Application: Wrix the Fixer

Wrix the Fixer
(Never posted anything like this before, is layout is messed up
then sorry in advance :) )
Race: Goblin
Gender: Male
(Note that the character is new and the TRP is WIP, but the
character is ready for RP so there won't be any sudden changes
at a later time)
Why does s/he want to join the lowlife theft gang, the Sixty
Thieves? (And OOC, why do you want to join?)
IC: After hearing a rumor in Ratchet, Wrix decided to pursue it
at the promise of steady work and coin.
OOC: New to Horde RP, recently created the character and after
looking over a few guilds, this seemed to be the best fit for
the char.
That said I've RPed since the release of Cataclysm and learned
the ropes rather fast. So I'd say I'm experienced.
What would their nickname be?
The Fixer, Fix
How powerful is your character?
Wrix has no magical properties. He is however loaded with
gadgets and bombs along with a homemade shredder at his
disposal,
making him rather dangerous to anyone who would disregard him as
harmless. Additionally, fighting most of his life he is a decent
fighter and having no regard for honour.
What's her/his background like?
Short version:
Growing up in the Kezan underground, he quickly learned to steal
and scam his way to the top. Well not the top but he made a
living for himself.
Along with that, he'd often create gadgets and the sort from
whatever scraps he may find, resulting in a very creative
approach to making his
creations. Additionally, his way of life would often get
violent, which would lead to him becoming a decent yet dirty
fighter. Upon reaching Kalimdor,
he quickly made his way to other goblin settlements such as
Ratchet, seeking ways to make coin.
How consistent is your character with following the lore?
Trying to be as consistent as possible (Won't always know
everything about the lore but will happily accept correction)
"Are you a killer, son/lass?"
Prefers a non-lethal approach and uses a paralyzing poison on
his blades but will kill as a last resort.
How do you feel about consequences in RP?
Won't accept ic death or permanent injuries such as
dismemberment, at least not without permission. So obviously I
won't bring
my character into situations where it's impossible to avoid.
Otherwise I accept everything else.
Any specialities s/he has? Perhaps a skill in something, a
behavioural or personality trait that can be considered unique.
Engineering skills like most other goblins. Wrix has little
regard for the norms when it comes to social interaction, making
him seem
inconsiderate to some as he'd say whatever comes to is mind.
What's your activity like?
Fairly active, although can sometimes get busy irl. Guaranteed
to RP at least 3-5 times a week. Just to
throw a number out there. All days on a good week.

Hey Wrix, thanks a lot for taking the time to write this
application.
I have no questions that cannot wait to be asked IC, but I will
give some comments that should be kept in mind:
I appreciate your honesty that you don't desire having Wrix be
dismembered or killed as a consequence for something he does.
That's fine. The only thing I will say to this is: Reap what you
sow. If Wrix ever did dismember someone (whether it be an NPC or
character), consider that you should only attempt this if Wrix
would be allowed to have similar treatment done to him. The same
with character deaths - if Wrix kills, be considerate to let
Wrix be killable in return. (That isn't to say that any 'bad'
thing Wrix does will instantly get reflected on himself, but
it's always good to be prepared for it incase you get a vengeful
character or something similar!) I feel like you already knew
this, as you won't put Wrix into situations that follow into
something like this. I just wanted to emphasise is all.
As for the nickname, I'll check again, but unfortunately I think
"Fix" is taken - but if you can think of any other potential
nicknames, that'd be swell. Some members may also throw their
suggestions in, in-game.

My opinion mirrors Fade's. There's a sense of consideration to
your answer on the consequences part, and you already seemed to
understand in your answer what Fade was saying.
Due to wildly differing expectations and preferences in the
community, it's difficult to pin down the appropriate responses
to conflict-scenarios. Usually this is easiest avoided by
sticking to social stuff and committing acts of badassery in
events. However, when our officers aren't being lazy, our guild
pushes and encourages you into committing crime on actual
players.
Because of that, it can get tricky to avoid situations where
aggressive players might want to dismember you because you tried
stealing from them. We don't really expect our folks to have a
set-down "hurtable" policy, much as we hope that our members
have decent judgement on what's fair and reasonable both to them
and their counterpart in whatever conflict-scenario arises.
That out of the way, I like the app. Hopefully I'll see you
in-game someday!
