       Shry'ku - Application
By: Shryku Date: March 25, 2018, 2:13 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Up above the dust swept streets of the Spirit Valley a singular
limber figure stirred from his slumber, partially due to having
fallen asleep in a spot now directly under the beating glare of
the cloudless Durotar skies, but mostly due to the commotion he
heard down below. The young Troll groggily left his make-shift
bed of hides and rose to his feet, smacking his dry lips and
licking them, rubbing the glue from his eyes and realizing it
must have been around mid-day (Perfect time to get up) and
making his way to the rickety edge of the balcony to rest a
partially bandaged blue hand upon the wooden guard-rail, drawn
to the raised Orcish voices he heard below.
Shry'ku saw arguing Orcs clad in heavy plate attempting to
navigate a Kodo-driven wagon across the ramshackle floorboards
that made up most of the Spirit-Valley, and despite being
partially awake he spotted the issue quickly enough. One of the
damp perhaps rotten boards had given way and snapped beneath the
iron-bound spiky wagon wheels, grinding the whole ordeal to a
halt as it threatened to sink even further. The onlooker Troll
had to suppress a chuckle at this, such was the price of adding
spikes to everything, and overloading one's cart. As Shadow-mon
always said "Ya should only take what y'need..Or at least what
       ya'can carry"
       - Why does s/he want to join the lowlife theft gang, the Sixty
Thieves? (And OOC, why do you want to join?
IC: Shry'ku is an impoverished Troll without family and has a
background in underhand dealings. He once fell in with a crew
operating from the Shadow Cleft and made meager coin selling
herbs and blades. He performed a simuliar role when he was
forced into Pandaria's conflict, and old habits die hard as a
troll who has always lived on the fridges of society, in short
he want's to get together with like-minded folk, maybe a little
coin, and values having some back up should things go south!
OOC: I was reccomended the guild by Gazzrik, have seen some
member's RPing around and liked what i saw. I used to be part of
Sehjin's "Underground" a very similar guild to this one that
stuck to the cleft of shadows and the wyvern's tail, it was a
lot of fun getting into trouble with the grunts and all the
comedic mayhem that comes with Rping such desperate characters,
but i took a break from the game. Now returning for legion and
BFA, i'd like to bring the character back to his roots. we'll
       see how it goes!
       - What would their nickname be?
He's sometimes called 'Longshanks' by his Orc friend Ghazz due
to his knife-selling trade and how lanky and tall he is.
Longshank, Shanks (bit generic ;o) or maybe something with
'tusk' in it would all be fine.
       - How powerful is your character?
Not very, about average guard-level power. He is a decent hand
to hand brawler, young and scrappy, he could try to disarm an
opponent and put himself at an advantage given that he doesn't
need a weapon to fight, relying on a series of well-aimed blows
and palm strikes. He has very minor control over his "Chi" and
beyond that no magical talents. If nothing else he can certainly
be light on his feet and is more likely to flee from a
potentially escalating fight - It's also worth noting even
though he can fight unarmed he will certainly make use of the
knives he has on him, but typically doesn't like causing a big
scene, they are better for intimidation
       - What's her/his background like?
'Shry was once a dirt poor whelp with zero combat skills selling
wares to get by, but his forced drafting into the Pandaria
conflict made him learn how to handle himself, and fast! he
admired the Pandaren and their tales of breaking away from the
oppressive Mogu, seeing a parallel to the Kor'kron who were in
charge at the time. He's able to keep his cool and not one for
       drawing too much attention
       - How consistent is your character with following the lore?
Very much so, his whole story is molded almost entirely by IC
events, and i rarely go breaking the warcraft lore
       - "Are you a killer, son"
"Me? go killin'? Nah mon, 'ah jus' supply 'de tools, wat'cha do
wit'em be up to you...'Ah prefer bruises 'ova beheadin's anyway,
gets da point across either way, 'an less messy!"
       - Do you accept "RP-consequences"?
       Definitely, it's no fun otherwise.
       - Any specialities s/he has? Perhaps a skill in something, a
behavioural or personality trait that can be considered unique.
Shry'ku travels light and can enter an area with no weapons and
still fight effectively. beyond that his calm, relaxed nature
let's him befriend and put people at ease, he could be a good
Troll to have tag along, and wouldn't raise suspicion as he
       dresses quite plainly
       - What's your activity like?
Good. I plan to lv him up through the WOD and legion content,
and am able to get on most days
       Cheers.

Hello and thanks for writing this app for us!
Overall, this character do look alright. In fact, I could almost
approve it right now. There is not much to poke about but there
is something I want to ask first, and that is about
       'Power-level'.
Of course, what defines strength in a fantasy world changes to
person to person. Though this guild do have strong people, we
still do weight power-level on that most are stronger than us.
So here you write that your character is not that powerful, yet
he is on par with guards/soldiers. In the bigger picture,
compared to other RPers, that is perhaps not that strong, but
for us it is to some degree. They are well trained soldiers
       after all.
So I am curious on your view on power. What do you consider as
weak, normal and strong on a character?

       ---------------------------------------------------------
Hmm, that is a good point. i suppose i can't help but use a bit
of OOC knowledge. Power is tough to judge, With Shry'ku power
would be measured in his ability to handle himself in a brawl
and also escape danger. The typical combat experienced
adventuring/soldier player character would no doubt beat him,
possessing superior arms, spells (having magic in general is
helpful) and having battled similar humanoid foes and survived.
       - So in terms of characters i'd say he's below them, beneath
       them in experience, and equipment
I think he could take on single Orgrimmar grunt in a one on one
fight, assuming he see's the attacker coming
I guess i should specify when i say he could maybe beat a guard,
i mean an Orgrimmar grunt as they are strictly melee fighters
and possess no magic such as the Silvermoon ones, or extreme
endurance like the Deathguard of Undercity, - disarming a grunt
would be Shry'ku's best chance of winding/stunning one to then
make an escape on foot, but he would hope not to be in the
situation at all and would only attack one if cornered and
       desperate

       Hey there!
Judging by the application, Shry'ku seems like just the kind of
person that the Thieves would want to recruit; a low-life with
no other place to go, yet still possessing some skills he could
aid the gang with. All in all, everything looks to be in order,
and thank you for clarifying on his 'power-level', as well!
       Approved!

Good to hear your view on this.
With that away, I at least approve this application. Let us
wait and see what the others has to say.

Alright, cheers lads, thanks for the quick replies too :o
Assuming all goes well, was wondering about Nicknames if the
ones i mentioned are okay - And also do members only refer to
each other via nicknames? i've seen some people who changed
their trp name to be just the nickname, which is a cool idea

The use of nickname really depends on the situation. Most has
the habit and use it whenever while other only use it during
work. Majority uses it almost like their new name. If you are
unsure about your nickname, it can always be discussed Icly or
       even now here.

Alright, cool. I like Longshanks, it's fitting for a Troll guy
and already established. And i do like the idea of adopting
nicknames as the new name to throw off guards, or make it harder
       to track them down

Hi Shry'ku, thanks for the time and effort you put into the app!
I have no other questions after Einsam's one above, so I can
       happily approve this.
Contact an officer in-game for an interview (LAerynna,
Thalindor, Erthamar, Reznick, Einsam, Beladun, Morduas)
