interactions!) and it, along with being shown the
forum, inspired me to jump back into the banditry scene.
       - What is your character's name and race?
Bonnie Little, an undead human from Kul Tiras.
       - Why do you and your character seek to join the Sixty Thieves?
It's been a long while since I last roleplayed in the
thieves/banditry area, and the last time I did was under the
Brigands on Alliance. I enjoyed the roving aspect of the
roleplay, moving from place to place and playing a character at
the bottom of their proverbial barrel which is pretty different
to what I normally play. I enjoyed the theme and style, the
people and the development that inevitably comes with it and
it's excellent grounds to build a character from the ground up.
Bonnie, on the other hand, doesn't know the Thieves exist. What
Bonnie does know is that there has to be somewhere out in the
open world where she can feel at home and get back into her
comfort zone, but the current worldly state doesn't provide much
opportunity. What she's looking for is a family or community
that she can rely on, and somewhere that she can show her worth
       despite all appearances.
       - Tell us about your character's background and how they
       became/are becoming a criminal
Raised by a crew of pirates that discovered the girl one stormy
night, Bonnie has lived a life of crime since she was very
young. Now separated from her adopted family, Bonnie is more
than willing to rely on the tricks and skills she acquired as
part of the crew to make a living in a new world fraught with
       danger and uncertainty.
       - What kind of skills does your character have?
Having been raised by pirates, Bonnie has a knack for most
things nautical. She knows how to fix the rigging, trim the
sails and read a compass. She knows what coves are best to fish
in, and isn't bad in a rowboat. Having been raised by pirates,
Bonnie also knows a thing or two about swashbuckling,
hornswoggling and drinking. Due to her small stature, though,
she's always favoured the gun over close quarters combat and is
proficient at maintaining and using her trusty weapon in a tight
       spot.
       - How powerful is your character?
Bonnie is, by all accounts, only human. Thanks to being undead
she's possessed of enduring stamina and strength, but is doomed
to never actually become any more physically able than she is
now - which is only so much to begin with. She knows how to
handle herself in a fight, but any professional soldier would
more likely than not have a relatively easy time dispatching her
in a fight. Bonnie relies on blowing people away from afar when
she absolutely has to pull the trigger, and without her gun she
has a limited capacity to defend herself.
She's also weak to being sat on.
       - How would you define conflict in RP, and how do you feel about
       consequences?
Any situation where two people don't see eye to eye (IC or OOC)
which leads to a conflict of interests. This could be physical
between the two characters or purely verbal.
Consequences in roleplay is just another part of roleplay and
one I've exercised more often than I perhaps should. On more
than one occasion have my characters stepped into situations
that have gotten them in trouble or, at worst, killed, and it's
just another part of playing in an ever-changing and organic
world. If my character makes a mistake and it gets her put in
the ground, that's just how things are - I may be upset about it
depending on the circumstances, but it just means I need to do
better next time! That being said it isn't my place to impose
the same consequences or standards on other people, and I can
only expect people to do the right thing based on what they want
       for their character and themselves.
       - What would your character's nickname be?
Lamb, because I have the character name and I'll be damned if
       I'm not using it!
Also because it has some deeper meaning for Bonnie herself.
       - Anything else you'd like to share about your character or
       yourself?
Bonnie is a newly raised undead and doesn't really know where
she is or what she's doing. She has a deeper backstory that I'd
like to explore during roleplay and really pay homage to the
aspects of her past life that'll be making appearances in
roleplay every now and then. I'm looking forward to developing
the character from the ground up and introducing her into a
foreign and downright scary world so that I can build her up
brick by brick - and potentially knock her right down again if
       it comes to that.
As mentioned above, I've roleplayed in this theme before and
I've history playing with some members of this guild as part of
the Brigands on Alliance. Fundamentally I like storytelling and
making characters that people can relate to or feel some sort of
connection to in some way, which often includes tragedy and
prose. That being said, I also have a thing for playing
interesting and quirky character that raise brows and break the
boundaries usually defined by people for their race and/or
       class.
