Valen'Thos Valesong Application
By: Valenthos Date: August 15, 2018, 6:43 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
A letter from Valen'Thos to the guild recruiter:
“To Whom It May Concern…
I am writing to you to express my gratitude for your kind
donation of unWANTed clothing garments TO the local orphanage
last week. Young JOseph looks dashing IN his new sweater. YOUR
charitable gesture came just in time too. The local adventuring
GUILD came to MEET ME and the children only yesterday. It was
lovely to see the kids IN deep conversation with THE local
heroes. They even brought us a gift of SALTY caramel treats in
the shape of SAILORs! I wish the TAVERN next door sold them,
they were so tasty!
If I ever pass through BOOTY BAY during my travels, I will make
sure to bring you something as a token of my gratitude.
Best Regards
Codey Reeditz
Orphanage Patron”
- Why does he want to join the lowlife theft gang, the Sixty
Thieves? (And OOC, why do you want to join?)
IC Valen needs some form of shelter. He has recently escaped
from a long period of servitude to nobility in Silvermoon and
needs somewhere he can call home. OOC I would like to join
because I love to RP and Valen feels like a really interesting
character to play. I’m also enjoying questing as a rogue which
is a bonus.
- What would their nickname be?
Probably “Hot Rod”, since he’s quite fond of his motorbike.
(Like, REALLY fond of it…)
- How powerful is your character?
Hardly... He’s a sneaky schmoozer – If he can’t vanish without a
trace then he will try and sweet-talk/charm his way out of a
situation. The most action his blades have seen is slicing
cheese…
Although having said that, he is quite dextrous / acrobatic, so
he’s not totally useless in a fight.
- What's her/his background like?
In a nutshell: His parents owned a prominent jewellery business
in Silvermoon. He was a budding jeweller’s apprentice until he
was betrayed by the woman he loved. She worked for a notorious
goblin boss who wanted magical gems that were exclusive to their
family business. Valen uncovered her scheme and got the woman
arrested. In retaliation, her boss sent henchmen in to burn down
their shop, killing Valen’s mother in the process. He then
sought a hefty loan from the nobility in Silvermoon to help his
father rebuild the business, in exchange for a lifetime of
servitude. Despite this sacrifice, his father blamed him for his
involvement with the wretched woman, and ultimately held Valen
responsible for the fire and his mother’s death.
- How consistent is your character with following the lore?
I’m a bit of a lore nerd, so I try as much as possible to keep
within lore parameters. However, I’m not “the lore police”, and
I personally don’t care if other people break lore. As long as I
myself am keeping lore-friendly then I’m happy.
- "Are you a killer, son/lass?"
If Valen were to ever meet Kendra Dawnshade again, he wouldn’t
hesitate in murdering that wretch for what she did to him. He
lost everything because of her. Other than that, I don’t think
he would be up to killing, unless it was in self-defence.
Besides, his charms only work on the living ;)
- How do you feel about consequences in RP?
I know as a criminal I should be prepared to take any and all
consequences. However, I would like to get a decent amount of RP
out of him as a character before I’m forced to retire him! Given
the choice, I would prefer for him to be incarcerated for any
crimes as opposed to being killed.
- Any specialities he has? Perhaps a skill in something, a
behavioural or personality trait that can be considered unique.
Nothing particularly “unique” – But as an experienced jeweller,
he knows how to make very convincing counterfeits, as well as
being able to easily spot fake gems/metals. He would have also
worked at the shop front, convincing people to buy these
expensive adornments. This would be how he learned and practiced
his “gift of the gab”. His stealth abilities would have been
practiced during his time as a servant i.e. working through the
night, trying not to wake the family up – As well as generally
keeping out of the family’s way unless they wanted to speak to
him.
Another little “quirk” is his addiction to Bloodthistle. He gets
addicted to things quite easily really, you could say he’s
addicted to his motorbike too, always making sure it’s clean and
waxed, occasionally getting modifications and decals added to
it.
- What's your activity like?
I try to log on every day for at least a couple of hours. But
IRL can get busy for me sometimes, so my activity levels can
fluctuate sometimes.

Helo there, thank you for taking the time to put into this
application!
I have no real question or comment to make on this application,
except how nicknames we have are only 1-word, usually!
Thalindor and myself will be away for just under two weeks, so
initaition into the guild IC will be left in the hands of Einsam
and Beladun. And due to some RP plot that has recently ended,
the thieves are IC in a hideaway place. Would you be alright
with having Valenthos' initiation potentially taking a few days,
or even over a week? With BFA content, the plot, and mine and
Thalindor's absence, I fear that it will have to wait that extra
while. But that being said...
Approved! Beladun and Einsam will notify you if they can
interview you earlier! And stay in touch with these two people
just for updates up until the interview!

Hey! Thanks for getting back so quickly. I don't mind waiting as
long as you need. :) I'm currently OOC leveling through Zandalar
so that's keeping me occupied for now.
With regards to nicknames, I was thinking the name "Sparky"
might be more appropriate. This could refer to either the
"sparkly jewelry" from his craft background, or it could also
refer to the engine "spark" of his bike. I think the double
meaning fits quite nicely.
Feel free to let me know either here or in-game a time and place
that suits everyone. (character name is Valenthos)

Thalindor or myself will contact you in-game or here in a week
or so if the other officers do not (and while they're lovely and
awesome officers, we won't push them to do the recruitment yet
simply because of the plotline which is still easing up). Either
way, see you soon!
And "Spark" is an appropriate nickname, yes :D

Update if you see this in time!
Thalindor and I return tomorrow (29th). We will try and get a
hold of you in game for the interview at long last. Thanks a lot
for your patience!
Either contact am officer in game if we don't get you first, or
similarly add my discord! LRiddy#1796
