Torgaul Sal'jin's Application

- Why does s/he want to join the lowlife theft gang, the Sixty
Thieves? (And OOC, why do you want to join?) Torgaul would be
coming out of retirement from the thieves. Having been a member
for several years before retiring to the Sal'jin estate. He's
looking to reclaim his status as an Alchemist and the only place
he ever felt he had complete freedom is with his beloved family
of thieves.
OOC: My second family. Tact, Fade, Kid, Smile, etc. You guys
know why I'm rejoining, OOCly. <3
- What would their nickname be? Vial.
- How powerful is your character? Torgaul is athletic, he's able
to swing a two handed mace with some ease. Though age has really
taken to him, he still does carry it around to incite fear.
However, he would much rather rely on his elemental powers than
he would his fists like in the old days.
Elemental wise he's been keeping up with his training, thanks to
his beloved Andae. While still lacking his full potential, he
can hold his own in a one on one fight.
- What's her/his background like? I took great detail into
considering the supposed background of this troll and what I
came up with is that he is the offspring of two of the remaning
Winterax trolls. However, Torgaul see's it more a reason to
venture out and search for more primitive members of his tribe.
He is not of nobility, he is not of some rich family, he is of
two trolls who's main purpose in life was to life off the land.
"Nobodies" in the eyes of people in a place like Silvermoon.
- How consistent is your character with following the lore? He's
very consistent with the lore of the game. However, he only
breaks lore slightly with looking at new recipes that aren't
exactly listed in the Alchemy skill tree. Though these recipes
only use mats that are actually in the game!
- "Are you a killer, son/lass?" No.
- How do you feel about consequences in RP? You are free to do
what you wish, say what you wish, take what you wish. However,
you are not free of the consequences of such things. After
getting caught maybe next time the criminal won't do the same
thing! Or do it differently to not get caught!
- Any specialities s/he has? Perhaps a skill in something, a
behavioural or personality trait that can be considered unique.
Potions, potions, more potions, elixers, and flasks. Also, the
last time we saw Torgaul in action he was a transmutation
master. That would still be in effect and would be used to help
bring in more money for the family!
- What's your activity like?
Okay, let's not kid ourselves. I'm behind you guys time wise
like a boss. What used to be six hours behind England (example),
is now....9 hours behind? I think. Right now it might be 8. It
all depends on the time zones here in the good ol' US. I do make
a point of getting on every day but, during the week I'm more
than likely getting on when you guys are getting off for bed.
Even with my schedule being 1st shift at work. (Fuck closing,
never again.) But I will always be active on the weekends, too.
- Optional: The most loyal of all trolls returns from his
retirement to bring glory back to the Thieves. Only ONE potion
of his ever killed. Or well, Torg does not like to think that it
killed any orphans. But, only in the eyes of others is that any
different. Torgy mainly deals with Performance Enhancement Drugs
now. "Steroids," if you will. He doesn't look to kill with his
Alchemy as much as he looks to give his fellow Thieves a winning
advantage.

There's a few things I'd comment on.
The Winterax/Drakkari are not part of the horde (Unless BfA
changes lore). Because of that I'd point out they're not welcome
in horde cities by lore, and there are guilds out there who
react to that kind of thing. (HoC, a grunt guild has made a
fairly big show of aggressively trying to kick out
non-affiliated trolls from Orgrimmar.) Ice trolls definitely
aren't a deal breaker for us, but using skin paint and disguises
to cover up Torgie's ice troll features are worth considering.
The other part is the alchemy and 'steroids'. There's probably a
pile of different alchemical potions in lore that work akin to
steroids in RL. Long as Torgie's potions are not potent enough
to help a goblin bench-lift a hut and are referred to by
fantasyish flair, IE "Elixir of tauren's vigor" instead of RL
biochemistry, it's all good.
Lastly the transmutation sounds cool, especially in a dedicated
fashion. Since we OOCly try to keep ourselves poor so that we
can ICly remain greedy, I recommend considering limitations to
how much gold/similar Torgie can create.
Aside on those notes, I don't really have much to comment on.

Morogh. However, his race has never come up in RP. Except
through the stories I've written on the site there. And if it
ever did he would only ever tell one person the actual truth.
2) To explain the Performance Enhancer angle, it'd be the very
simple plus agility, strength, etc. and would be explained that
way as to not give any false expectations.
3) Transmutations have never brought Torgy mass amounts of gold
to make him rich. ....He lives off of Andae for that. Nor did
the potions/elixirs bring in that much money. Naturally, the
lines of being poor have changed but, the point still stands.

Thanks for writing the application!
Firstly, "Vial" is a suitable nickname up for grabs. I will also
suggest "Fizz" as I can imagine Torgy's potions to have the sort
of chemical reaction that includes fizzing and explosions.
"Herb", too, and "boost" associated to the boost that his
enhancements make. Aaand... "Foam" and "Froth"
My other thief Tusk is a frost troll, too. Due to her obvious
physical traits she never entered capital cities or towns and
was otherwise covering her physical frost troll traits when
knowingly around horde members (e.g. eyes and skin and whatnot),
so if anything Torgaul could do the same? Use voodoo or cloth
masks, wear pro-Horde colours to add to the deceit, unless
Torgaul is kept as a strictly non-Horde city guy, but yeah.
You'd be surprised how many law guilds are more or less trying
to immediately kill any frost troll that enters Orgrimmar. What
BFA has in store for ice trolls is not yet known, but as it
currently stands, they are not allowed in (including zandalari
and sand trolls)! If only Tusk wasn't left behind on a mission
months ago, otherwise you could have seen how she was portrayed!

Torgy would, ICLY, stay in his old home away from the home. A
small, simple house tucked away from it all. A place that has
seen more action than the hideout in The Drag.
Yes, the haunt. He loves the haunt. It's his little Shop of
horror. Though if anyone asks, he's a simple farmer in the
barrens. He lives off the land somewhere outside the crossroads.
In all reality he still resides, ICLY, in TBC Nagrand.

Aye. Also worth noting that the thieves didn't give a damn what
race of troll Tusk was, if they were even savvy enough to
realize she wasn't horde. Like mentioned, it's no deal breaker
for the thieves, IC/OOC. You'll mostly be contending with other
guilds trying to cause you trouble.

As said on the other two current applicants, Thalindor and I are
away until the 29th of this month! Unless Einsam and Beladun are
able to fit time in (and aren't expected to), interviews will be
around then instead!