       - Story or IC letter (optional)
“But there he found upon those distant shores,
       Enemies 'pon the rise...”
It didn't rain much on this side of Kalimdor, apparently, but
Lady Luck had decided it'd rain tonight nonetheless. The raft
bobbed and dipped upon the rough sea as it carried her tattered,
drenched figure away from the flickering lights on Durotar's
coast. Sure, stealing a raft from that troll village might not
have been the best idea in the world, but it was definitely the
brighter alternative to staying amongst those mud huts and the
brutish, primal people who called them home. Bonnie canted her
head back over her shoulder to see if they were still following
her and, upon catching nothing in the darkness, her gaze soon
turned towards her own distant shores.
“But when he faced those savage foes,
       His daughter stood aside...”
Her thoughts shot back to the day the Horde arrived on the
shores of Kul Tiras. Just a few at first, then a few more, and a
few more until the harbour was all but flooded with green and
red. She remembered the buckshot flying overhead as if it were
yesterday, the sound of cannons and screams of the dying. She
remembered her brothers and sisters with their brothers' and
sisters' daggers in their backs and the confusion came rushing
back. The only thing keeping her upright was the sudden
thrashing of the waves that shocked her back into reality. She
didn't know if she could drown, if it was even possible, but she
remembered well what that felt like. Never again.
       “And buried beneath the waves,
       Betrayed by family...”
It made sense to finally be able to think now that she was back
out on the sea. A kingdom of waves and foam she'd plundered many
times below, a sturdy sea-faring throne and the open skies above
her... Oh, it took her back. Back to her early days, back to...
to the beginning. She saw the jagged rocks – actually saw them
this time, and steered her raft away from certain doom. It's
funny how those same rocks deliver her from one life to another
again and again, from one port to the next. Maybe that's where
she'd end up after all, and for a long moment she considered
casting herself off the side. Maybe that would make the most
sense. Only the dim light on the horizon pulled her back from
       that dark place.
“And to his nation with his last breath cried,
Beware the Daughter of the Seas...”
The map she'd acquired of eastern Kalimdor was all but useless
in all this downpour, the ink stained and running. It didn't
help that it was penned by an orc, or whatever other savage that
hadn't learned how to properly use a quill. Her raft bobbed
again, a solitary island amidst the rain and storm that she
hadn't even thought to add a palm tree to. An umbrella would
have come in handy, a sail of some sort, but she'd come to rely
on her own arms quite well ever since she dragged herself over
the side of that ship. The first thing she saw after waking up
was an orc, and given that was the last thing she'd ever seen it
was only rational to crawl overboard. She remembered how she
       died, how...
“I heard, I heard across a moonlit sea
       The old voice warning me,
Beware, beware the daughter of the sea..”
The sound of... laughing? Explosions? Something pulled her from
the depths of her dead mind and the girl raised her gaze once
more to the distant shore. There she saw flags, ships weighing
anchor. It looked so much like home, and likely would have in
her addled mind if not for the shrieking and baying of goblins.
They were more irritating than the gulls. Amongst the ships,
flags, cannons and masts she saw one thing, though. A flicker of
light, a twinkle in the dark. A gold coin? No, no. She saw
       opportunity.
She pulled out a tattered quill and, using the watery pot of ink
on her lap, drew a small cross over the goblin city. A small
smile, the first in a while, crept up on her face.
       “Beware, beware...
       Of me.”

Hello, Lamb! Long time no see!
Thank you for the interest, and for taking the time to write
such a well-thought-out application. The character concept seems
interesting, and I'm looking forwards to finding out more! No
questions spring to my mind now that couldn't wait to be
       answered IC, however.
I have only good memories of your RP from the Brigands days, so
I shall just go ahead and say:
       Approved!

Thanks for taking the time to read, and thanks for the approval!
       A very tactful decision...
